hey all,

I'm Will from Melbourne, Aus, am 25, am going through a bit of a spiritual awakening at this point my life. Friend of mine told me about DMT recently, I was initially skeptical but like all things I needed to do my own research before passing judgement. This led me to all kinds of knowledge about the true healing power of psychedelics and natural plant medicines like ayahuasca. I will be experiencing DMT very soon, but as preparation for what will likely be an eye-opening journey, I have been exploring meditation, lucid dreaming and astral projection, as well as listening to many great talks by the late Alan Watts, Graham Hancock, Terence Mckenna and Dr. Rick Strassman. I want to make sure that when the time comes I am truly ready.

I am interested in out-of-body experiences and astral projection because they seem to me like they are keys to understanding the universe and the nature of life itself. I am on a quest for knowledge and truth.

Happy to be a part of the community!

Hi Will!

Welcome to the forums!  It's good to have you.  :)

I'll let you in on a concept regarding something you mentioned above...
The key to understanding the universe and the nature of life itself is: You.
Know the truth of yourself and you'll know the universe, because the universe resides within you.  You are the universe and the universe is you.  :)

I can hear Alan Watts' words. Wise, wise words indeed.

Welcome, thesilentmind

DMT is going to be a mind shattering experience that would leave you wondering on what just happen. It would give you answers pertaining towards your most inner subconscious thoughts, while letting you experience other aspects of yourself in alter dimensional realities. Your intent is in the right place and so because of this, you will be shown more shattering perceptions. That's what seems to coincide with my experience, from all my friends that took Ayahuasca. Your dreams will become heighten as well as your meditation sessions that occur few days after the DMT sessions. Keep having that urge for knowledge and truth and I promise the answers will show themselves, I get shocked a little when I find some of these answers still. But like Xanth said, it is really all inside you.

Welcome thesilentmind :)

I am in New Zealand and am 24 so cool that somebody here is a little closer to home :) I wouldn't mind giving the ol DMT a try, wouldn't know where to even start in regards to finding it here though unless I made it myself lol good luck for trying it.

Xanth

I'm actually really wanting to try Ayahuasca, which has the active ingredient DMT.

You can do retreats in certain parts of the world where they'll lead a group in using it.

Xanth its one of my life goals to go on one of those retreats. Whenever I talk to friends about Aya or DMT they look so afraid and are like "hell no!! bugger that" even friends that have experimented with drugs a lot are scared of it.

I'd have to venture to guess that's because they fear their own minds.  Ayahuasca opens your consciousness to the truths of yourself.  That can be a scary proposition to most people.

I'm glad to see that so many people here are open to things like mind expanding drugs. It's quite refreshing after being raised in a strict traditional christian home.

Well, I wouldn't suggest them to others...

I'd say ONLY use them once you've figured this stuff out on your own.  They're useless to you otherwise.  An uncontrolled journey into the non-physical will do more harm than good.

I am all for experimentation but I wouldnt choose to make it a habit, there is certain things I want to try in my life but then there are many drugs I do not care to try at all

I've never taken any drugs myself, It's just nice to see a place that's bit open about these things.

We're not against drug talk... but we also can't condone it either.
My statements above are made after having many of my own experiences, enough to realize that I could make some good use of the time under the influence.

I still say that you should learn to do this stuff yourself before you go off and find a drug to help.  You won't learn anything if it's given to you... and it might sound cliche, but the journey *IS* more important than the destination.
