I've tried doing automatic art,as its called, but its always harder not to include ones one mental desires and feelings into the pictures being drawn.
Hence I've always been a bit skeptical of the surrealist painters claiming that they are only painting from the subconscious. Its just to hard to not leave some sort of conscious impression in the art being made.

I ended up with similar designs , lots of loops and organic curves. I think this is due in fact to the energy vibration flowing through. similar sorts of pulsing wavy lines. Maybe I'm just trying to harness the energy in the wrong way.

I've been painting and drawing for quite some time, more often than not with some degree of effortlessness, and other times really having to force ideas to become pictures.

It seem though that in the past couple of years, after asking my guides for help in making my art more positive, that a transition in my techniques have improved a thousandfold, and that every bit of artwork has become rather effortless. Even when experimenting with way out materials or colors , that every bit of work just seems to work out. I even amaze myself at how easy it seems t be.
In a way this is similar to channeled art, but I see it as a gift given to me to utilize. When painting I just tend to zone out and not try to use any logical reasoning for creating, just feeling and using that intuitive sense that most people have.
I don't know maybe it was always there, and maybe I've just woken up to the reasoning behind it all now.
It seems that most great artists whether they be musicians or painters, dancers etc say that they just become a channel for this creative energy that envelopes them.
I tend to agree.

Anyway , I would be interested to know about your further involvement with automatic drawing if you've had any since the last post,

:D

It seems that not all that long ago

Are we talking about automatic writing here or psychic artwork??

I guess that it doesn't really matter the name, as both come from the same source - spirit - but one relates to the written word and one relates to artwork produced.

I tend to do a lot of automatic writing - well I go through stages of doing alot of it.  I don't force it - it doesn't work when I decide it simply MUST come up with an answer for me.  Often I will just get the urge to grab a pen and paper and begin scribbling at a hundred miles and hour.  It is amazing how the handwriting changes with different spirits that come through.  I usually have a thought or two that I begin by writing and then the pen takes over and I end up reading what i've written and being amazed at the results!!
And he said "Let there be light", and so there was.

someone care to explain this "automatic art" or "psychic art"?

How does it work? Can someone give an example of a technique or what to expect... It sounds very exciting.

Wizzard,

If you don't mind me asking what sort of writings do you channel?

Hi maddutchman,

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I've not been near my computer since the last post!

I have channelled all kinds of information, depending on what has been happening in my life or those around me.  I have had questions I've been pondering get answered, I've had information for friends come through giving advice on issues that are going on in their lives - sometimes issues I'm not even aware of myself!  I've been given information which has helped me to find direction in my life, and I've had article-type channelling come through on some general topics, which I've shared with a few friends.

I do psychic art now myself, but I draw people's guides or spirit that is around them, and then I bring through messages - and often these messages come through automatic writing.

Often I don't really know what is coming through, until after wards when I read it myself!
And he said "Let there be light", and so there was.

I've been into automatism  (automatic drawingpainting ) for a number of years now.I've just finished an acrylic abstract automatic painting, & am working on a second one, which is turtning out very different from the first one.I'd say that my art is approximately 80% automatic, & 20%...I don't know how to describe this...I see "flashes" of what the design should be on the canvas or paper.I then just manifest the design as closely as I can, to what I saw. It's actually a type of "painting/drawing meditation".

I've also got another idea for an automatist approach: I create/channel the drawing on a small piece of paper, then I can take that design, & turn it into a larger painting, as faithful to the origional drawing as I can.

I've tried to find other artists who do stuff resembling mine, but I can't find any  .Not on the internet, or in the library.I would guess this to be a good thing. The closest I can think of, is maybe a more abstract form of some of Alfred Pellan's works (from Quebec, associated w/the "automatistes" movement). It really doesn't resemble anyone I can think of.My drawings/paintings seem to have a kind of underlying geometric architecture, but still very, very free flow form.

I'd like to get my art published, & in galleries, but I'm in the early stages of this.
