Where's the crystal shop over here?
Greetings Adrian,
I saw few unpolished rose quartz crystals for sale nearby. Which one you are looking for?

Greetings Timeless,
Thank you very much indeed for the excellent information!
Just one followup question for everyones benefit - how are these crystals used in practice? For example, if the purpose was Astral projection, meditation, communication with the higher spheres etc., does one simply hold the crystal in a hand, or place one within the region of a chakra? The latter seems to me to involved quite a balancing act [:)]
With best regards,
Adrian.
Oh, I thought you meant in the Astral Pulse! [:D]
Here's a site I found with a lot of crystals. www.mythnlynx.com/HHG.html
I usually hold the crystals in my hand, but when attempting to project I am usually lying flat on my back and set crystal on different chakras depending on which crystals I am using.
I had an experience a little bit like timeless's in which I set a clear crystal quartz on my brow chakra when I went to sleep and when I awoke the next morning I was able to see living auras as plain as day for about 4 hours. It was an incredible experience as it was the first time I had seen an aura. Clear quartz is an enhancer and in my experiences a splendid one.

To be honest I am not sure. I am still researching this area really.
I am going to phone the local crystal shop tomorrow first to see if they can get unpolished quartz. I will let you know if they can't.
Thanks!

wow! i was thinking about posting a topic on crystals recently. thanks for doing it for me Adrian [:D]
I have a question for those in the know. Are birthstones more powerful with the people who have them as their birthstone? In other words, my birthstone is topaz, so would topaz be a powerful crystal for me?
Greetings Timeless,
Thank you very much indeed for your time in discussing this important topic.
I propose to move this topic to the General Metaphysics forum where it is most appropriate. I am not sure about the topic in the crystal Lucid Dreaming forum - do you want to leave it there or move that one to General Metaphysics as well?
As for crystal types, personally I am most interested in quartz in all of its variations.
Thanks again.
With best regards,
Adrian.

I agree with this 100%, different crystals of the same type can have very different effects on you. In fact I tend to use crystals that I find (I dig holes a lot and look for stones that I think are cool looking, I collect stones). Here is a short story to illustrate my point.
One time when I was 7 years old I was out of school for the summer and I was home alone. I was bored so I went out side and started playing in the mud, it had rained earlier that day. After a while and several feet deeper into the earth I found a beat up clear quartz crystal. Mind you this was about 10 feet down, anyway the thing was full of cracks, it had chips out of the sides, but now although it is definitely the most damaged of all the crystals I own, I always use it as I recieve a greater benefit from it than I do other crystals of the same kind.
Now I realize that digging holes to find stones seems like it would be a waste of time especially considering that you might not find anything, but I have found that crystals I find in nature are much more effective when used in conjunction with spiritual and metaphysical practices. I live in the Sonoran desert in Arizona, US I don't find crystals near my house all that often I normally get them when I am traveling so this might be something to consider doing when traveling from now on, searching for stones that is.

I would like to keep all the crystal information in one place if possible. Perhaps keep it a sticky for just a while then unsticky it when the discussion winds down.
Quartz is an excellent place to start. Perhaps when you post in General Metaphysics you can ask specific questions about quartz and its uses that you have.

Well here is the crystal discussion in General Metaphysics [:)]
I think we should start with quartz as it does seem to have special properties. Perhaps we could start by discussing which quartz for which chakra, and then take a look at quartz for specific purposes such as meditation, Astral projection etc..
With best regards,
Adrian.
timeless directed me to this site a while back and it has a lot of information about different stones.
http://www.majestic-quartz.com/%7Ehealing/infopics/s/crystal-properties.htm
That page is where you can find some information about Smoky Quartz. The site says that it is aligned with all 3 of the lower chakras but I have found personally that it is best when used with the root chakra. Smoky deflects negative energies and is great for just leaving around the house to keep negative energies away from you.
http://www.majestic-quartz.com/%7Ehealing/infopics/r/crystal-properties.htm
Next here is Rose Quartz, as I am sure you already know this stone is aligned with the heart chakra as is just about any pink stones in existance. I find this stone to be particularly beneficial when doing the twin heart meditation.
Also on that page is Rutilated Quartz, I have not worked with this one much as I have only had it for a couple of weeks. Although in my experiences I have found it works best in conjunction with the crown chakra. Again I use this crystal during the twin heart meditation.
http://www.majestic-quartz.com/%7Ehealing/infopics/q/crystal-properties.htm
Above is a page which includes many different forms of the classic clear quartz. Clear quartz is aligned with all chakras fairly well and I generally use it to fill in the gaps where I don't have a specific stone suited for the task. I enjoy falling asleep with a clear quartz on my brow chakra, I usually wake up energized and able to see auras readily for a couple of hours. This is my favorite of all stones as it is suited for just about everything.
http://www.majestic-quartz.com/%7Ehealing/infopics/h/crystal-properties.htm
Here is a link to Herkimer Diamond Quartz Crystal. This is probably the most powerful stone that I have ever used but it is more expensive and sort of difficult to find. This is just a clear quartz stone only much more difficult to come by as it only forms in a few locations around the world. Again I use this to fill in gaps where I don't have specific stones.
I am not real knowledgeable about quartz as I tend to use other stones. Quartz is generally not something that I can find and because I have found the stones I find in nature are more effective I use them. If you want to discuss normal stones (turquoise, petrified wood, and obsidian just to name a few) not crystals I will be able to help more.

Greetings Links Shadow,
Thank you very much indeed for the information and links - most interesting!
I am most interested in which quartz is best suited to the upper main triangle of chakras - Crown, Brow and Heart.
I am also intrigued as to how people manage to sleep while balancing quartz crystals on the various chakras [:)]
With best regards,
Adrian.
Greetings Timeless,
This is certainly a most interesting topic - I think I will keep it sticky ad-infinitum the way it is going. The other topic I would like to start sometime is on the subject of herbs - but we can keep that for another day [:)]
Thanks for the further information as to which crystals for which chakras. We are informed from higher beings that the three most important chakras are Crown, Brow and Heart as these are the ones that connect us to the higher states of reality. It is these three which are considered to be the upper triange of chakras, but of course there is the throat chakra to consider as well; important for communications.
I am not sure about working with the lower chakras first. I realise these are responsible for grounding etc., but thet are also associated with lower energies as well which is not a good thing. I am of the view that is one can get all of the upper chakras working, the lower chakras will take care of themselves.
The most important chakra is the Heart chakra we are told, and when the Heart chakra is fully activated the Crown and Brow will follow.
Regarding sleeping with these crystals, are you saying in effect that all one needs to do is to hold them in the hand?
Thanks again.
I have added the Majestic Quartz site to the Astral Pulse links library.
With best regards,
Adrian.
Greetings Timeless,
Just a quick response for now, it is getting late here.
Thanks very much for your views on the lower chakras, certainly worth keeping in mind when doing energy and/or chakra work.
I am interested in how you meditate on the chakras in conjunction with crystals. I am familiar with chakra meditation in the form of spinning vortices of the appropriate colour.
Regarding keeping topics sticky, I do it to maintain valuable information always available. If an important topic like all those in the Astral Consciousness forum are taken off sticky, they quickly disappear if no one posts against the topic for a day or two. There will always be some members who find sticky topics annoying, but I believe the vast majority find them of benefit, and there is a constant series of posts against them in support of that fact.
This is certainly shaping up to be a valuable reference topic.
With best regards,
Adrian.
Dear timeless,
I am not sure exactly what you want to know but I try to expand upon my statement.
Petrified wood is a truly extraordinary stone for working with the root chakra especially if you are grounding yourself. Petrified wood helps one connect to the earth and calm the mind. As just about everyone knows the earth is a great source of relatively pure energy. I have a little bit of an edge over most people as in Arizona where I live there is the "Petrified Forest" and although it is national park and illegal to take stones from the area, my great grandfather was a native american and laws about taking things from the land did not apply to him, he took many stumps and chunks of petrified wood because he knew of the spiritual properties of it. The stumps and chucks of wood he took have been passed down generation to generation and now they are in my possession.
I have a large tree stump that I often meditate on. When meditating on this stump I have found that during meditation I am often approached by a brown female figure which I believe is the spirit of the earth (mother nature). I have heard of people on the forum having similar experiences but with a green figure. I think this may be because I associate brown with the earth more than I do green. For the longest time it was difficult for me to communicate with her as my throat chakra was not well developed so I would definitely recommend working on this chakra for people working with petrified wood just in case you get to meet her, she is really interesting. Also, I have read that petrified wood is supposed to help with past life regressions, learning about your previous lives. I have yet to experience any thing to this effect but it is still a possiblity.
So to sum up petrified wood is good for grounding, calming the mind and connecting to the earth. I have never experienced any surges of energy when working with it, I definitely notice the energy after I have finished meditating. When I do the twin heart meditation I often use petrified wood to help me direct the energy to the earth.
When buying petrified wood it is best to get a complete layer of the tree where you can see all of the rings. Sometimes you will see pieces which looking like they have little swirls on the surface and it is difficult to see all of the tree rings clearly; I recommend staying away from this as I have found that these swirls tend to scatter energy instead of focusing it. I have found though that it really does not matter the size or thickness of the stone as long as it is a complete cross-section of the tree. You can tell if it is by the edges, they will be rough because of the tree bark.
I hope I have told you what you wanted to know but if not let me know.
Dear Adrian,
You asked about how to meditate while using the stones. Sometimes I do what you described imagining not vortexs but spinning spheres of colored light. For example, the root chakra is a red sphere with bits of white light mixed in about the size of a tennis ball. I always incorporate a little bit of white light along with the color, I find it makes it easier to maintain the image in my mind.
What I normally do is just meditate like normal except at the beginning I say an affirmation like, "Blesses lord allow energies to flow through the crystals and become pure." Just a simple statement like this seems to direct energy to either come from the crystal to where ever it should go or allows other energies to go into the crystals and be transformed. I meditate just like I normally would except I either hold crystal or position them in a circle around my body. Just like everything else on this site it is best to experiment and see what works best for you but I hope this gives you some ideas.

I don' mean to intrude in this discussion ... but I've always been curious ... does a crystals dimensions mean much or is just a composition thing?
Dear Grigori,
"does a crystals dimensions mean much or is just a composition thing?"
I am not sure exactly what you mean by dimensions, but if you mean dimension as in size, I don't believe it makes much difference and that the compostion of the stone is much more important.
Dear timeless,
"The two [chakras] in the hand and two in the souls of the feet."
These are the "major" minor chakras that Robert Bruce describes in his NEW energy ways. I agree that these are very important areas to work on because as Mr. Bruce pointed out in his article the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet are sites of many energy exchange ports. Developing these areas aids in allowing energy from the crystals to enter your body more easily.
"Did you ask the brown Mother Nature figure if she was from the devic realm?"
I have never asked her if she was from the devic realm as I have never even heard of it before you said it, but I will ask the next time I see her.

Here is a list of all the stones that I own and have used while performing metaphysical or spiritual practices. I have not included stones already discussed in this topic.
I have included stone ratings; this rating is determined by how much I believe I have benefited from this particular stone and it ability to do what it is thought that it can do. Please keep in mind though that these ratings are completely subjective and most likely will not hold true for everyone.
Apache Tear – This stone is aligned with the root chakra. I absolutely love this stone as it is truly a beautiful, if you have ever seen one you know what I mean. It is very similar to Smoky Quartz but for me and my Apache heritage it holds special meaning to me. Just like Smoky Quartz the Apache Tear is a protective stone, it deflects negative energies and emotions. It is also useful for grounding. For me personally it is more effective in protecting me from the negative aspects of the world than Smoky Quartz, especially with regards to negative aspects of electronics. According to legend it aids in the development of psychic abilities. I can't honestly say that I know this is true but I believe it to be. I have had my Apache Tear since I was born and it may very well be responsible for my former successes with such things. When buying an Apache Tear they will be an opaque black or brown. But if you hold it up to the light, it will become translucent, you will be able to see through it just like you can see through Smoky Quartz, in fact it will look very similar.
Stone rating: 10/10
Snowflake Obsidian – This stone is aligned with the root chakra. This is another grounding stone but it does not have the protective qualities of the Apache Tear. I have found this stone to be only useful for grounding and activating the rook chakra.
Stone rating: 4/10 (mainly because I own an Apache Tear which does the same things and more)
Tiger's Eye – This stone is aligned with the solar plexus and is very useful in overcoming problems with your ego. This stone helps bring unresolved issues to the foreground and allows you to deal with them and move on. I have found that you should only use this stone if you are ready and willing for change in your life. Reason will become a much more important aspect of your life and you will fight for things that you want. Activation of the solar plexus increases one's determination and desire. You will find yourself more likely to fight for things that you believe to be true while still attempting to remain humble during the process. I like this stone as it is great for moving on with your life.
Stone rating: 7/10
Chrysocolla – This stone is aligned with the throat chakra and is of great benefit in getting over past traumas. If something from my past arises and cause turmoil in my life I find that using this stone helps to sort out the problems more quickly.
Stone rating: 8/10
Malachite – This stone is aligned with the heart chakra. Malachite is very similar to Chrysocolla, the only difference that I have noticed is that it is aligned with a different chakra.
Stone rating: 6/10
Bloodstone – This stone is aligned with the heart chakra as I am sure you could guess because of the blood in the name. This stone helps to cleanse the blood which is particularly useful if you suffer from high cholesterol, or other blood related problems.
Stone rating: 5/10
Pyrite – This stone is aligned with the according to many sites the crown chakra, but I have found it more beneficial on the solar plexus. This again is another protective stone and is very common and very cheep so for people not wanting to spend a lot of money for pretty stones this is the protective stone for you. If you get a gold colored pyrite it is also useful when used in conjunction with the crown chakra, it helps to direct higher spiritual energies into the body.
Stone rating: 7/10
Turquoise – This stone is aligned with the throat chakra. It aids in creative practices such as writing and painting. It is also thought to allow people to develop intuition and other psychic abilities. This is a wonderful stone to use when healing someone or yourself. Aids in aligning and balancing all chakras.
Stone rating: 9/10
Sugilite: This stone is aligned with the third eye and the crown chakra. A wonderful stone for opening the third eye and and crown to allow higher energies into your body. Aids in all higher energetic development. This is an incredibly powerful stone. Many people know that Amethyst is a very powerful stone and well Sugilite is even more powerful it is not meant to be used by people new to crystals as the energy surges will most likely be painful. Warning: Use with caution!!!
Stone rating: 3/10 (just to powerful for many people)

I want to ask a question. Does anyone here use quartz that has Timelink windows, RecordKeeper? I always wonder can anyone really receive information from them.
Hi, I have a question. I just started doing some energy work including the use of some crystals. The other day by accident I washed and dryed my favorite quartz crystal, it looks pretty beat up so I stop using it. Should I try and get the feel of it and see if it still works for me or is this a big no no? Im pretty new with all of this so Im just wondering. Thank's.
Dear athameenergy,
It should be perfectly alright. Many people say that you should not dry crystals by towel drying them, that it is better to let them air dry. This is partially true in my experiences, it is more effective to let them air dry but towel drying will not damage there effectiveness very much. Washing it is something that some say is beneficial to clean away negative energies absorbed by the crystal. I think that it is more the intent of cleansing the stone that makes a difference. I love crystals that look beat up and cracked, I use them all the time. Appearance does not affect how well they work. I wish you well in your future crystal practices.

timeless,
That's a great book. I do have a copy of Light Emerging and my wife has a copy of Barbara Brennan's first book Hands of Light. There is no legal problem I can think of with quoting an author as you have. I do it here all the time. It is something they would appreciate, I'm sure. The difference would be if one were to try and profit from it in some way, which of course isn't the case.
Thank you, by the way, for all of your helpful advice on crystals. It is a subject which I now know a bit more of, thanks to you. When I return to Northern Arizona in early October, I plan on stopping in some of the crystal shops I saw in Sedona. Also, there are quartz crystals stuck right in the red rocks that you can see when hiking through the canyons there (they are not to be taken of course). These canyons are in an area that is sacred country to the Hopi and Navajo. It is quite beautiful there.
Very best regards,
I am going a little off topic but Nick, or anyone else that has read both Hands of Light and Light Emerging, which one would you recommend? Which one have you found more useful? My local bookstore has both but I only have enough money for one of them right now so I have to make a decision. Thanks in advance.

Thank you timeless, I completely forgot about seeing if my local library had them and it does, I now have both and look forward to reading them.

Many claim when meditating touching this skull they hear the voices, wisdom and even see scenes from ancient Mayan times.

My aunt has used a crystal skull and swears by them but I have never personally used one or even seen one so I can't say much more. Hope this helps a little.<<<<<<<<<<<
My understanding is that crystal skulls are both very rare and nearly impossible to obtain. Perhaps your aunt has access to some type of replica or a machine manufactured crystal skull[?] Original crystal skulls were hand made by a long lost artistic skill.
Ah...i saw one of these skulls at the museum of enthropology in Paris, but couldn't touch it of course...
Unfortunately, i wasn't in crystal gazing yet, so i didn't attempt to gaze into it...[B)]
I am watching an episode of "Worlds Best" entitled "Top 10 Places of Mystery" on the "Travel Channel" and #10 on there count down is the Mayan Crystal Skulls. According to the show there are only 13 of them in existance and only 5 have ever been found. It showed all 5 of them and they were beautiful. It was weird though because while they were showing them it was like time itself slowed down. They only showed them for a couple of minutes but it seemed like 30 minutes. If anyone else has seen this show did you experience anything like that. Hewlett Packard the famous computer company was given the task to figure out how they were made, but they concluded that they should not even exist. Why you might ask? Because the stone that they were made of is just slightly softer than diamond and the skulls showed no sign of tool usage. It is as if the stones were originally created in there shape. Because there is no known way to form crystals like that with out leaving an sign of tool marks. I just thought I would share.
I use a variety of crystals. Herkimer diamond, generator quartz, calcite, jade, amber, many, many. I first had a dream in which I was told to get one. I did and began drawing it into my dreams and astral projecting with it. It was quartz and aided in clairvoyance and telepathy. I find double terminateds make fantastic shields, combinations of colored calcite for example blue and amythest have been great for protection. I am so amazed by these wonderful pieces of the earth. Using them on the astral plane I have learnes how to move my own Kundalini, balance my chakras and subtle bodies. The earth gives such gifts. Once I even had a horrible headcold, chanting a healing mantra into my herkimer diamond I proceeded to sleep where, I dreamed of the ritual I had prformed. I awoke completely free of my illness. Very helpful if you are drawn into battle out there.
Thank you for sharing psiclone, you are correct crystals are amazing. They can help on so many different levels, and heck they are just plain beautiful to look at.[:D]

Hi, I was looking for people to talk about crystals. Now I found a list of posts. Thank you.
I use rose quartz beside my pillow. I like the look of it. I not sure if I did sleep better but with a bunch of different crystals I did not have any bad dreams lately. I believe in the power of crystals. Maybe I did manifest that thought.

Hi all,
I have a question.
What crystals can best assist me in remote viewing (sodalite?) and in channeling a spirit guide someone told me amethyst [?]
Light to everyone,
Greetings Tortue,
I have not worked with remote viewing or channeling spirits all that much but clear crystal quartz is said to work depending upon the form of it. Here is a link with more information.

Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a really good website at www.wisdomsdoor.com that has information on crystals for energy work and astral projection. There is also some great audio files on these subjects. This site is a really good introduction to metaphysics I think. Check it out! (If you want to look at the crystal stuff go to the "Reality Creator 2" book)

It appears my first post was not seen. Either that or i have terrible eye-sight. All the better because i got my birth stone wrong [:P]
Anyway, i'll redo my question.
Does a person's birthstone work better in their company? For example, my birthstone is amethyst. So would amethyst be more powerful for me than it would for somebody else who has, say, ruby as a birthstone?
Sorry about not replying to the original post, but I have never experiemented with this to see if that is the case or not. My birth stone is a diamond and I have to say that I have strong sensations when working with diamonds but I can't say for certain that birth stones are more effective that those that are not.

I have a rose quartz that I bought, unpolished or anything. It is a pretty big piece, it fits in my closed hand, and it only cost a dollar! I bought it at a mineral rock store. You can buy them at muesems too I bet.
Either way, I also have a clear quartz that I found, I've purified the rose one, but not the clear one.
I never really knew what to do with em, mostly i just carry the rose quartz with me, and leave th clear one at home.
Intersting thing I read a while ago...Quartz can resonate with F# I think, which can cause it to vibrate at such a frequency that it will FLOAT.
In fact, scientists even consider the possibility of the pyramids of egypt being built by moving the large quartzite slabs of stone by resonating them with trumpets or some other musical instrument blaring the F# note!
I have a few stones that I've picked up at the Natural History Museum. How exactly do you use crystals anyway? You don't eat them, do you?[xx(]
Eat them well I guess you could eat some like salt, but I would not recommend eating them if you want to use them for metaphysical practices. Just hold them in your hands and imagine that energies from them are flowing into you. In reality though you don't have to do visualizations or be holding them but it does increase their effectiveness. I have crystals placed throughout my house to spread their energies so that my house is my sanctuary devoid of much of the worlds negativity. Makes time at home much more enjoyable.
In general the closer the stone is to touching you the more effect it will have on you. The more you believe the crystals energies are helping you the more they will.

Where did you read this? I have heard of stones and such being lifted by sounds but I have never seen that scientists have figured out that it was a single note that was capable of doing so. I have read that many differents notes and rhythms are required to achieve such a result.
Here is a link which goes along with this idea.

last night i tried sleeping with a piece of un-polished rose quartz on my brow chakra. i woke up this morning feeling as if i'd had about 10 cups of less-than-weak coffee and this lasted most of the day, even though i'd not had any caffine for several days and slept my normal hours... :-/ it was not fun, i won't be trying that one again.
I think that was the first time you done it right?
From what I know there are 3 reasons,
1) Your head (or chakra or whatever) got used to the crystal and as you removed it it felt the 'shocks' or 'gaps' of it not being there
and/or
2) Your head was getting used to the crystal and that is the reason why your head felt a mess. It was experiencing an interference of frequencies from your crystal. It was working harder to 'integrate' the crystal as part of your energy.
and/or
3) The crystal was 'empty' and it was simply just absorbing your energy.
It depends if the crystal agrees with you or not, and visa versa.
I remember I bought a quartz crystal wand (cut + polished), and the first time I wore it I was on my mobile phone. Usually because my phone has a cheapo battery it only lasts for about 2 phone calls of 20 minutes.
However, when I wore my crystal, for some crystal mystery, I had about 5 calls of 20 minutes each. Whether it was the temperature affecting the battery or the crystal amplifying the batteries flow of electrons I am unsure. But what I do know is, that is the longest time I have had my phone running and it was the only time I was focusing on my crystal while I was on the phone (since it was the first time I wore it, the crystal was on my mind). As soon as I stopped that focus, the phone died!
Like I think it was Links Shadow said before, crystals work as easily as you telling them to work. The more you want them to work, the more they work. Strange isnt it. Sometimes, I feel their is a spirit inside the crystal, and if you dont respect it, it can hurt you.
There have been times where I have woken up a bit 'drained' from energy when I had a crystal near by. Other times it has done the total opposite. You should really cleanse the crystal before you use it, especially for any chakra work.
I once had an extremely powerful crystal once... so powerful it broke itself into 3 pieces. I was so upset, I ended up throwing one piece in the ocean, and burrying the other in a place where I can no longer dig it up (stupid me). Whether or not my energy or the crystal agree with those actions, I am still suffering from those stupid actions. I had a part of me stored in those crystals, and me being the dummy I am, threw them away in places where I can no longer get them back...
It took me another 3 years after that before I could deal with crystals again (that being a few months ago)... and I am now being extremely sensible with them since I now understand some extreme powers the can possess... I learnt that the hard way :(
If you ever find an 'empty' crystal, which I define as a crystal vacant of a spirit... you have to be VERY CAREFUL. If you programmed it, dont ever throw it away like I did, unless you are willing to sacrifice a part of yourself. This advice goes for everyone really.
If anyone has any ideas about programming crystals from personal experiences and not from books and crap, I would like to exchange information.
Why can I not see any of Timeless' posts?
timeless went around the forum and deleted her posts.
Oh, thanks.

I know this was a long time ago, but how did u keep the quartz on ur brow when u went to sleep. or did u like meditate with the crystal on ur forehead then took it off afterwards. id really like to know thx
I actually slept on my back, which was the first time I had ever done so. I started out meditating but then when I was done I was so comfortable that I did not want to move so I left the crystal where it was, and just drifted off to sleep. Unlike most nights I did not toss and turn so the crystal stayed on my forehead all night.
thats pretty cool. now lastly do u know a good site in where i could buy unpolished crystals? and maybe info on crystals that could help me meditate, have more vivid or lucid dreams, and help astral projection, or maybe a crystal for each individual chakra would be excellent. thx
ebay
try your luck
actually i went to http://www.mythnlynx.com and i ordered a few crystals and i can say they have great service, for my items were shipped out the next day and they made a mistake and they corrected it and i ended up with a free crystal. even though i didn't get my crystals yet i can easily trust them, and would recommend them to anybody that wants to order crystals.
A few things I can add to this discussion:
Always treat your crystals with respect and be thankful for their help. Like most things in nature, there is a "spirit" that resides within them.
If possible, place your clear quartz outside or in a window when there's a full moon, allowing it to absorb the light and moon's energy.
When not in use, always store your crystals in exactly the same place, as energy will "bleed" from the crystal and saturate the storage place. Placing it in different locations all the time will tend to bleed off the energy. By keeping it in the same spot, once that spot gets "energized" and "tuned" to the crystal, it will help the crystal maintain its energy levels.
As was stated in a previous post by Skymageinfinity, the more you want them to work, the more they work, which tells me that there is a belief system at work here also. ie: If you don't believe they will work for you, then your negativity prevents them from doing so. By giving them reverence, you are training your mind in a positive belief system. Ignoring the above suggestions will not prevent crystals from working for you, but they won't hurt either, so why not give it a shot?
I'm new to the whole crystal thing.
Anyone know anything about Kyanite?
I have a green one and I might get a blue one. They are not that big.
Does the size of the crystal/stone matter? It's about an inch long and less than a half inch thick.
I only really want to know about blue and green kyanite.
What does "programming" a crystal mean?
Thanks for any help
wassup. i havent posted i like forever. but lately ive been studying lemurian seed crystals. if u have one or know sumthin about it all help wuld be appreciated. thanks
Has nobody here offered any criticisms of all this Crystal talk and their use in healing, meditation etc? I mean you are all just so accepting of all this, you are so naive and gullible. No wonder many people rightly dismiss esoteric types as off their heads with all this talk of crystal healing and related mumbo-jumbo. You make it easy for the materialists and others to poke fun at you. You set yourselves up for it. Now don't get me wrong, I for one do not doubt the reality of astral travel and related paranormal phenomena, as a search of my previous posts will reveal. But one must guard against being so accepting of absolutely everything pertaining to the "New-Age Movement".
I'm sure lots of people are making quite a bit of money selling crystals, so such people cannot be relied upon for objectivity on the efficacy or otherwise of crystal use.
If you think the crystals you have are working for you, how do you know this is not mere psychosomatics?
Somebody should see if a control study has been done in this regard, probably not, I don't know - What you do is you have 2 groups of people, the one lot have crystals and they use them for whatever they think effective, meditation, healing, raising Kundalini etc and we see the results, another group think they have their particular crystals but they have been given stones that are not their crystals, but look like them and are superficially indistinguishable from the real thing (note no group knows who has the real crystals and who doesn't), neither should those carrying out the research (this is called a double-blind control), and then see the results.
Why not try organise such a study, it is not hard to do and would be inexpensive, but what if the results went against your beliefs? Namely no differing results among the control and the non-control group, ie it would be the human mind and not the crystals that are making any difference. But of course you do not want to consider that option, not so?
Something so symbolic of this crystal mania and its essential riduculousness is in the history of the New-Age movement itself, namely "The crystal incident" at the Findhorn community in Scotland in the 1970s:
From Carol Riddell at http://users.northnet.com.au/~carolrid/Findhorn%20C%20History.html
quote:
In spite of David's [David Spangler] warnings, the community had to learn its lesson about glamour. The problem came to a head with the 'crystal incident' in 1978. A small group of people began visiting the community, and some became members, who felt that only with certain kinds of decoration and design, and particularly through the use of crystals, could the appropriate energy be properly channelled here. Indeed, it was not so much divine energy, but the energy of the fabled past civilisation of Atlantis which was to be incorporated into our almost completed Universal Hall through a special configuration of crystals and wires. The whole conception was not properly communicated to the membership, and Peter's authority was still such that there was considerable acceptance of the new idea.
A specially cut quartz crystal, about the size of a grapefruit, was prepared and suspended on gold wires in the centre of the Hall. The gold wires led to the supporting pillars, from which silver wires led down into the foundations. In the basement, a smaller crystal was embedded in the floor, and a piece of meteoritic iron sat above it. A third crystal was fixed to a light in the centre of the ceiling. The Hall was closed for some time before this occult arrangement was finished and then, around Christmas 1978, a special ceremony of invocation was held to inaugurate the energy transfer. Craig Gibsone, a later focaliser of the Foundation, remembers walking out of the ceremony and leaving the community, so great was his disgust. He returned only in 1983.
A year and a half later, during a presentation by a visitor from the Edgar Cayce Foundation, the wires snapped and the crystal fell, smashing a two-inch-thick glass panel in the floor and narrowly missing the speaker, who had 'providentially' not chosen to stand in the centre of the Hall. The crystal shattered into many pieces, to almost everyone's great relief. Eileen was not present at the talk, but her comment when informed of the event was: "Thank God." She collected the crystal fragments and, following her guidance, they were returned to the earth from which they came. This curious incident ended a period which taught the community some hard lessons.
'Psychic glamour' is widespread in the 'new age' movement nowadays. It caters for people who are dissatisfied with the cruder aspects of materialism, but who still retain a desire to purchase personal transformation quickly for a fee. Such demands are fulfilled by a large coterie of 'psychic entrepreneurs' who advertise their wares in the host of 'new age' magazines. Many people still visit us expounding their 'visions' or new techniques, trying to set us to rights. We enjoy them and thank them, and they pass on elsewhere. We are becoming more and more conscious of the simplicity and directness of the divine message — that our purpose is to find the divine within, the criterion for which is the practice and experience of unconditional love. Our work is too important to be sidetracked.
I could not have put it better myself, especially that bit about 'psychic glamour'. It sums up the essential problem with New-Age types as does dream-catchers and other similar paraphenalia.
I say this not to belittle anybody here, but as a hopefully sobering reminder that if one is not careful one can end up getting caught up in superficialities that have no bearing on our essential humanity, on our goodness or lack of it. None of this "glamour" improves us as people, it does not make us wiser or kinder, it can only lead us astray. It is not an adjunct to any truth, but a diversion from the path to truth in all its subtle forms.

Strangely enough... I've had the urge to pop crystals in my mouth and swallow them before.
I have to agree with Mustang on his point. It's true that it's easy to make fun of new age types (if you want to label yourself as such.. I don't know much about how people usually think about "new agers", I'm just doing things through intuition). But that's also part of the mindset, a sort of rising above. It's always easy for skeptics to say we're all just using double-speak, but they've never proved us wrong, just as we haven't necessarily objectively proved them wrong. As far as that goes, I feel the topic has been and is at a standoff, and the best thing to do is concentrate your personal energies elsewhere instead of try to "prove" almost purely subjective matter to people who don't want to believe it anyway.
But the idea of an objective test is a tough one. I completely agree that it should be done; but the problem lies in the fact that the whole concept and action of "psi" is carried out almost excluseively internally. With a practice so individually based, it's hard to get an objective measurement. Another problem is the human thought process; generally people who deny the existence of or don't think about things in the psi category "unmake" effects upon them by doing so. It's not a conscious thing for all but the most stalwart objectors, but it makes even the possibility of having a "control group" of people who aren't acquainted with such practices almost absurd.
I agree that there definitely has to be a way to find an objective view on the subject, but since old practices based in the physical realm for the most part don't apply, we have to invent a new standard by which to measure. I'm not a great mind, just a guy who can follow logical steps, and I'm sure I'm not up to the task of doing such a thing.
However, I suppose it would be possible to perform single-blind tests of having persons well acquainted with meditation and energy sensations given a mystery package, perhaps clay or something similarly hard, which may contain a crystal, or may contain a weight of equal mass. By having the participants in the experiment given a series of 3 of these mystery packages, with only the conductors of said experiment knowing the individual contents of each package, meditate and try to see any individual energy sensations out of the ordinary that may be caused by the crystal. In this way, it would be possible to tell if the crystals actually cause greater energy sensations or not. The actual causes of these symptoms will still remain a mystery, but it will be proven whether or not the crystals affect such symptoms.
The only problem I can see with this is that skeptics could always claim the participants were loaded and the entire experiment was a fraud. That's something they'll have to trust us on, and if they are so dead set about not believing that they'd think that, it's probably not a good idea to cater to them anyway.
If I knew more people in my area so psychically inclined, I'd conduct the test tomorrow. But I don't, unfortunately. Anyhow, here's your outline for determining whether or not crystals have any effect upon meditation. I hope they do, but I'll be logical enough to accept it if they don't.
Greetings everyone,
Most of us know how useful crystals can be for many metaphysical procedures.
We have an excellent crystal shop over here, but they only sell the polished crystals. I personally believe that raw, unpolished crystal are by far the best for these things. I particularly believe that the various quartz, e.g. smokey quartz, rose quartz are particularly useful. Do you people have problems obtaining unpolished crystals?
Also, while we are on the subject, it would be interesting to hear of experiences with crystals for Astral projection, meditation etc..
With best regards,
Adrian.

Something I have tried in the last time is putting crystals on the chakra areas and then simply relax and going into slight meditation. I was surprised by the different and strong feelings I did experience when doing it.
What I did: I put a citrin crystal (tiny ones) on my brow chakra and my throat chakra. Clear quartz on my heart chakra. In this 'configuration' I felt my heart very well. Also my brow was being stimulated.
After that I tried it with clear quartz on my brow chakra, citrin on my throat and above navel, rose quartz on my heart. It felt different. I felt my head 'was being cleared' especially above my eyes.
Yesterday I put my clear quartz above the navel (5th chakra from top) and citrin on my brow chakra. I had a sensation which is best described in a feeling of wholeness. I felt like being 'complete', energetically speaking. I hope you know what I mean. I experienced such a feeling sometimes when doing EFT, but the feeling of having an energy body was never this clear and smooth. I felt really smooth, without a flaw. Like a perfect...well, crystal. hahahaha
Now that I describe it...! Amazing feeling. If someone has tried it, please give me your comments!
I also 'discovered' that the feeling of sympathy and love is amplified when wearing rose quartz. I had one in my pocket for example.
Somebody said the purer, cleaner the chrystal the better. My citrin is not very pure but it 'works' very well though. I plan to get some purer stuff, which I have right now. Wasn't cheap but I do not go to McDonalds, so...
- A few days later
Again I placed clear quartz crystals on my major six (left out root chakra) chakras and concentrated on the energy flow from my root chakra along the spine. After a while I had a strange feeling in my right arm, just at elbow. A few seconds later I remembered that this is the location I broke my arm say 13 years ago. I recall that I sensed the same with my left wrist, which too was broken, in an earlier session.
Also I put a crystal on each of my eyes and felt like if my eyeballs were sinking in my head. Like they are never completely in my head, but somehow 'lifted out'. Could be true, because I have what doctors call shortsightedness and often feel that I tense the muscles of my eyes too much. I can relax them, but only to a certain degree I feel.
I believe that crystals broadcast some of their harmony and greatly aid to receive and send energy. I have yet to do more experiments, but I clearly see no placebo effect, because I can reproduce certain effects. That is the feeling of sinking, vibrating and of being aligned. Together with a slightly enhanced ability to broadcast energy. If I don't use crystals those abilities don't cease, but are not amplyfied anymore as what I perceive. Again, I have to do more experiments on this. Effects vary when using different crystals. Eg. the feeling of being aligned is stronger for me when using citrin instead of clear quartz. When using citrin it I have slightly stronger and more intense experiences.
I have to admit that since I use crystals before going to sleep I need less time to rest. When I get up I feel completely rested, healthier and fit. I also feel that my body is cleaning itself.
Hi Yothu,
I've recently started meditation with crystals on my major chakras, and find that it is not only empowering, but at the same time it feels very relaxing and soothing, like my aura is being healed & softened. I do a lot of energy/chakra meditations, so it's a wonderful feeling to have the crystals used. I can see where you would be getting a lot of success using clear quartz, as it is the all purpose amplifier.
More recently, I attended a crystal healing workshop that helped me gain a much better insight into using crystals with our chakras, and how they can be used to repair & rejuvinate our auras. Typically we used crystals that matched the colours of the chakras -
Base - Tiger Iron (a natural combination of Tiger eye, Hematite & Jasper)
Sacral - Carnelion
Solar plexus - Citrine
Heart - Rose quartz (and a green stone such as Aventurine if extra healing is needed here)
Throat - Sodalite (Blue Calcite is also very good here)
Brow - Amethyst
Crown - Clear Quartz
When doing a healing on someones chakras your basically feeding reiki or white light energy into the crystal on that chakra, and letting it attune the energy for that person. If the chakra is not functioning well, holding clear quartz in your hand while sending the energy gives it a huge boost. You can really feel the quartz amplifying the energy here.
The colour of stone you use isn't strict - there are general guidelines but no rules. I read where you were using Citrine on your heart. Though it's not usually associated with the heart chakra, Citrine is an excellent stone for opening up the chakras - any of them. We were told during the course to let your intuition guide you on what stoned to use where for best effect.
Kind regards,
James.
I have taken up an interest in energy work with crystals and am trying to figure out what would work best for me in my meditation exercises.
Also I find it quite fascinating that crystals can be used to perform healing exercises upon people.
I usually use my own energy when I attempt to heal others but am always interested in other techniques as well.
I'm not one to jump on bandwagons (when I was starting out I even thought chakras were bogus hehe.) My belief in crystals changed one day also. I used to have a nice cliff I would climb, up to a ledge overlooking the valleys and river.. awsome place. I always meditate at the same spot when possible, to build latent energy. But after awhile I started changing my location. I noticed that some places on the cliff I had much better meditations than others, moving a foot or two could make a huge difference. I investigated the cliff. I found that at all of my favorite spots there were hidden veins of smokey quartz. I moved, but I hope to find another crystal vein like that. But as a substitute I was thinking you could get a lot of raw quartz crystals and arrange them on your mat in a flower design with their base (-) pointing away from you.
I know next to nothing about crystals in relation to metaphysics. But my new home has a rediculous amout of quartz on the property, due to a rediculous amout of granite in the area. I recently found a baseball sized chunk of quartz that was too pretty not to pick up. I'm going to put it in my garden when I get it started.
Quote;
(I'm not one to jump on bandwagons but when I was starting out I thought chakra were bogus)
I was sort of skeptical as well until I realized that I was interacting with certain chakra centers such as the heart and the crown in my metapsychical endeavors.
I have also heard that Quartz can be a most useful crystal to work with but haven't tried it as of yet.
As for the suggested usage of placing many of them around oneself the idea sounds most intriuging but I hope that they are'nt very expensive crystals to purchase.
Stookie... I am so jealous :-)
I agree with Mustang. Nothing should be taken at face value but investigated and then filtered through your intelligence and reasoning. However, if benefits can be gained through crystals psychosomatically, doesn't this invalidate modern pharmaceuticals, with their enormous profit margins and long list of side effects? If you can cure yourself through the power of the mind why bother with medicines at all? Since I had my first session with a local energy healer (3 months of tendonitis gone in 3 days-woohoo!) I haven't see a doctor since.
I'm definitely going to try sleeping with a crystal on my brow and see what happens - but I sleep on my side and toss and turn a fair bit, is it ok to keep the crystal there with sticky tape?
Also, does how clear the crystal is affect how powerful it is?
