Hi everyone, I'm Emily. :) I just stumbled upon this site in looking for a community with which to share my astral experiences... so here I am.
A little bit about me:
I'm a 20 year old college student who discovered the idea of astral projection around the age of 12, after reading a fiction book about a girl who astral projects. I became fascinated and read all about it, but the concept scared me at the same time and so I sort of pushed it to the back of my consciousness. It has emerged several times since then, but for no lasting amount of time... until about three months ago. I have since experienced many intense dreams and several episodes of sleep paralysis, which got me very interested in AP again. I have been reading about it and thinking about it all the time.
Two nights ago, I finally projected for the first time. It was by accident -- upon waking up from a dream I found myself in sleep paralysis. From there, I projected out of my body and found myself floating in my room. It was really dark... I really couldn't see anything, but when I looked down I vaguely remember seeing my astral body, which was sort of a pinkish hue. Then I think I got scared because I was back in my body again. It was such a brief experience, and I'm still trying to comprehend it...
Any thoughts? I've heard it's normal for the first projection to be very brief.
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all :)
Welcome Emily.
Yes... this is a typical wakeup call. The same as mine in fact... projection from SP.
My thoughts are that you can now learn to practice it and control it without the need of wondering what it feels like or indeed if it 'works'... sort of half the battle won.
Have a nose around on here... there is a mass of information. Just try not to get too overwhelmed if you see stuff that doesn't conform to your experience. We all do the same thing even if we all approach it individually... which is the beauty of it. :)
Hi Emily, good to see a new member with a typical first projection.
Welcome to the Pulse.
Have a read of the astrql FAQ section. Feel free to start a topic or ask any questions.
Hello Emily and Welcome to the Astral Pulse! :-)
If your OBE hadn't been brief, there is a very good chance that you would not have had any memory recall of the event. It's important to keep the visits short at first. Your shock at seeing your body was most liking the factor that led to your shorter visit this time. Try not to look at your body, that usually results in a instant trip back to the Physical.
Good Luck and Safe Travels! :-)
Greetings and welcome emilykevil
Going out of body after becoming aware during a dream or a lucid dream in actually a common experience. And yet that is only one way to induce an OBE. Many people experiment with different OBE induction methods until they find a technique that works. Be patient as it may take a few weeks or months but controlled deliberate OBEs Are indeed possible.
