Welcome to the Astral Pulse.

A white witch with "black" in the name.  Interesting.  :)

You might not find much here concerning magick and other wiccan related things, as we focus primarily upon Astral Projection.
I hope you find whatever answers you're looking for though.  :)

a big part of any magical practice is maintaining an astral temple as well as dreamwork and journeying.

but there isn't much in the way of "ritual" here, this is true.
be awesome.

Lol... I have been here for most of a decade, and I have no idea what an "astral temple" is... or this "astral initiation" ceremony people keep mentioning.

You mean they never threw you a surprise party in the AP temple? How rude. The cake is fantastic.

a lot of occult teachers/authors teach you to create an "astral temple" as an anchor point, a destination to move to instead of just randomly popping out of the body.  i think it may have even been stookie, but i recall one of the phasers here saying that they preferred phasing because it gave them more control of where they ended up.  it's the same principle.

"astral temples" and whatnot aside, a very very large part of any "magickal" practice is regular meditation, visualization and 'soul travel'.  in many traditions, ritual is actually taking place in the astral which is done through these various methods.  i've even been told by quite a few practitioners that the ultimate goal in their practice is to perform all rituals in astral environments (namely their temple).  all of the ritual items they use in the physical are just representations of astral energy tools.

be awesome.

Lol... you and I clearly keep different circles, PR

It might help that you work at that shop dealy where you might meet occultists in real life pretty often.

And sorry to hijack your thread, Blackorchid! Welcome to the forums!

Interesting.
I have a fairly stable environment I call "my house", which changes as I go to it (it's always in a state of building)- but I didn't consciously choose to create it, it was there in simple form when I first started consciously projecting and it has evolved as I go there and discover new rooms, etc.
I wouldn't have thought of it as a 'temple', but I guess it's the same idea.

personalreality

that's exactly what i'm talking about cft.

while the name "astral temple" has a hardcore mystical connotation, it can take any shape your choose, consciously or not.

the place that i always go, be it in meditation, AP, journeying, whatever, is a distant planet that exists in a purple hue.  it has waterfalls and a tropical oasis feel, but it's all shades of purple.  it is probably a moon because you can see a gas giant (similar to a cross between jupiter and saturn) on the horizon.  and even though it is lit up with a purple daylight, it is always nighttime and you can always see a sky full of stars.  whatever it is, this is my "safe place", my home base that i can travel from.  in one particular canyon, there is a small lagoon surrounded by waterfalls at the end.  there is a bridge that leads to a floating gazebo in the middle of the lagoon.  on the gazebo is a fire pit and a plush bench seat that wraps around.  i often go there to refresh and recharge myself.  if i put my hands in the fire i can feel myself being energized.

and, like cft, i never actually created this place.  one day i was doing a meditation that told me to go to my "safe place" and i just popped up here.  i have asked my power animal and one of my crystal skulls the nature of this place and the most consistent answer i get is that it is a place "deep in my heart".

all aside, the principle is simply a familiar environment that you feel comfortable in.

be awesome.

Some occult groups use temples during rituals - they start together in a physical temple that is designed like the astral counterpart (or vice-versa), and all end up in the "astral temple" together - they might not all go astral, I don't know, but the effect is to happen on the astral. Like the freemasons and their black & white checkered floors and pillars and throne with the sun over it. This one doesn't have the sun, but there is a big star on the ceiling in the middle. Symbolism all over the place.

Hi,Everyone.Well, its all pretty fascinating stuff.I dont know much about Astral Temples-but im willing to learn.I find all aspects of the paranormal interesting-it would get boring if everyone was a witch. And yes,i do have Black,in my name. But that is because i named myself after my favorite comic book heroine,The Black Orchid. She was my idol ,and the artists who drew her always did great pictures of her.She appears in lots of shadow, and is quite mysterious-a bit like me!
