I'm not sure if anybody is still interested, but i'm not going to continue with this automatic writing.
It takes too long to form a letter. I was under the impression it was something quick. Maybe this means it is my subconcious and not my guide.
That brings me to my next point. I just don't trust it enough. There's no way for me to know which one it is, since i can't communicate directly with my guide.
I'll wait until i can project to contact my guides, unless they do so before then.

I want to share my automatic writing experience, It was just some months ago.

I started it because I wanted to find and chat with my spirit guide, OK i started with a pencil and a notebook and I only write some lines but nothing more.

I read in the same place that you can also communicate using your keyboard and a text processor, I used notepad and at this point my hand just moves a little.

Some days later my hand moves very quickly and have a kind of live by itself while writing, so I tried again with pencil and notebook to draw things, this time things get awful because I was kind of possesed and my hand started to move alone and with the pencil take and pass through my neck, I was too scared so I started to read the bible and pray.

Since that I haven't used it anymore, I was sad for about 3 days and have bad dreams and awake too early in the morning having bad thoughts.

This my experience and I don't want to live that again.

I have a little experience of working with automatic writing and have seen other people produce good work and feel very safe. On the other hand I also have seen people worried by the material produced.

There is also a medical condition (I forget the name for it) where one hand appears to have a life of it's own. I believe it is a left/right brain condition which may occur in some stroke victims. I assume this is not something you have had and I would not want to worry you about health issues.

In the mean time probably best not to practice again until you feel comfortable. Otherwise there are plenty of people here who would be able to help you out. Hi Guys, im sorry to sound negative but I believe the true reality is that automatic writing in the form you are practicing it is too dark, as in, if your not developed enough to know whos writing the mesagges put the pen down! its no different from doing a ouji bouard! not good. [}:)] You may truly have your guide around but this kind of activity may atrract all kinds. Can you tell the difference?

I admit I tried it out of curiosity, as we all are. I see spirit when they project them selves on to my mind and they would always ask me to go and get the pens out, before you know it I had a que of them, so who knows whos trying to mess with you mind.

Betty Shine, a very famouse and powerful medium and healer said this. "True automatic writing is chanelled by mediums who recieve the messages as they recieve them from spirit and write them sriaght down. Even then I believe that many who think they are channaling are only listening to their own inner voice but because they are not used to hearing it dont recognise it as there own" Thats my 2 cents

I have to agree entirely with majour ka here.

I've seen a few documents now on how to use channeling tools that all miss out on one very important bit of information:
the only way you can truly be sure that the information you get is accurate is to learn under the guidance of an experienced medium who can verify your results. Without that verification, you can never be really sure if your in contact with good spirits, bad spirits or if its purely your subconscious.

I know that tends to put a dampener on learning these kind of things for many people, but rest assured, channeling is not something to be taken lightly and there's no quick course. Medium skills need to be developed over time to prevent 'accidental' contact with unwanted entities, and they really should be developed under the guidance of an experienced medium.

Suggestion - find a spiritualist church near you and see if there's any medium circles starting up.

Actually I'd happily echo what Majour Ka & James say on this, although I did not want to be alarmist my earlier post on this thread.

In addition I have seen examples of individuals who have been faced with possessive type automatic writing and likewise with safely guided writing under the mentorship of a good teacher! It is much better to be trained in channelling as already discussed. It is also important to work on oneself before acting as an instrument for spirit communication. In other words look to self development and connection with god or Great Spirit (whatever label) in the first place i.e. it is vital to have a sense of harmony or at least be comfortable with whatever challenges you have in hand before embarking on development for spirit communication.

Can I add a little if they do not mind - not all spiritualist churches have good teaching mediums, and from experience open circles including Church ones are not always immune from neg influences and or atmospheres! Although I assume James knows and trusts the good people at Ringwood. If in doubt it might we worth seeking recommendation of a local medium and asking for what is called an assessment reading. This type of reading is employed to provide a picture of the student/sitter with respect to their spiritual and mediumistic development. Obviously, as with any reading the individual should exercise free will in terms of how they act on any information presented etc.

Sorry if this all sounds a bit dogmatic... []

Hmmm i've actually never thought about automatic writing like that to be honest. When i did it i made sure to specify and set intent on ONLY one of my guides (if i have any), but then i just assumed that would be ok.

It looks like you're playing it safe anyway. I did definitely pick up on the fact that you're being cautious with it. This is a good idea for sure, but it can also be a hinderance when you are in genuine contact with a good spirit. Distrust can block the flow of communication you get.

The trick is to be able to confidently let go and open up to the spirits in an attitude of complete trust. Sounds dangerous yes, but not if you've prepaired properly.  Become comfortable with your own self and your abilities (by way of EOL007's advice) so you are trusting of yourself. Find the help of someone who can provide verification for starting out so you know what your feeling for. Contact with the spirit world is 90% by the heart and 10% the other senses. Well, I just made those percentages up but it's roughly the way it is [] Put all the safeties in place - cleansing, protection, etc, so that you can be confident that all negative energies or entities cannot come anywhere near you. When you can work from a place of confidence and protection, and you can trust yourself and trust your source, then completely let go of any thoughts, worries, doubts, and let the spirits lead you.

And yes, though I make it a habit to stay away from spiritualist orgaisations, the people I've met so far from Ringwood have all been really good, and genuine. Can't say I'd ever want to go back to one of their Sunday meetings, but it was a good starting point for getting in contact with the right people.
Otherwise again, follow EOL's advice - find a good medium, preferrably by word of mouth. Any true medium worth anything at all will be happy to see someone else wanting to learn the ways of the spirit world and will be happy to help guide you, or at least refer you to someone they trust who can. The ones that aren't interested in helping someone who's developing can probably be considered money hungry fakes.

Doing the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram would probably be a good method of clearing out any potentialy negative spirits before attempting this.  As a writer, I found this topic quite interesting, and I wouldn't mind trying it myself.

Yes, that would definitely and very effectively do the trick!
Even just casting a circle and calling on the protection and presence of the powers of the four elements works. Whenever I do any kind of divination work, even if it's just at my desk, I have in four corners of the desk items to represent the four elements, and I concecrate the space with the help of these spirits. The idea simply is to create a 'sacred' space where all negative influences have been banished, and your working within an area of only positive energies.

I have been thinking about getting into mediumship recently. I'll take the revival of this thread to be my starting point.

Actually my cousin, who attuned me to reiki, is a medium and she recommended a group to me that she is a part of a while ago. The only problem at the moment is time. I'm doing my last year of highschool at the moment, so a lot of my energy is directed towards that so i can get where i want to be (archaeology! []).

As for the LBRP, well i've never really felt a need for stuff like that for some reason. I guess i've never thought of negative energy as a problem for me. As long as i set intent, i really don't think i can be harmed. I will keep it in mind though.

I usually make incomprehensible words, graffiti like and very fluid.

i get allot of infiniti symbols, and swirls. Sometimes I'll try and just draw entire pages filled with it.  I'll just try and "fill the empty space" on the paper.

sometimes I get very abstract images of people, faces most are almost cartoons.  Others I will get freaky grey alien type junk or just very detailed human faces.  

no demons or anything, but lots of very complex geometrical lines.

Exactly! Not only that but i could gain such an insight through projecting back to when events actually occured. I could most definitely write some pretty creative stuff []
Actually one of the things that enhanced my desire to mediate/channel was reading The Emerald Tablets of Thoth. I would love to mediate and/or channel Thoth one day!

While we are on the topic of channeling, has anybody come across a website where somebody channels a spirit and this spirit talks about... well life and death etc? I believe the website i started reading it on was set out in chapters, very much like a book. I don't know whether it was automatic writing, but i think it was.
I know that's very broad, but the thought just popped into my head so i thought i'd ask anyway.

Here is one that happend to me.  Im a Certified Hypnotist and on paltalk in Pennys chat room I hypnotized a small group of people in the room.

Penny is a Nationally ReNoun Psychic Medium and she is used to going into meditations when she does readings.  Put this time she went further down deeper then she's experienced before and then her spirit guide Jacob took over and Jacob starting typing a message so fast that Penny's finger were hurting after.  

She had no memory of doing the typing. But she sent me the typed message from Jacob so here it is.


You have asked that I come to you and I will be unable to stay long. I will tell you what I see know and know to see by my inner being and strength of the father.

There is a lot of things going on around you and you must try to center yourself more. Becoming more connected with your inner self stay away from those who bring you negativity. You have been sliding into the negatives of those around you and this is what is making you ill most of the time. Do not give in to them. I've just recently tried my hand at this (pun not intended []) and i got some interesting results.
You should know that i haven't really had any conscious contact with my guide/guides that i am aware of. I invited any of my guides that may be around into my body to control my hand and i THINK i asked them to write their name for me. They write REALLY slow, and i'm not sure why this is or if it's normal or not, but here's what i have "recieved" so far.

I did draw lines through some of the channeled writing to identify where i took my pen off of the paper. When i did take my pen off the paper i either put it back in the same position i took it off from or i felt the letter had been finished and placed it at a new position. It may be hard to read but it's clearly seperate from my writing.

As you can (hopefully) see, the letters so far spell WOBWW.
I chanelled the W first and didn't do the rest until today. The apparent O came today and once it was finished it's circut (back to the W from an anti-clockwise direction) it started to travel back down the W, only to stop once it reached the middle. This is where i took my pen off and started the next letter, which first took the shape of a C, then a G and then what looked like a 6. The pen stopped moving for a bit here and i was getting a little tired since it was taking so long to write the letters so i stopped for the moment. That's where the pen colour changed to black, which i actually used just now. The black pen completes the letter as a B. It then goes on to form another W and, again, starts backing over itself (my guide seems to like doing this!) At this point i asked the first question. After the first two questions i channeled another letter, which started off as W and then it got backed over as well. Now i think i'm going to have to do that last letter again later.

Now, bottom right are might questions, which i asked the guide to answer with Y for Yes and N for No.
1. Right? was me asking if WOBW was right.
2. Name? was asked after the last letter was added up the top
3. Right? was me asking whether WOBWW was right or not

1 and 2 are clearly Ys, indicating Yes. However, 3 is rather difficult to read at all. It started off with a straight line down, moved back up diagonally to the right, turned back on itself towards the first line and once it reached the first line it went off on that long line to the right again, then made a 45 degree angle to the left and as far as i could tell it stopped.

At this stage i'm not completely sure whether it is just my sub-conscious creating these letters or whether it really is a guide, or even a spirit (although i specified that the writer be a guide when i issued the invitation). What i do know is that my hand is completely relaxed at all times, and i am not writing those letters with my conscious mind.
Another thing worth mentioning is the first time i tried this (when i did the first W) and i asked my guide to leave my body for now, i shivered. You know when you get those shivers that just creep up on you and your whole body shivers? A common saying is that "somebody has walked over your grave". I got that, and i got it again just now when i asked the same thing of my guide.

Right now i'm too tired to continue tonight but i will continue tomorrow and report back at some stage.

I'm interested in other people's experiences with automatic writing, please post them if you have any.

PS - Those other scribbled letters are just my thoughts of what the letters could make BEFORE i used the black pen to complete the third letter, the B.
