Hi all,
I'm Angelina. I'm 18 and in my first semester of college. I'm new. I've been trying to astral project for... well, almost 5 years. But I've had next to no success. Before I first learned what it was, I remember I thought I was falling off my bed and woke up, even though I was still in bed. I've had a couple tries where I got as far as very minor vibrations, before I just ended up falling asleep and then waking up the next morning. Now, the past year - whenever I've tried, I end up with next to nothing. I'm hoping to find something on here that would help me get past that. So... yea, that's about it. Okay.

firstly, welcome.

secondly, do you only try at night?  I could never achieve conscious exit at night because I was usually too tired and went into a really deep sleep pretty quick.  i found that when i practiced in the mid to late afternoon i had the most success.  sometime between 2-5pm is good.

(PR) I usually do all my attempts at night. I still live with my parents, so it's easier then (I'm not bothered as often at night as during the day by whomever else is home XD). I've been very bad about trying it lately (though I tried it last night, alas with no success... figures, right?) and have only just started to try astral projecting again, having taken a break due mainly to major frustration of no success. I have a couple of days off from classes during the week. Maybe I'll try your suggestion when I have the afternoon off.

why don't you try in the morning.

wake yourself up an hour or so early and make your attempt then.

that way the house will be relatively quiet and they'll still expect you to be asleep anyway so they won't bother you and don't even have to know what you're doing.

if all else fails, you can get some earplugs at the drug store to help keep out the noise for an afternoon attempt.  you could also get a sleep mask or bandanna if the light bothers you. 

i know that parents aren't always accepting of these sorts of things, so just say you're taking a nap or something if you have to.
