Welcome! Thanks for joining us :D
Take to the sky, feeling so alive! Past the clouds to the Milky Way, share our secrets with the starry brigade. The stars surround us like a million fireflies. For once I see infinity... it's in your eyes.

Hi and welcome to the Pulse.
Good handle.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Hello and Welcome to the Astral Pulse!  :-)

I don't need to tell you how to navigate this site, you already stated you are on other Forums.

The "stickies" are excellent here, I personally would check them out. They are a great Primer for new members and an excellent rehash for those already in the "know"!

Good Luck and Safe Travels!   :-)

Apakhana....interesting name. What's it mean?

And welcome, by the way. :-)

It means "slimy things made of dust".

Huh, am I missing something here?  :?

This is the definition I found. http://wikibin.org/articles/apakhana.html

Bedeekin

Looks like you missed this...

""Apakhana" is a word which can literally interpret as "slimy things made of dust" in the language of Enochian Magick, channeled by Dr. John Dee, court astrologer to Queen Elizabeth I, and Edward Kelley, his skryer, during 17th century England."

I think your both right!

edit: I see Beedeekin brought some of his own pudding for us to taste. I don't know why I didn't just look it up myself, I suppose it looked like a Native American word to me and sometimes those are hard to find definitions for.

What's the saying about the word assume?

Oh OK. I was going with this, it seemed like it was related more with AP and our goals.  :-)

APAKHANA is a term coined in modern occult science and spiritual practice which denotes a state of mental clarity, similar to Zen in Buddhism, where the practitioner balances their inner states to a degree which then yields an easier mode of approach towards maintaining focus on absolutely nothing as a means of attaining improved self-awareness.

I really like what the link says further about the word. This is the best that I have seen it explained as to what we mean about not having any preformed ideas about projecting.

The purpose is to establish, for the practitioner, a point of pure and clear reference from which to consciously comprehend and receive impressions; Impressions which then enter the individual's own psychological sphere or perception unaffected or unpolluted from anything else the person might identify with, which allows one to come to understand what a pure perception truly is, free from identity with anything else;

 :-D

Well.. I was going to put that... but decided to give the literal translation at the bottom because it seemed the original meaning... and I wanted someone to say... "What?" or something along those lines. :)

Also upon being asked about how I came up with such a ridiculous meaning.. I would have joyously linked that page knowing that it did in fact mean "slimy things made of dust".

The modern occult description was obviously why Apakhana chose it. :)

I took the bait, guilty as charged.  :-D

But you already knew I would on some deeper level!
