Title: Hi Everyone
Post by: BuShinJu on August 27, 2013, 22:10:52
Hi Everyone,

Cool place you have got here! I've been reading Contenteo's guide to travelling and I can't wait to have a full blown experience. I think I have had some minor events but I'm not sure.

I've come here from a meditation background, Tibetan Buddhism and then Daniel Ingram. Had feel good vibrations regularly while meditating (just like free drugs  :-) ) and felt presences (they never talk back though, I think they might be reflections of me) and seen some generally weird stuff.

Came across Raduga, Campbell and Monroe a while ago but have found it difficult to get into lucid dreaming and projecting. I've been waking up in the middle of the night and trying to force an exit, felt the vibrations a few times, I saw a dark shadow of myself once standing in the corner with shiny eyes, kinda scary, had visualisations but nothing that felt 'real'.

I'm looking to do the 'get up in the middle of the night, potter around and then go back to sleep' for a wake induced lucid dream or get a phase. I've woken up the past couple of nights but was too tired to get out of bed. I'm thinking I might get a good nights sleep the first night and then the next night try some experiments. Then I might not be too worried about missing out on some sleep :-)

See you in the threads!

Hi and welcome to the Pulse.
Interesting background, there's lot's of stickies with good info in them. These can be found at the top of each selection from the Home button.

Thanks Szaxx,

This place is a gold mine of information,

I'm still trying to get a grip on relaxing my intention and not trying to force anything. It seems that there may be some different schools of thought regarding pushing or forcing it and just letting it happen.

What is the consensus on pushing for it or just letting it happen?

So, just the other day I had a lie down in the park at lunch. I relaxed by following my breath for a 15 breaths or something then I started to imagine some scenes and the imagery sort of took off on it's own, beach scene, then a rock climbing scene, then falling/flying down a deep black chasm, then a different scene in a bush setting. Not much effort on my part, I wasn't expecting anything as I had to go back to work shortly. It was fun.

Contrast that to: a few weeks back I read some Raduga methods of getting into the phase and he says to aggressively and forcefully get an exit when you get certain signs like seeing a landscape in the blackness or being able to wiggly a body part with moving it. Applying effort in this way led to some experiences I've never had before, but not a full OBE (I don't think).

I'm guessing there is a sliding scale of effort to passivity.

It's more to do with timing.
If you are still fully body aware and no signs of SP or hypnagogic effects you will find very little help by forcing any attempt.
Have a read of this I created a while back. There's some relevant info on this timing issue.
