prophetic dream

Note: I just made this post in the Dreams forum, but this sounded like it was also appropriate.

Over the past year I've been having dreams that would come true within the following few days (usually the next day). Most of them have been very pointless/useless things, like:

1. Dream about a former TV personality, who hasn't been on TV in a long time, and the very next morning he was the first thing I saw when I switched the tv on.

2. Dream about someone offers me something as a gift that I haven't had in a long time. The next day it comes true.

3. etc...

But some of them have been more serious. My brother used to use cocaine and has troubles with various addictions, like Grass, Alcohol and Gambling. He's been off cocaine for 8 months. Last week I had 3 very vivid dreams about him. One of them was that he was doing cocaine again and this was last Thursday.

Today I was talking with him and as a joke I asked him if he has done cocaine recently and he denied it. Then I told him about my dream and later he confessed that the dream was true and he did it on Friday night.

In retrospect I wish I had of called him Friday morning and warned him... but I guess it was his fate.

So my question is, how can I develop this skill further to focus on things that are of more importance, like my brother's cocaine ordeal. Are there any techniques that will improve this?

A few years ago I used to keep a dream journal, and did that for a few months until I got bored and went onto something else...

Once upon a times,I was dreamed like this. But,there weren't any changes that I can do.

One day,I saw myself in front a mirror and I was trying to brush my teeth with just one hand. I hadn't seen such a bathroom ever. I didn't understand why?

Then,after 1 week,I went to my friend in another city and when I was ice-skating,I broke off the tendone of my finger. So that night,I brushed my teeth with also one hands and in that bathroom where is the same with my dream.

Now,I don't interest prophetic dreams.

That times,I tried to be faraway from the daily-life. It worked.
