Title: Hi, there! Pretty new to all of this
Post by: Celestine on December 12, 2011, 13:07:22
Hi, I have always been curious about OBE's and astral travel. I have a very good friend who is a lot more spiritually advanced than I am, he is able to bring me into his mind as well as my husband. I'm not sure what the terminology is for that... but whilst exploring his mindscape, (mind you I haven't unlocked a lot of my abilities) he said that I had at least learned to make a double of myself... as the me he was following wasn't me and the 'real' me was somewhere else completely. I'm just curious to learn more about that, if anyone can help me... Because I'm pretty sure I didn't even know I could do that. Thanks in advance, hope I came to the right place.

I'm a little confused at to what it is that you're claiming your friend does.

You say that he is able to bring you into his mind?  How does he do this?  What is the process?

Do you guys like sit down and meditate together?  Does he speak and guide you while you are meditating?

To me, it sounds like he is leading you in guided meditation in imagery that he creates.  Now, I'm not denying the possibility of minds interacting in telepathic ways.  But I don't think that he's "taking you into his mind", I think he's creating an image that you are following.  He may be able to then sense your energy in his mind, which is why he describes you.  I guess my point is that I believe that you are just being led in a guided mediation, as opposed to entering this fellow's 'mindscape'.

But who knows, I could be completely wrong.

Anyway, him describing you as a double is the description of your energy body.  You aren't making your double, the double is always there, it is the other.  Perhaps you're developing and becoming more aware of your energy body, thereby putting your awareness in your energy body more than your physical body, which is what astral projection is(or whatever word you want to use for soul/spirit/mental travel).

That's the common explanation.  Others can give you more specific explanations, different twists based on their personal understanding of certain experiences.  Beyond that, read through this forum, there are all kinds of related posts that will enlighten you on certain topics of your interest.

Thank you. As I said I wasn't sure of the terminology that was used for what he has been teaching us. What you have described is part of how the process works, but we don't really speak a lot and he more wants us to tell him what we see and feel than him describing anything for us. I'm still not sure that I am explaining it very well... :| I am very glad that I found this forum and thank you again for your reply. Certainly food for thought!

Thank you BlueHalcyon!

And thank you, too, NoY!

If you don't mind me asking, what advice would you offer for what I've tried to explain? Or just what is your take on it?

Does he have pointed ears?

That's really funny! But unfortunately no, he does not have pointed ears. Thank you for the welcome and the compliment!

That's a new one; bring people into your mind. Before I believed that I would make him write down what happened after the experience and compare the notes with your and your husbands experience.

We talk about the experience as it is happening... as well as afterwards.

You'll find that you don't need to pay someone to enter there mind to experience what you're experencing. You're capable of doing it all on your own with a little practice.

We don't pay him anything.  He and my husband work at the same place and he is our friend.

I suggest you ask him what the goal in the exercise is (unless he has already told you). I see a lot of spiritual people taking on too much at a time. If your goal is to astral project or have OBE's then learn everything you can about that. I think its better to learn and practice one spiritual thing at a time, don't jumble up your mind! hehe  :-)
