seven.  the spiritual number.  this is what seven-seven-seven gave the world while people were oohing and aahing about nine-eleven.

it is somewhat reminiscent of Hades and Persephone,
Saturn hounding Venus in such a fashion.

But Pluto, the demoted but still there outer dark planet,
has been lurking at the edges of his home sector Scorpio
all this time. Perhaps Jupiter's expansive and friendly vibe
keeps Pluto from being as disastrous as he was September 2 2005
when he went direct after many months retrograde and squared Aquarian ruler, Uranus.

Understanding the archetypal and energetic role that Uranus and Saturn play--
vying for control of Aquarius -- can teach us alot.

All this summer the theme has been stalemate and legacy --
as outer planets visited fixed signs they ruled -- very classical,
epochal, like the age of Pisces giving way inevitably to the age of Aquarius,
which, cosmically speaking...is what Time it is.

when will Saturn leave Venus alone?  We'd all like some more play -- spontaneity and
fun in relationships, instead of the grind and dull heaviness of "not practical, not here,
not now..." that Saturn lends to Venus as he has since the Mercury retrograde of June
and July, 2007.

People are confused.  As in the whole stupid "Venus Lucifer" fracas.  You know who started that, right?
Men.

And of course perhaps old Saturn was conjuncting Venus when that began.

The Ides of March.  You wanna try casting this chart?  I do. Oh, do I ever!

cataleptik

A mars-moon meeting like that is similar in nature to a Venus - Saturn conjunction,
but the 'resistance to love' factor is way, way lower.  Passion can run high and shock us.
Also, the duration is far more brief. Luna is racing across the skies compared to ponderous,
slow Saturn who saturates poor Aphrodite during his transit period.

It's happening now. It's not catastrophic like when Pluto stopped retrograding
and immediately began squaring Uranus 9.02.05 the day that Katrina devastared N. O.

Venus - Saturn proximation...is more like "on, and on, and on, so dull, dull, when will it end?"

And there is the Satyr to contend with.  The satyr's not the calm and reliable lover that Capricorn is known to be,
but more like the lecherous raper, like Goat foot Pan, who is not about wine and dance, but taking you,
regardless of your say in the matter.  Care is advised for, and Saturn, especially when Venus is there
is famous for saying "who cares?" and taking what it wants.

This is about pure planetary energy, not sun sign energy.

The individual's chart is a melange of many planetary influences.

this is all about the togetherness that aquarius represents astrally.

compared to the cold stiffness of the fixed square in outer planets
(pluto in late scorpio, uranus maturing in aquarius)

the configuration referred to is cozy, and aquarius prefers cozy,
generally.

it was one of those paperbacks on a friend's overcrowded shelf in a group house.
i don't even remember the title of the book. but the chapter title i recollect.
"the nightmare of astrology" was the title of the chapter...

the tilt of the earth creates a viewable phenomenon, the precession of equinoxes.  but
precession is the sort of phenomenon that can be easily viewed over hundreds and hundreds of of years...
...in other words, it's the sort of thing that Copernicus would have noted had he gotten his hands on some notes
that Ptolemy had taken.  It's the constellations viewable from the horizon, slowly shifting in the skies
over our heads.

maybe it is an aquarian thing -- the movement of astrology away from the ego-biased sun-sign traditions that we have
come to know respect and love, in the years of pop astrology's rise from the place
that the RC Church basically forced astrology into in the 1400s and 1500s.

But that's what happened.  A Catholic pope named Gregory is where the Gregorian calendar
gets its title, and along the way there was enforced a great separation between the movement
of the stars and planets through the heavens, and people's understanding of the time factor
of that connection in western astrology.  and it does create something nightmarish...

people get attached to their self perceptions as astrologers have laid them out for them.
to people on a sincere quest for self knowledge, identifying themselves by sun in, moon in,
mars and venus in, and ascending becomes who they really are...

...and as such, if that information is based on out-of-sync ephemera then people
can truly develop a false persona, a false ego based on what they THINK that they are
SUPPOSED to be.

my favorite analogy is about daylight savings time which is practiced in the United States.
If on the day that we are all supposed to set our watches one hour back, i refused --
for that whole cycle i would be an hour off from everyone else.
it would be from comedic to ridiculous if i went places with my watch off by an hour,
and insisted that everyone else was wrong...job interviews, dates, emergencies...

cataleptik

so what would happen?  ideally, astrology would
via the galvanizing crucible of scrutiny begin to
make more sense -- be more rational and helpful
by actually aligning the information that astrologers
share with what is happening in the sky.  a lot of what
i am saying here is theoretical, yet i have found it uncanny
that the understanding i have gained of the idea
of the aquarius and the Uranian energy makes a sort of sense:

the aquarius mentality is often viewed as "aberrant" or "rebellious" --
but i have to look in things in terms of the the aquarius idea representing
an entire age or a 2000 year period -- and as such it also represents
the qualities lacked in the age now ending, the piscean age.

so qualities like thinking of everyone, the agape sort of love that is transpersonal -
go along with qualities like visionary thought -- the inventor as hero,
people like R Buckminster Fuller, Jonas Salk and others who had great contributions
for everyone aboard "Spaceship Earth" as Fuller put it.

Pluto Squares Uranus:

this has been going on for a while. Pluto and Uranus have some characteristics astrology that
they seem to have in common.  Uranus deals with upheavals, Pluto with destruction.

Uranus deals with sudden realisations -- Pluto with transformations and legacies.

2005 September 2:  retrograding pluto stations for redirection in scorpio.
at the same time Uranus is at home in Aquarius.  and that was the day Katrina tore into new orleans.

read tropically or sidereally, the retrograde ended regardless.  Results were damages in the billions.

Now Pluto travels in apparent retrograde motion again -- and this is the magic of predictive astrology.
Although I would not dare say WHAT will happen when Pluto reassumes direct motion -- it will be an interesting day
for those who monitor earth changes.
