i dont know where exactly to post this but the wierdest thing happened to me in school today.  i was walking down the hall with lindsey (one of my friends who moved to the U.S. from brazil) and kate (friend from brazil also) passes by and sais to lindsey "international club is meeting in the cafeteria durring homeroom tomorrow"  and then she walked away and i said to lindsey  "last time i went to the cafeteria durring homeroom for international club,  no one was there"  and she's like "how did you know what we were talking about"  and i just looked at her weird and she said "how did you understand what we were saying?"  and i'm like "because you said it in english"  and she said "no i didnt!"  and i said "yes you did"  and we went back and forth like that a couple times and i said to this other girl that was walking with us "didnt she speak english?!"  and she's smiling and said " i distinctly heard not english"  thats when i got weirded out.

the point being,  she spoke portuguese (the native language of brazil) and i dont speak portuguese and i understood her.  what the heck was that?!

it's funny. "kate" and "lindsey" aren't names in the portuguese language.
at least in the country where the native language of brasil originated ^^

erm i must say sometimes when i'm talking to my african friends and they speak in crioulo i sometimes kinda hear what they say in portuguese.

Greetings.   I would say that if you did in fact understand them in Portuguese that it was simply a mental phenomenon of your own deeper mind.  If you ever remember your dreams... we can sometimes do phenomenal things which we usually can't in waking life.

I remember in dreams where I would read passages in books from memory which I have not consciously remembered... try to do that awake!  What if our deeper mental database actually has recorded everything you have ever thought and heard... not just from yourself, but everyone, everything you have ever encountered?
"I hear and I forget... I see and I remember... I do and I understand."
