I can only speak here from my own experience, and I have read the experiences of other that do differ from mine. I was also very wary of after-image when I first started learning to see auras. What I found when I did eventually see my own aura in a mirror, was that unlike an afterimage, the part of my aura that I could see - the etheric layer, the one closest to the skin - was alive. It moved and pulsated.

I dont think I noticed an afterimage from the actal aura itself, because it did keep moving, and by that time my eyes had adjusted to the kind of focus I needed.

I had a lot of trouble with many of the instructions given by various sources on seeing auras. Mainly I think because my eyes are quite light sensitive, and where most sources of info would say you don't see after-images for about half a minute, I always get them after only about 7 to 10 seconds. The way I got around that when practicing looking at my own aura in the mirror was to maintain my point of focus, and rock slightly from side to side. This stopped after-images from forming before I could properly see my aura.

Hope you have success.
James.

I have the same problem my eyes are light sensitive and after 4-5 seconds I see after images. I am currently trying to see my hands aura. Should I try the mirror exercise?

Thanks for the help

wangting,

I'll copy my last reply over to your copy of this topic in spiritual development, and carry on from there. Theres a bit more info there.

How can someone differentiate between the two? I mean when doing the auric vision exercises you see many things. How do you know if what you see is an after image or an auric colour? Does auric colours produce an after image themselves?
