Hi there,
I registered a month ago, now it is about time to tell you more about myself and my experiences that brought me here.
I'm a 45 year old female. English is not my native language by the way.
About 3 years ago I started a dream diary and soon I picked up the ambition to get a lucid dream. A few weeks later there it was, I was standing next to my bed fully conscious, from there I ended up in my first lucid dream.
Since then lucid dreaming became an important part of my life. I have a few lucid dreams each month, they are very precious to me.
Also, on 4 different nights, next to having a lucid dream, I had the experience of finding myself some distance above my bed, rocking like in a hammock or moving otherwise. These were very short experiences, they had the same self-conscious feel as a lucid dream, but there was no sight and there was no dream, this was just me in my bedroom.
The last 2 of these experiences were on successive nights last month. I was very excited, I felt maybe this was the beginning of a new 'chapter' of developing OBE's or the like. I registered here and started reading in Astral Dynamics.
Nothing noteworthy happened since then. Untill last night. Last night (after a natural WBTB) I found myself walking in my house, I noticed a light was dimly on, I was sure I had turned it off before returning to bed, the light dimmed even more, this made me realize I was asleep. I walked on in my house, everything was very real, I touched things like I am used to to stabilize a lucid dream. Some time later I woke up. Then I had two more of these 'dreams', where I realized this was strange me roaming the house at night and I conscious/ lucid walked in my familiar surroundings. I woke up after each.
I can not imagine myself projecting from the waking state (for now). But I do feel there might be new possibilities for me in the sleeping state. I want to share my experiences here on the forum. I hope somebody might recognize them and maybe have some feedback or advise (for instance about developing OBE like skills in the dream state)
Thanks for reading :-)
Hi Jaja ... welcome to the forum!
You have already created a great start for yourself (e.g., diary, regular practicing, progression). A diary or journal is especially important from my own experience ... and so is regular meditation.
In regards to out of body experiences, I am going to suggest reading William Buhlman. He has a web site with lots of free stuff on it, and he focuses very well upon the out of body experience. Here are some links:
www.astralinfo.org (main site)
www.astralinfo.org/astral-projection-methods/ (techniques) ** start here **
www.astralinfo.org/effective-mindset/ (exploration mindset)
After reading Buhlman's 2nd book, I had my first experience within 40 days of practicing each day. That was over two years ago. However, probably my most important experience to date was meeting my guidance in an early OBE. This really changed things for me.
I will note that "phasing" and "out of body experiences" are often perceived differently by the traveler. Buhlman speaks mostly about the latter. And, I have noticed that phasing is more frequently discussed here at the AP forum. Phasing from a state of wakefulness is a very refined skill, however it is not a necessity. Learning to exit or project from your sleeping physical body is perfectly fine! It is what most of us do.
If you look around the forum here ... note the "blue stickies" ... these are posts that have been highlighted intentionally by the forum moderators. They are filled with common answers to FAQ's. A good place to start if you hungry for information or answers.
There are many skilled and experienced travelers here (and of course ... lots of newbies). I am sure that others will eventually chime in here. Thanks for introducing yourself.
