Morning all,

Just wanted to say thank you - I have read and re-read so many of the posts on here I feel like I know some of you personally.

I found this forum after months of dabbling in quasi and outright mysticism - I guess I was and still at the point where I'm just starting to glimpse a wider reality.  I was hearing things that go bump in the night, voices sometimes whispering my name or laughing and loud bangs and sounds like a tray of cutlery being dropped in my hallway. (all at the border of sleep/wake I might add :-)

The wider consciousness for me was a place that I wanted desperately to explore but lacked the courage, I was woefully under prepared and ill informed and felt strongly it was a place populated by demons and nightmares.  In short my imagination was primed to deliver me all the 3D Horror I can handle..and then some. I would have lasted 1 minute flat before being chased out of the wider reality. (think I cribbed that line from TC)

My point is that I am genuinely in awe of some of you on here and of the original pioneers of Bob Monroe's era who did this without the internet, with no resources other than obscure Kabbalistic writings and the such who did this on blind faith and guts alone.  I have twenty odd years of modern writings, scientific studies, the internet and access via AP to veteran AP'ers who  are willing to share their journey and support newbies.....and it still scares the sand out of me at times - How the early guys did it I do not know.

I can see my attitude, beliefs, expectations all needed a complete overhaul. Things still go bump in the night but thanks to you guys and the internet I have a base level of understanding and courage to persevere. Now I don't know what's out there/in there but I'm exciting about trying to find out.

So massive thank to all you who make this place, this place. I'll see you all around the forums and post failed attempts/field reports, questions as soon as have some interesting ones.

Hi Luthor,
Welcome to the Pulse.
The early days for some were a test of mettle that's definately true.
Taking the reins and shouting " No more!" works. You really do have to face your fears in this art. When this is done everything becomes far easier.
You basically scare yourself in the beginning, once realised the jigsaw can then be pieced together.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.
