in this world demons attempted to psychically attack me and I focused all my burning hate and rage and suffering I can remember and slashed at the demon as a sword would. kinda like a lightsaber i guess, but it was all psychic.

It was probably only a powerful neg, not demon. Demon would not attack without a reason...
