Hi everyone! I have been on a spiritual quest for about 10 years now and somehow it has lead me to explore the world of OBE's.  A few weeks ago I read two books by William Buhlman that changed my whole perspective.  It has felt for a long time that I am very close to opening a door but didnt have the keys.  When I read those books I literally found the keys.  I realized that many of the things Mr. Buhlman experienced had happened to me in the past but I didntknow what they were.  I had no name for them.  Now I do and I am learning which way to turn those proverbial keys for the first time.  Those books are like AP manuals, they are so good!!

I have had a semi-separation several years ago that was extremely brief but a bit disconcerning.  I had been laying on my bed and was involved in lucid dreaming.  I knew I was unable to physically move as I did try to get up and couldnt (experiencing sleep paralysis never bothered me).  I vaguely remember just finding myself sitting up so I must have just relaxed and just did it. I saw my room but then a figure that had been hiding behind the doorway whipped very fast towards me and pushed me back down.  The force of impact reverberated for several minutes throughout my now conscious but paralysed body. I also heard a whoosh sound as I re-entered.  I distinctly remember this being as wearing kahki's and his jacket had pleated pockets and he was wearing a Australian type hat with the ties and flipped up brim and had dark hair/mustache and complexion.  He also wore an expression of a scowl as if he really didn't want me to get out.  The whole thing happened so fast that I didnt even have time to notice if anything in my room was different.

The experience didnt really scare me much, I just though it was very, very interesting and has left me with a very strong taste for more LOL.

I look forward to the day when I AP voluntarily and work towards mastering it as I feel I have many, many things to learn.  Thank you all for this forum.

So you are quite the veteran already when it comes to spiritual quest. Did OBE play a part on your spiritual quest from almost the start, or is this a more recent thing for you? Reading a lot of the subject is always good, a fresh perspective can get the pieces to lock in place for you, even if the same texts did nothing for the next guy. It really seems to be quite common that people get disturbed in the early (and why not later) OBE tries.. although your perception of it is quite peculiar, but so the whole OBE thing if you think about it...

Don't we all. Hopefully reading those books and getting the 'keys' got a big step forwards towards that goal.

Well, thank you all for your welcome!  I was beginning to think that this forum was, well...slow.

Harrif, I don't know if I am a veteran as I still have yet to exit with my consciousness intact LOL.  But, I know that I will and want to take advantage of that as soon as I can as I feel I now have a lot of the tools necessary to take control of my experience.  I'm even looking forward to any negative stuff just to see if I can disipate it with what I have learned.  I would like to see that guy again and let him know that now I AM IN CONTROL, not him and he can't startle me back in like he did last time!

I almost did it two nights ago but LOL, I forgot that I could get out even tho I deliberately was manipulating my lucid dream in other ways!  Man, I missed a prime opportunity and I am kicking myself now LOL.

OBE did not play a part in my spiritual quest actually until a few weeks ago after reading Mr. Buhlman's books.  Actually, I didnt even really know much about OBE's at all.  Just thought I had a few really vivid, weird dreams and thats it.  Now I know differently!!  My journey was through mediums which confirmed my knowledge of life after death.  I have been trying ever since through meditation to raise my own vibrations to be able to connect with spirit with no luck.  Somehow I stumbled upon OBE's and a huge light went on in my head.

Now, I want to know what's beyond the astral, how many levels are there, what can I learn from them, meet my spirit guides in person, meet loved ones, see if I can communicate with my living pets to see if they need anything and someday ...maybe...find out if there is anything beyond "God".

I am tired of reading books and want to literally experience this.  The best way to learn anything is by actual experience, in my opinion.

Hopefull, as time goes on I will have an OBE to post about!!
