Hello folks,

I always identify myself when I join a forum, not so much out of ego, but just because it seems like the polite thing to do. First off I've had some previous OBE experiences that occurred during meditation, but they weren't so much projections to an astral plane (and I will admit my understanding of a lot of this stuff is limited) but rather finding myself in specific places, the one that I remember the clearest is apparently sitting in a window display, looking out at a couple and their son as they are looking through me. I can't hear what they're saying, only see them. It was strange and I immediately pulled myself back from this experience.

I had a near death experience as well, which is very personal and I wont share it right away, at least not until I've been here awhile and have a chance to get a feeling for the general vibe on the forum.

I've had a few pseudo dream experiences, where I'm supposed to be asleep but instead just outside my body. One time I felt like I was floating above the bed, another I felt something repeatedly slap my leg. I've found myself outside my body on numerous occasions, but that was diagnosed as dissociation, so I don't think that counts as an OBE. Again strange stuff and part of the reason I didn't pursue this kind of practice and probably still wont. What I am interested in, though, is lucid dreaming and that's why I actually joined the forum and decided to check it out. Someone from The Tao Bums recommended this place.

To be honest I'm skeptical of a lot of this stuff, but I want to be open minded, so I'm probably just going to sit back and observe first, but if I have anything to add, I'll be happy to, but again, my general experience is limited, so I don't know how much more I can say.

Anyways, that's about all I can think off, so over and out...

edit- In the effort of full disclosure, as a child I saw ghosts and also sensed spirits and such. I can still sense things today, but I don't consciously try to. I'm not interested in talking about this, but I've mentioned it elsewhere, so I thought I might as well let that out of the bag as well.

Welcome to the forum Twinner.

It seems you have a gift. You can convince yourself that you are more then physical matter. Only you can. you can sit back and observe as much time as you want, but that won't give you the knowledge you are looking for. What you need is interior investigation on your part.


the forum will help you, that's for sure, but it will not give you the experience you need.

Greetings Twinner and welcome.
Actually it is Very surprising to find how many people just end up in random and unfamiliar places during an OBE. This happens to me on occasion, suddenly I find myself going to a place that is totally new and unfamiliar. The most annoying part of these situations is that if I like a place and want to return there then I can never figure out how to go back. (?)
