Hi I'm Ghost. I'm new to this site, and basically new to astral projection. I've been trying to project for awhile now, but I still haven't been able to pull it off. I found "Mastering Astral Projection 90-Day Guide To Out-Of-Body Experience" by Robert Bruce and Brian Mercer. It's a fantastic book with tons of info. But I've kind of went out on my own and haven't been successful at achieving an OBE. I actually have a couple of questions that I was hoping someone could help me with.

The first one is, does white noise help? Say a fan?
Also I have some problems with sight when I'm trying to concentrate. It's hard to explain, but it's sort of like stepping forward or backwards with my eye sight. When I step forward it makes it easier to concentrate, but it strains my eyes. Then when I step back it allows my mind to wonder a little more, which makes it harder to concentrate, but it's easier on my eyes. So which should I try to project with? Or do you have no clue to what I am trying to say? lol

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!! And a big thanks for all of the people taking time to help others like me who can't seem to project just quite yet!!

Yo Ghost.
I don't know what you mean.
Stepping back, forwards, I dunno man.  I always used stepping somewhere to project energy to a point in time.  Or draw energy from time.  No astral projection for me for a while now, just vague nightmares about being in these big arenas with lots of people shouting and fighting.  Terrible stuff really.

I will say to you, center yourself.  Gain full body awareness, then, effectively harness the energy of your mind, and begin to focus images.  But you gotta retain lucidity, don't worry about distractions, complications, or other stuff, just go for the mega existence.  And of course, there is that thing about how you can enter a semi trance, and then periodically peak with astral experience as you go full trance.  Noticing the shift of energy as you are relaxing is important, but don't forget, you gotta also keep tabs on physicality.

When you are sitting in complete silence, listen to the sounds.  You'll hear your own aura, your own biorhthyms.  One time, I actually felt my aura expanding and contracting, it made me feel sick and dizzy, like I was having a heart attack.  There's so much that you can do with your mind, my only suggestion is that you build soul power through regular meditation, using one primary 'constant' practice, full daily activity, and then build on that with periods of focus.  There is something more to be said concerning images, as, after all, existence has many sigils, flesh bodies are a massive complex of geometrical structures at the micro level.  All that twisting and piling and interweaving of molecules, and it comes out with a simplified form, stable beings, and everything cool about our physical reality.

that's my two cents anyway.  Just remember, you have imagination, you have the power of belief, and nobody can tell you that your spiritual existence, does not exist.  If they don't think that you are quite allright, to hell with them, they're heathen dogs.  Just try focusing a white light, a pin prick of light in your mind, and see how hard it is to hold it until you go full trance.  If the light wants to move, or explode, or do anything, replicate, spin, twist, get bigger, brighter, change color, you'll see how hard it is to control the near infinite variables of mindspace, and spacetime.

Hey Warper. Thanks for the responding.

What I meant by stepping forward or backwards is when I have my eyes closed and trying to get project. But I guess it really doesn't matter. I've been practicing and getting closer.

I've been trying to project with my fan on, but no luck yet. Do you think I should try without it? I thought white noise would be helpful, but now I'm not so sure.

It sounds like you know your stuff. Thanks for the help too. I guess this is really one of those things that you have to learn on your own, considering everyone is different. As far as I have gotten is to the vibration stage. However, I've never heard the rushing or loud noise like I have read about. Also, should I try to project during the vibrations or after? I have heard different theories on that.
