The AlphaOmega

Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring, let alone years into the future.  I don't know where this 2012 thing got started, probably someone posting something about a demon war.  In any case, when 2012 rolls around and the world is still in tact, or not, I know it won't be because of the year.  For all we know someone might get obsessed with this year and then MAKE something happen because of it, then everyone will go off on THAT being prophetic or something.  Just another year that will come and go just as all the rest have since the beginning of man.  Maybe something monumental will happen, but what qualifies as monumental anyways?  One thing is for certain, we are in 2004 right now, and whatever 2012 will bring, lets cross that bridge when we come to it.  Worry about now!

Perhaps 'worry' is the wrong word

Perhaps you're right.  Maybe live in the moment would be more appropriate?

sorry, the original thread wouldnt allw for reply.

Funny thing is, as my hopes for the future are chaotic in demand, I'm not going to laugh if nothing happens on the date of 12/21/2012.
People seem to expect something like a global enlightening, or apocolypse. These things are always let downs for apocolyptic enthusiasts, such high hopes for something so beyond understanding.
May be nothing will happen. Of course everything could happen. One thing is true though, out of all the civilizations on this planet that have existed, the maya have been the most accurate in prediction. Not as people would think in prophecy, but through astronomical value in living. They were incredible at these things which is why their harvests flourished and their culture still even now exists in certain aspects.
Look at their little revelations at a different aspect. They found Pacal Votan to be part human part god (part alien to us sci-fi freaks), or their own version of a messiah. Read into their histories as much as possible and youll find a very human man who lead his people.

A certain aspect of apocolypse is that in truth it means unveiling, not ending.
Even looking at it in this way we dont have to come to the conclusion that everyone on the planet will out of nowhere understand the universe. The reverse in actuallity may be true. Perhaps our own society and culture will come to the peak of its violent nature, not necessarilly destroying itself and come to any breaking point, but just be at an all time high. It could mean that at this point, only one, or even just a few people will become enlightened and move on from such a material realm. We dont need the world in order to unite, just a few.
Dont expect to realize nirvana at the maya end date, in fact to expect to come to an ending. Expect that an air of change will occur, but just not on the global scale that everyone seems to think.
Maybe its just a charter, a point in history when someone does come to realization of who they actually are in the world, and some time later, lead the rest of the world (or that part that would follow him)into the new age, and that might not even be till 2033 or later. Hell this person could be the antichrist for all intents and purposes.

The point is, dont sit around fretting what will happen, and dont have high expectations of some great revelation, and definately do not scoff at those who believe in something with all their soul and heart, because it is belief that moves the world.
Sometimes you just need to know that people have the faith in their belief to do something different.
