Intention Exercises and Thoughts

Hey guys. Just had a few thoughts about the transforming power of intention. Has anyone put together a program over say a few months, of consistent intention based exercises with verifiable results? The way I figure it is, while you're in a trance state, the connection between you and the universal net strengthens. It's able to hear you and you're able to hear it a lot better. When you envision yourself as having attained the goal of your intention i.e. lose 5 kilos, it's not as if it happens magically. It's more like the external 'you' hears that, and works in sync with it, opening up those possibilities to you in your everyday life so that you see those possibilities and are able to take advantage of them when they come, and with greater ease. You still have to actively pursue it, it's just that now someone else has your best interests at heart too; the external 'you', and is working with you to help make your intention a reality (as long as the intention is succinct with the nature of the external 'you' i.e. i'm not entirely sure if your external self would be rushing to bring together the coincidences necessary for you to bring harm to yourself or the external self)

Also, there was something I saw about neural memory in the muscles of bodybuilders. The muscles have a sort of neural path memory that allows them to build bulk faster or respond to training better, because the exercise has already been done in the past. What I was thinking is that it's a similar thing with intention. You're paving the neural pathway so to speak, and the universe can't tell the difference between the intention based exercise and normal everyday waking life. Although in normal everyday waking life your intention is not realised, the external 'you' is receiving this intention fueled energy (your voice is louder when you can still the flow of thoughts, hold onto your own and magnify them in a trance state) and tries to form a synchronicity between this intention and your normal waking life by allowing the opportunities to foster your intention to be seen by you and taken advantage of.

But back to it. Has anyone put down some intentions during their energy work? I figure that the lower the statistical possibility of your intention eventuating i.e. breed a pig that can shoot laser beams out of its snout, the longer it will take to eventuate, and also that if the intention isn't in harmony with the external that it won't eventuate at all. I figure this because the amount of people feeding the idea that pigs can be bred to shoot laser beams out of their snouts is pretty much nil, so you've got a lot of people out there saying NO to that intention, and it outweighs your meager YES. but if it's something like be fit, be healthy, i'm sure that would work. "But that doesn't prove anything, maybe the intention exercise just implanted the intention in the individuals mind and spurned him to act on it because it became a prominent intention in his everyday life." Maybe. So what other intentions when laid out can be seen to be 'miraculous' when they eventuate? Something that requires your external world being affected, and people within your external world to stand up and take notice maybe, like writing a best selling novel or receiving acclaim somehow.

Anyway I'm just thinking out loud. Feel free to criticise. Please, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this guys.

That's very similar how I view intention. Intention is not just about the moment, but creating a pattern of it in your life. The subconscious is a powerful thing and you can program it to your liking through intention. I constantly drop and pick-up new habits when beneficial. If you don't carry the intention past meditation, then it's possible your "intent" isn't really strong enough, just a base desire.

As you meditate and enter trance more and more, you're strengthening your level of concentration and where you focus your attention. Not only can you use this to place intention at the moment, but it'll start to carry over into everyday life. That connection that you make then will seep it's way into all your decisions.

I also find it important to find that "higher" or more intuitive part of yourself in making decisions so as to not place intention in vain, selfish, or just plain ridiculous ways. Art is a good example of displaying intent. I suppose a good art critic would be someone who could see the artists' intention behind the physical work.

Good topic.

Really?

Not one idea? Not even a theoretical outline of an intention based exercise? Well. That's okay. Because I'd like to share.

I recently added intention to my meditation routine. after i've entered a reasonable level of trance, I consciously hold the ideal that my body is fit, and healthy, right now. I imagine lying in my bed, as I am, but with a fitter, healthier body. I do this for at least 5 minutes during each meditation session.

A set of circumstances occurred in my life recently that have motivated me to start working out more and generally try and be a little more healthy with my eating habits. It's funny how the circumstances that surround you to goad you towards your intention play on the delicate and unique structure of your identity ie. if you're motivated by fear mostly, you will be made fearful by your external environment. If you're motivated by love, the external environment will nurture the qualities necessary to push you towards your intention. So in itself, the exercise proves to be a mirror into ones own attachments and concepts of identity. Interesting.

I'm not entirely sure of how this is going to play out, but it's a lot of fun finding out. I'll keep you guys posted as to how it all works out. I'm adding multiple intentions to test wether or not multiple intentions can eventuate, at what order or rate they occur, how long it takes to generate different levels of intention (ie. a chocolate bar as opposed to contentment or a long term ideal), and how much the energetic bodys structural integrity and energetic capacity affect the deliverance of intention to the external.

Wish me luck guys. Tinkering with the mechanics of intention. What could possibly go wrong?  :-D

PS: Thanks for the response Stookie.

Not sure if this is entirely relevant, but when I was a kid I programmed my mind and environment much better than I seem to do now. :|

I once placed a desire to have a TV in my bedroom in my mind. This is a big deal for a kid of 10. I ate, slept and breathed this desire, but I never expressed it to my parents. I believed with my whole being that a TV would materialize in my room.

Well, a few weeks later when I have all but forgotten to daily eat, breath and sleep "The TV" my parents suddenly moved the TV into my bedroom when they decided to upgrade to something bigger.

The point I think is that one must believe in your intention and let it consume you for a while and then almost reach a point where you let go so it no longer consumes you. Then it will happen. Or not, I don't know, its just a suggestion.

I've heard of exercises like that. You put your energy into your particular intent, and the "release" it into the universe.

Maybe visualize a balloon with a basket, and put your intent into the basket, and when your sure it's all in there, let it go. To make it even better, keep the balloon tied down for a couple weeks and keep adding to it before you cut it loose. You could even create your own "Cutting-Loose Ceremony" ritual with an actual balloon to make an even bigger impression.

That might be a good way to visualize your feeling of intent and impress it on your subconscious.

Bruce Moen does a lot of that kind of "intention" building stuff.
