I don't understand how these magical symbols work, and what is mantras, and chakras anyway? if you know anything please post as this
could be an interesting thread.

chakras are opened usually using meditation and this is used for psychic abilities. you have a total of 7 chakras. the first one is your root which connects you with the earth and is located at the base of your spine and is red. 2nd is your genital area, this is orange. the third one is your stomach area this is power and is colored yellow. fourth is your heart, colored blue and is love. 5th is your throat which is a purple type of color and this is used for intelligence. 6th is your 3rd eye in which is used for seeing what others cannot (psychic sensing) located between your eyes, between your eyebrows, this is all colors like a rainbow. 7th is your brain which is a white color, where the spirit is located.
these are your 7 chakras and each color. there are alot of ways to open your chakras, actually they are already open but they are just not "active" basically you have to wake them up in another words.

Lorelai, explain what you think are the differences please between the two. I know i've experienced epiphany states and I've also used the primary circuit for healing. That's what I'm focussed on with this-not other "powers". The facts is I'm not gifted with psychic ability, never have been. I don't consider it automatic that well trained chakras give you this, it's individual like anything. My training has given me a resilient enough energy body now to allow me to perform healing at high intensity for several hours without being drained, tired or have any ill effects. That's my "power" if you like.

no but I'm not that much a one for traditions to be honest. I know what bandhas are because I use them, and I know how energy feels, and how it feels to heal with the heart chakra.   How it feels to make chakras strobe-such as the heart and the crown. I work with feelings, sensations I can relate to.  All I can tell you is from my experience. I've never tried or laid claim to spirituality particularly. I just enjoy working with energy and the energy body. I also enjoy the feelings that come when I have successful healing on others.

Not to devalue your information in any way here, I just can't go into sophisticated or convoluted work. I'm a simple person. My energy training will take me at least 1.5 to 3 hrs each day. It's all straightforward work. My meditation is simple when I use it-clear the mind, follow the breath and make a long sound in the mind to aid in clearing it.  

I've started kundalini classes, not to learn the traditional spirituality behind it, but to learn the specific and powerful physical/mental techniques that will help me with further energy work.   The other stuff, I'm not equipped to understand maybe? or just not personally ready to work with, or maybe I just don't need to do that. Just directly work with energy perhaps..who knows. I'm doing this to see how far the rabbit hole goes really. What happens if I spend ten years building on these skills further and more deeply.  I predict I will get a little stronger, healthier and maybe if I'm lucky i'll get some psychic stuff to, if not at least my ability to heal others which is where this started from will improve. .

Thank you for your links Lorelai, the intention behind your sharing of information is itself deeply appreciated and in nothing I say am I implying that there is any lack in your knowledge. Just that for me, personally, perhaps it's a silk shirt to a pig a little?

Do you know a term Siddhis ?
If you really open a chakra ,there are siddhis .
Magick powers .
Like telepathy ,healing ,flight (levitation),and many others .
You recognize ,when you open a chakra ,you take the siddhis ,in the chakra hidden .

Perhaps what you are telling me isn't universally true for all. People are born with different aptitudes and talents. Some will find it easy to become a genius or a great athlete, some will never attain quite that status no matter how hard they try.

I've worked with energy work now for 17 yrs-at least that's from when I can first recall feeling the energy moving in my body. I do have one much earlier memory that caused me to have tears of joy-a memory that came recently but conscious practice started somewhere around 10 or 11.  

To have done all this time and not had any real glimmer of psychic abilities tells me that no way is this universal like many people would say.  I can sense my chakras clearly and strongly-the easiest one to actually do stuff with is my heart chakra though I can get the crown to strobe also-NO lights or visions however.

I do have incredibly strong tactile sensations so I don't go along with the need to have visuals as evidence. I can feel what I am doing.

As for magic, the nearest I come is occasional application of direct magic work for folks-it's rare I do it but if I really want it to work I've had effects before. Nothing major, mainly healing work.   I've lost all motivation and interest in the "fancy" nonsense like spending hours, days, months trying to TK, levitate and other stuff. The feel of energy and it being there has been enough for me so far.

I'm fairly confident that for me personally I've activated and worked with my chakras-and yes more energy raising into them is always possible. I do now doubt that I will get much in the way of "abilities" from it. Unless you count feeling fantastic and generating the sensation of epiphany at will as abilities perhaps .

Based on personal exploration and experience I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

I've never been happy with faiths, ideas or systems that have a "true for all" blanket philosophy. The universe is too diverse for that.

I will however have a browse of the links you freely offer, as I'm always happy to pinch a technique from anywhere if it works for me .

Though the alchemy one is way too esoteric for me. I'm a simple person don't ya know? .

More seriously, I don't go along with the assertation that developement of the chakras automatically is going to confer psychic/spiritual powers-at least not in the way you've spoken about.  To me the real power is the interconnectedness sensation to the universe, the ability to heal more strongly and the peace/joy/satisfaction so obtained from such practice.
