Yes knowledge is power.  I agree with that fully.  But I would place knowing self above everything else.  I feel strongly that if you don't know yourself then everything else you know is usless.  Knowing yourself gives you the wisdom and understanding to use everything else you know to achieve what you want.

this probably sounds like a stupid question, but, as many times as i've heard the phrase "know thyself", i always wonder exactly how does one go about knowing thyself?  like how do you know when you have achieved that level of knowing everything about yourself?  what exactly should you be looking for?  i mean, i have an idea of what it means, but it seems like we all have so many layers to ourselves, so many little contradictions and stuff.  how do we know when we know all that there is to know about ourselves?  argh, i hope this makes sense.

Curiousgirl, there is another law, called The Law of Infinte Data.  You will never run out of things to learn.  Which means, control will never be complete, not even for a magician.

Understanding brings control.  If you know all there is to know about something (if it is possible), then the stronger and more powerful you are. You supposedly have control over the thing that you know.  

In other words, Knowledge is Power.
