Highrouthe,
Firstly, welcome to AP.  It's good to see another new member from Oz here.

You said the pain was in your midriff section.  Can you be more specific ?  In the diaphram muscles, was it centred around the belly-button, etc ?  The reason for these questions is to see which chakra is involved.

I am north of Brissy, if you were in that area I could travel down to help you at no charge.  Getting into our higher-awareness levels is quite easy really, all the various methods that are available can make it too complicated at times. Our inner fears which we are mostly not aware of also make it difficult at times too.

Love Always. [:)]

Welcome Highrouthe,

Take a look at our energy development forum as well, perhaps doing some energy work. That said, we do have a search engine where you might possibly discover threads  on physical pains when attempting projections. Very best to you in your astral endeavors. [:)]

Thanks to respondents to my query, a little bit of a hiccup regarding Internet configuration but seems to be fixed.

Energy was not a problem during the first short episode in my mid-twenties, just stupidity. Or something. It was like the Fool in the Tarot deck just about to walk off the cliff. I made the attempt out of sheer curiosity, because I had heard anecdotes and media reports along that line, and as a teenager I had read at least part of one of Lobsang Rampa's books.

For the first few seconds, it was magnificent. But I surprised "something", I don't know who or what. Not room here for a full story, just to say at that time I needed no preparatory ritual. I just did it, no pain. That time in my 40's, from memory the pain was lower than solar plexus, probably nearer the navel, but maybe not precisely. Focused pain unless I tried harder when nausea also entered the picture. (Does sound like a Chakra).

What I am really after, which I shut down after that first short episode, is the state of being SUPER AWARE that I had after I retreated to my physical body. I need that tool, it's not simply a case of becoming some sort of astral travelling junkie. I need that tool to help myself and to help others.

Now, the above relates to attempts at astral travelling in what I would call the "Yang" mode, which is more emphatic. The "Yin" mode to me would be where one is assisted, by guides, angels, whatever you call them, plus maybe a human physically present to prompt, make decisions, etc. This was done third week of June, to access past lives. No carryover issues of such crippling magnitude were found. I didn't expect any.

So the question needs to be put: WAS THE BLOCKING PAIN INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL IN ORIGIN??[?][8][?]

As a new forum user I have only just discovered Astral Pulse.

To get to the point, my first attempt at consciously-directed astral travelling (in my mid-twenties) was briefly successful, my second in my mid-thirties with aid of Monroe tapes was not, my third in about mid to late 40's (though I felt comfortable, confident,) brought me physical pain. In the midriff, as though someone was twisting a screwdriver or something. The more I tried the worse it got, with nausea, so I was forced to abandon the attempt.

I am now 53 and in the last week have sought aid by guided session, (yin mode, extra person present), and while this brought some success nobody has come up with an answer to the pain. It seems clear it is not a holdover from a past life, and it certainly was not present the first time. Someone in this wide world must be able to answer this.
