Hi I've been studying this forum and articles about astral projection for a couple of weeks now, and I have found that I have naturally experienced many of the pre-exit sensations through out my life. For example sometimes before I go to sleep I can "see" a crowded city scene, and I just watch the people in it going about their business, sometimes they are walking, or talking, other times they are dancing as if in a night club. I don't hear any sound and it is very 2-Dimensional, the "picture" quality varies from silhouettes to photo realistic images.

Last night I came close to my first projection but aborted it due to fear that it might actually happen. I awoke from a non lucid dream, opened my eyes saw it was still dark outside, I felt as awake and conscious as I do now, but I thought I would try to exit. I tried the roll out technique, nothing happened. I then tried to raise my head, suddenly I felt the most intense vibrations in my head and I could actually feel my head separating. I then got scared and gave up but I then briefly "saw" my face in front of me, it was silver in colour looked slightly younger and a bit androgynous, with more hair than I've ever had, and the eyes were closed.

I hope one day I can get over the fear and just do it.

Hi,
When you try more, you lose that fear that's stopping you. Keep getting further and the exitement then stops you. Your emotions need to be controlled, these give the spooky feel and you can begin to fear things more. Dont get scared, you are in control and must know that. Whatever you think will happen so have the determination to succeed as if you are god creating a new world. You can only scare yourself, remember this and take control of the reins. You are the trailblaser and fear nothing, you will do this and have strange and wonderful tales to tell, with time naturally.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Greetings Flynn.
Fear is The biggest obstacle that most people must overcome in order to successfully get out of body. Actually any strong emotions, including positive ones, can inhibit an OBE. Szaxx is correct as repeated experiences will eventually overcome the fear barrier. And anyways Most people need several, or many, attempts before managing to get OOB. So try to remain positive, be patient and keep trying!

Good Luck  :-)
