Dreamsurfer

Hello everyone, I've been surfing the net lately to find some answers. I have a unique situation and need some guidance.
For 30 or so years I've had the pleasure of visiting with people I know who have died while I am sleeping. I've read many books having to do with dreams, astral projection, life after death and so on. I'm well aware of the difference between a dream and my visits to the other side. It's very much like going to sleep here on the physical plane and waking up on the other side. Over there is much more real than being in my human form. I e heard people who have experienced near death experiences say that it is more real than real and it is the same for me.
A typical visit experience starts with me going to sleep. Once asleep I usually find myself becoming immediately aware that I'm " over there". I then pay attention very closely to my surroundings and soon after someone will appear. As soon as I see someone  I typically have a short conversation with them. Sometimes they communicate with signs or symbols. Sometimes they give me messages about events that occurred in the past that I had no prior knowledge or interest in. I recently saw a friends father who showed my symbols to let me know that it was in fact him and also made me feel an emotion of pride for his son.
Anyway, I'm frustrated because I can't make the visits happen at will. Surely something is happening and I want to fully embrace this beautiful experience. Also looking to talk to anyone who has specifically experienced the same sort of visitations while sleeping. All responses welcome.

Experiences come and experiences go.

Clinging to them can be disappointing. Instead try to see what these strange happenings are trying to teach you. Are they a hint for something? Are they showing you a big picture of all that is? Are they inviting you to progress beyond? What do you need to do next in order to evolve?

In my opinion, and as Tom Campbell says often, such experiences are nudges from the larger reality that hint towards our own ignorance. Such experiences serve to destroy beliefs and encourage exploration.

Are they dead people? Who knows, but something higher is trying to tell you something important.
Pure Experiences : Pure Knowledge

Nameless

Hi Dreamsurfer, I have had such experiences though mine tend to lean toward the future. I see and meet people and get glimpses of how things will be but some times I see them in what I can only describe as perhaps a past life experience. Sometimes I know them as family or friends. But sometimes I see people who only later come into my life.

It is always a beautiful experience for me when this happens. So far I have rarely been able to induce such an adventure although recently I did visit my mother who is now on the other side. Interestingly my dad was there also (he has not passed over).

You are right about those exp being more real than anything here. Like you I still have not made the connection as to the point of being able to do this however I am grateful for the opportunities they allow. If nothing else they do show us that the world/reality is so much bigger than our 5 senses.

One thing I have learned and it seems to be THE most important lesson of all is this. Just go with it and allow these adventures to unfold as they will. And notice everything.

Welcome to the pulse, look around and perhaps betwixed and between us we will discover a gem.

I thank you both for your replies. I've never had a future premonition in dreamstate but that sounds interesting. I've had messages for people living and one that confirmed that what was happening was in fact real. I'll tell the story briefly... When my mother was alive I always told her about my dreams. I would see her father and mother, three times each, also many other people we know. When my mother was dying I told her to visit me. I saw her twice very briefly after she died, both times were more like signs as to her progress on the other side. The third time I saw her was a full blown conversation, approximately 45 minutes in human terms as there is no sense of time there. When I thanked her for visiting me she was adamant that I was visiting her and all the other people I had seen. THAT visit was so real it is beyond my ability to fully describe with words.

That's pretty telling that your mother insisted it was you visiting her. I know I visited my mother and that she was in no position herself at the time to visit me. I think that tells us a lot about how the NP works. It's fairly common to think of them visiting us but this definitely confirms a 'two-way' street far as I am concerned.

Trying keeping notes or a journal. It will help you down the road and also will confirm that you are indeed paying attention.

Nameless, As far as notes goes I've been writing them down for years. I could probably write a book. I guess what I really want to know is why? Why does this happen to me? How can I develop this more? I'd love to use it to help others.  I am more than willing to share everything I've written privately if it helps. I'm trying to further this ability.

You could try to use self-hypnosis.

Dreamsurfer,

You asked 'Why is this happening to me?' and 'How can I develop this more?'

I will offer a few suggestions and you are welcome to take them or leave them, in part or whole; after all, this is an individual journey for each of us; the answers must ultimately be found within ourselves.

Maybe you decided to incarnate at this time in order to further develop these abilities and share their benefit with others when needed. Learning is a life-long process and beyond, and at multiple levels, Physical world and now the Non-Physical world as you are discovering...

It doesn't necessarily mean that you make a crusade out of this ability, you just develop the ability as you would any other that catches your interest and that you have a natural talent for. You add it to your repertoire, your skill-set.

A book that I discovered just last year that may give you some ideas and insight into 'Why me, why now, why here?' is by Dolores Cannon- The Three Waves of Volunteers and the New Earth.

As to developing your skills, (other than Nameless' good advice to be open to your experiences) the best book I can currently recommend is by Kurt Leland- The Multi-Dimensional Human. This book focuses on the Phasing experience  and what Kurt describes as some twenty NP senses that can be developed and the exercises to do just that. You will likely recognize some as having already experienced them to some degree. This is the most intriguing information I have come across relating to our NP senses. He knows what he is talking about.

Hope that helps,

EscapeVelocity, Thank you for that information. It will go to good use I can assure you. It seems like a waste to ignore this gift and not share it when and where I can.
