this is the first time it has happened but i am quite annoyed by it.
I had my first fully successful OBE or astral projection about 2 weeks ago, where i had full sight, sound, and tactile. So that made me very happy.
Now that I know what to look for and feel, I have been practising more and been very close each time I do it but I have been foiled! Why? my cat!
The first time i projected she was there and didn't do anything.
But each time and in particular last night, every time i would get the vibrations to start going out, uncannily, she would stand up and rub against my arm as i lay there , which needless to say snapped me out of it.

This happened not once or twice but three times! So essentially she seemed to know when i was about to leave and would purposely distract me. It was very aggravating. So she made me waste 2 hours which would have been successful in like 30 mins..
This seems to speak to me of cats having some kind of sixth sense or natural vision in the astral. what do you guys think?
Any other animal or cat stories?
Next time i am locking her out of the room lol.
Its like she didnt want me to go aww. >:(

soli

don't worry.. yesterday the dog was barking outside and I was the only one who could let her in so, I guess I'll have to make sure she's inside next time. It's almost like we need to come up with a preparation distraction list.

Heheh. Those little guys seem to know exactly when and where you don't want them, and show up at that time and place.

I'll share a few stories of mine.

One time back in December, I was in bed practicing. I just reached hypnagogia when one of the cats jumped on the bed and hollered in my ear.

Then several times I was practicing at night before going to sleep and the same cat was sleeping at the foot of the bed. Just as I reached F10, she decided to get up, scratch, and walk around the bed to get attention.

sahgwa

thanks guys very funny :) and sad too i feel your annoyance ;)
Problem with cats is as you probably know if you lock them out they become even more annoying because they can't stand closed doors and just stand there miawing at it until you open up. hmm what to do..

i think that since both your cat and mine moved only when we were starting to vibrate and leave maybe these particular motions feel bad to cats? or maybe they can 'see' the change in the astral?
i wonder how it relates to cats as familiars in magic.
feel free to share your other experiences with animals everyone ^^

I had a cat once, and he really doesn't distract me often (except when I'm on the computer for hours and then he jumps on my back). But one night, I was sleeping, and I remember having a lucid dream, VERY lucid, and then I felt a terrible pain in my leg. It felt like someone pinch an area of skin and twisted it with a stapler remover. I knew instantly it was a cat bite. It made my dream fade away, bringing me more to conscious. So I woke up, irritated and mad, and found my cat's tail hurrying away from the bed. He's NEVER bitten me like that before so I always wondered why? Maybe he sensed me about to cross some astral/lucid barrier?

My cat makes it hard to AP in the mornings, because she's all over me trying to get me up after my husband wakes up and goes about his day. In fact, I anticipated her so strongly once that I terminated just after separating, nervous that my cat would be jumping on me at any moment. And when I came to, there she was about to jump on my bed.

She'll sleep on the bed for hours during the day after we've gotten up. I want to reach over and pet her when I see her there but I find myself worrying that I might interfere with her projecting. I wouldn't know either way if that's what she's doing. :D

Animals can be quite the source of interruptions, can't they?  :)

hehe, I've done the reverse!
the first time I ever got out I for some reason looked into my sisters room and saw my cat sleeping on her bed.. I went up and put my hand on the cat and she nearly hit the sealing she was so scared!

rcolumbusk

This seems to be an old topic, but fun! :P  My cat has the bad habit of trying to sleep on my upper chest every time I try to project, and chasing and staring at things no one else can see, giving me the creeps :P  I wouldn't be shocked if animals, especially cats, can see things we usually can't, but judging from their overall personalities they may just be completely insane :D

radman32

Hahaha, i believe so too, that cats are insane and are comfortable allowing themselves into those states. It is similar in the ways I perceive third eye vision and the ways cats pupils are slitted. Maybe they actually see third eye visions constantly XD ... and everyone knows cats are energy sensitive :P

Cats actually have an amazing 6th sense. i have to close my door whenever i project cause that's when my cats decided to claw at me. Idk how you project pr, when your cat's messing with your leg >.<......... :-D

This has happened to me.  I put my cats out before I try anything.

I think all animals have this kind of innate ability.
Humans could really learn a thing or two from animals.

When I was younger I had a dog, and she knew before anyone else that my budgie at the time was close to death.
That dog hung out at the side of the cage for HOURS that day... she never did that before.

when i projected the other day i felt my kitten (Guppy Von Guppenburg III) lay down on my leg.  i didn't feel it in my "astral leg".  i felt it in my physical leg while my mind was focused on the astral, and i was simultaneously aware of both.  i would have thought that something like that would bring me back to my body instantly, but it didn't, it just happened and my astral adventure didn't miss a beat.

be awesome.

CFTraveler

That reminded me of an astral adventure I had with my kitty (a few years ago) that used to sit on my lap when I projected.  Thanks.

I have five cats in my house with me.  Sometimes, they will look, and they are 'looking at something', so it's obvious that they can see into the multifolded layers of reality.  They look at it, and I say, "What do you see?  Tell me!!" and then they tell me or they don't, I don't always understand them.

Booba, he is a very priestly little boy.  He walks back and forth in the house, calling out, "Jehovah!! Help!! Help him, he's such a nice man, help Jehovah!!"  So I love him very much.  And when I told him, "Now you call on Christ until he comes."  Booba said, "I don't know about that Christ, he makes me feel like an idiot."  because, apparently, I can easily communicate with animals and trees and things like that, so I understand what they are saying.  Yes, true, they speak what they hear, plain english, just english stuffed into a cat's throat.

I have to wonder though, if Booba and Loki and the others are actually draining my consciousness out.  I don't dream really, unless I'm away from the cats.  If I'm away from the cats, sure as an old sock worn through, I start flying out of my body and going to these mystical cities everywhere, but it's not at all lucid, it's just fragmented visions.  And if a cat is in bed with me, and I go to sleep, I'll even have nightmares, and wake up feeling like a little psionic vampire had been sucking gently on my soul all night long.

Gotta wonder about those cats, but definitely, they can see into the astral at any given moment.

I know this old, but it made me think of an OBE I had when I lived on my own with my two cats Cleo and Deja.

One night I felt myself roll out of my body. I was laying in bed right next to my physical body and I looked up and saw Deja hanging UPSIDE DOWN from the ceiling! I thought, what is she doing up there? Then I started to get really scared. Maybe there was a spirit holding her up there and I just couldn't see the spirit! Then she quickly fell, still in an UPSIDE DOWN FEET UP position and stopped about two inches from the top of my bed. There she was suspended in mid-air. Then I REALLY started to freak out! I snapped myself back in to my body from the fear and saw both Deja and Cleo were at the foot of my bed sleeping peacefully.

So strange...
Maybe Deja would have made a good "teacher?" Hahaha.

Funny.
I think she was trying out her flying skills while out of body, and she wasn't very good yet...

I also have a cat that started sleeping on my chest when I began projecting. what is it about cats?

CFTraveler

They see beyond the energy spectrum that is visible to us- they see movement (their peripheral vision is better, although they can't see a lot of detail) so I imagine this may translate as being able to see higher frequencies (or lower, as in infrared)- but this is only speculation.
Also, they are cool.

My friend projected a while back and said he was just flying around the neighborhood, checking things out, and he saw, walking on a slant roof, an astral dog. He said the dog looked at him and kind of "smiled". Pretty cool.

My cat loves to jump on the bed and scare the life out of me while I'm trying to project. She also watches invisable things and follows them with her eyes. I don't know what that's about but she just sits there and her eyes move slowly across the room and nothing seems to be there. Maybe it's ghost mice!
