Hello one and all. My name is Jason and I've always have what I would call a passing interest in what goes on at night when we sleep. I've mainly been interested in learning how to have a lucid dream, but I know I can take that much further. I've experienced sleep paralysis twice that I'm aware of and more recently have started meditating and working on my breathing.
Now, here's something I've had happen just in the past week and would like some input on. Twice I've had the experience while meditating where my body feels like it's spinning in a clock-wise direction.
- The first time my head felt like it was stuck in place, but the rest of my body was spinning. Also, I could feel my fingers very slowly creeping in the other direction. I didn't attempt to do anything at the time because this was a new experience to me and I wanted find out how it would play out. What happened was I had an itch on my forehead that became too much and I had to take care of it; which "destroyed" the sensation.
- The second time my whole body felt this way. I had wanted to actually try something that time, but it occurred towards the end of the time I had allowed myself before going back to work.
Both times I wasn't in sleep paralysis yet and was quite awake concentrating on my breathing and keeping my mind clear. I will certainly try some things the next time this happens. I could go and speculate what I think is going on, but would like to hear what you have to say first. Always listen to the voice of experience, right?
the issue is your focus is not completely off your body. Focus completely away from your body and things should improve.

Thanks for the input. Next time I will work on that.
