I Dreamed I Projected

I've been lurking on this forum for about a week. I've been interested but didn't really have much to say. But last night, I visited the forum before bed. I mentally told myself before falling asleep that I would have a lucid dream (I think I said, 'I will be in control in my dream.')

Well, I wasn't in control totally. It was a very vivid dream though I don't remember it all now. Only one part was very important that I remember. This was it:

I was laying down on my back. I closed my eyes and willed myself to project. I did project. It was like my soul or inner mind left my body. However, I only floated a few inches above and was facing my real body, not the ceiling. I "opened my eyes" and once I saw my physical body, I was scared and violently snapped back. My eyes flew open (in the dream) and I told myself that I MUST remember this when I wake up (as if I knew I was sleeping). However, when I woke up I was disappointed. It was just a dream within a dream.

Any thoughts on this? My skeptical brain tells me I was thinking about astral travel before bed and thus dreamed of it.

As an introduction, briefly: I was raised Christian. I was skeptical from a young age. As a teen, I was interested in everything New Age. However, I became skeptical of that too. For the past ten years, I have transitioned from Agnosticism to Athiesm. However, I've decided to take a second look at everything I've chosen not to believe in simply because I have no proof. I'd like to think it's simple: if it was real, science would prove it. But science sometimes takes a while to catch up. I'm willing to admit there may be more to this life than random chance and evolution.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I'm enjoying reading everything here.

Hello Vanille and Welcome to the Astral Pulse. What you have described sounds to me like a successful exit. Keep up the good work. It takes some people years to achieve what you have in only a short time. Every night I say to myself while lying in bed "I release my physical control over my body. Take me to your desired destination. Show me what I need to see, teach me what I need to learn. Awaken me in my dreams so I may be conscious and enjoy them". This has worked very well for my recent OBE's and definitely for my dream recall. I do 2 Phase sessions per day consciously aware, but haven't really attempted to project from a Lucid Dream until just recently. This is definitely a new and welcomed development for me.
Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

Hallo Vanille and welcome.
I agree with Lionheart. That probably was an OBE not just a dream. Maybe the rext time you will be more conscious and will be fully aware of what is happening.
