Hi everybody, pleased to meet you!
I'm not sure how or why I stumbled accross this site but I'm glad I did!
I'm very interested in the subjects raised on this site but maybe standing from a different viewpoint as to many of you.
My views may differ to most peoples on here as many of you seem very spiritual and/or reiligous. I'd like to point out that I am a strict atheist and do not really believe in the spiritual realms at all. I am a 25 year old male that has spent a lot of time searching for my spiritual side but I do not believe it is there!
I am however, interested in expanding my mind, opening neurological pathways and also having a greater control over both my conscious and sub-conscious, as I am very interested in following a career in psychiatric and/or hypnotherapy work.
I'd also like to point out that all my life I have always seemed to have weird ways of thinking and even weirder sleeping patterns. I constantly find myself having such vivid dreams that seem to last weeks in my head, dreams that seem to depict the future and the past, dreams with comlicated sub-plots, and night terrors which seem to make me sleep walk.
I'd very much like to learn how to control and focus my sub-conscious into something useful, as I've tried the odd bit of meditating, but for all intents and purposes I am a complete newbie! If anyone could point me in the direction of some references to get started with I would be very grateful!!
I look forward to hearing from you and discussing different viewpoints :)
Hi amd welcome to the pulse.
You've lots to learn a good start is NOT to doubt yourself.
Greetings Benjam and welcome
It's good to know that you keep an open mind about spiritual subjects.
The best way to decide for yourself is to have a spiritual experience, namely an OBE. That is really the ONLY way to make such decisions.
Undoubtedly you already have had Many dreams. Dreams, like OBEs, are non-physical experiences. OBEs are different from dreams in that OBEs occur outside and apart from the physical body. Whereas most dreams, both lucid and nonlucid happen inside the physical brain.
So my advice is to keep an open mind to the possibility of an OBE occurring for you. And you need not necessarily attempt to deliberately induce an OBE. Many times OBEs will occur spontaneously by themselves, OBE are especially likely to happen when a person desires them.
