Hi all,
I have been interested in EVP--electronic voice phenomenon...especially after I listened to Coast to Coast show about EVPs (April 2nd).
I bought me a digital voice recorder and I was wondering where to start?
Anybody had any luck recording the voices? Please share!
Also, do I necessarily need to use an external mic with my IC recorder (Panasonic RR-US360)?
Thanks,
Ivanda
I think I got my first EVP. I went to cemetery and recorded in several places. A woman's voice appears in the recording that was made at an old woman`s grave. I wish i could post the clip here, but don't think it is possible.
The voice sounds a little mechanical and appears to say rapidly: I`m out there.
It was very windy that day... some planes can be heard flying at a distance, but there were no humans around and i had stepped away for a minute or so.
So, anybody at all likes to comment or share?
I don't think its possible to comment without listening to it. What class of recording you got?
See, I don`t have much experience at all. I believe it is class B recording, although to me it sounds very clear after having listened to it so many times. :)
I wish somebody more experienced listened to it and told me what it is.
Also now I think she may be saying: I`m not there. (probably meaning in the grave  )
Hi Ivanda,
I posted something a while back on this in our Welcome to Communications forum. There is an excellent website with lots of links and resources. It is the American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomenon. You can reach their website by clicking HERE (http://www.aaevp.com/)[/color]
All the best,
Nick
Oh hey! Good site there Nick.
Ivanda, hello :)
I've been interested in EVP stuffs for some time myself. My girlfriend and I are going to be picking up a couple of recorders ourselves and seeing if we can get anything.
I'd sure like to hear the EVP you got, it sounds interesting.
I understand from various things I've read that an external mic is best.
Nick,
thank you very much for the link. I think these guys were on Coast to Coast a while ago. I got really interested after listening to the show.
Keithcrash,
I still need to get an external mic.
I could email u the file, if u like-- I would appreciate any input. How do i reach u?
What kind of recorders are u going to buy?
My IC recorder came with a nice editing program and an USB cable, it is really easy to transfer and analyze the files. 8)
I`m planning to record at an old church this week. I wish i could go to my old department at KSU where I studied. I feel it is haunted, cause every time I went there at night on my own I heard things and could not shake the feeling that somebody is following me around.
Thanks, guys,
Ivanda
Sure! Email me the file. That would be great. I've enabled my email so people from the forums can email me. But, it's Keithcrash@hotmail.com.
I can't remember what type we were looking into getting, but it sounds a lot like yours. I'll bet you'll get all kinds of spooky stuffs that the church!
I've done EVP and got positive results using a simple program that randomly rearranges wav files...so....um yeah! Interesting stuff. I want one which does visual as well tho! :p Then I can ask Tesla for ZPE generators plans!!
