You dont use your eyes to see an aura.

but how can I use peripheral vision (mentioned in the article) without using my eyes ...? Can someone actually see an aura with closed eyes?

Good question, I would like to know also. I am very skeptical about auras because they seem pretty much the same as after-images, I'm not saying they don't exist but whenever I look for auras I just see afterimages.

I've seen a lot of controversy over this issue, so I'll fall back on my own personal experience for my opinion here.

I disagree that a block of colour on a PC can have an aura. I disagree that a COLOUR can have an aura, as a colour itself is just something that under white light reflects photons of a particular bandwidth and absorbs others. What you see from looking at a block of colour on a screen with your eyes not fully focused on that block IS an afterimage, and any good optometrist would be able to tell you exactly why it is an afterimage, and how the eye creates that afterimage.

What I do agree on though is that blocks of colours on a screen can give you a REPRESENTATION of an aura and help train you to see them by using afterimages as a training tool, and by teaching you how to change your point of focus so that auras are better able to be seen.

To see the energy aura of a living thing requires more than just natural eyesight as beav31is pointed out. It requires the activation and use of the third eye energy centre (chakra) to add to or augment the natural eyesight so that the brain is able to recieve images of a banwidth outside of the visible light spectrum.

I have practiced seeing auras by looking at my own in a large mirror. The etheric aura, the one closest to the body, varies in colour depending on the mood of the subject, and the aura is alive - it moves and pulsates, which makes it quite different to an afterimage.

I don't think you would be able to get an afterimage from an aura as it is constantly moving and quite subtle in appearence.

There are some really bad books and tutorials out there that will try to have you think that seeing an afterimage is seeing an aura, and they don't do much at all for your self-confidence when you find out they're full of s**t, but dont be dissapointed. Seeing auras is not some out of reach talent that only a rare few have. Anyone can do it with patience and practice in both focus and concentration control, and a bit of regular energy work to get the third eye working.
Have a look at this post on concentration excercises -

Thanks for the replies.

It seems that I'm doing it right, because I can see an 'aura' around my hand too. The color changes, sometimes it is a bright, milky 'aura' with a little blue in it (this one was not that big). Other times I tried it was just blue, and other times it was dark green.

That's supposed to be the aura, isn't it?

I've another question:
I tried it with different objects, and my Hand. I do see the 'aura' of the objects pretty fast, but if I want to see the aura of my hand (or other 'living' objects), it is a lot harder (sometimes I don't even see one).

So ... is seeing an aura of a living being harder than seeing the aura of simple objects?

Hi all (my first, but not last post on this forum [|)] )

Well, I have a 'problem'. I read "Training to see Auras" in the training section, and now I'm doing the excersises on seeing auras of colors. I used the online tool. The articel says that the blue square should have a yellow aura, the red square should have a green one. Well, I can see a yellow 'aura' around the blue square, but around the red square ... I see an 'aura', but it's not green! Its aura looks like this bright blue which is below the "Astral Pulse" button on top of this window. Now im a bit concerned. Have I seen an aura, or was it just some kind of after image?

I tried something with Windows' Paint program. I reversed The color of red, and it was the same color i saw.

Another odd thing I noticed was, the 'auras' of the colors seemed to move around the screen, after I stopped trying to see them, which would mean I just saw an after-image.

This is what I do:
I just 'gaze' there, and focus on nothing, but concentrate (without moving my eyes) on the edge of the colored square, and almost instantly after that (1 to 3 seconds most of the time) I see the 'aura' of it.

To put it short:

1.) Did I see the auras, or just an after-image?

2.) If the auric color of the color blue is yellow (which is the reversed color of blue), does that mean the auric color is always the reversed color of another color, at least from objects and/or colors?

3.) Is it possible to see an after-image of an aura?

4.) Did I do it wrong?

(sorry for the long posting)
