Title: I just keep falling asleep!!!

empty your mind. don't concentrate on anything. allow nothing-ness to pervade your mind, but do not concentrate on it. just sit, with a still mind.

Um...

HOW!?

I'm just like our friend the Turkey here...  Whenever i do anything concerning the like, I drift into slumber.  I posted something similar a loong time ago, and was told to awaken 6 hours after sleep and then try it.  For me, that's not possible!  I don't get it!  How do you people find the time to do the things you do?  The only time I can do this is at night, so I'm already somewhat tired at this point, and I've pretty much worn off all effects of caffeine unless I drink 4 liters... (Stinkin childhood!)  YEA so anyway, I can relate to the turkey exactly.

The same exact thing happens to me lots of times during energy development and things, the trance state is reaced really easily, and then decomes too deep and I fall alseep. I don't know what position you guys are practicing in, but I find that whenever I use my bed, I tend to fall asleep alot easier. But, I have found that what Robert Bruce suggests really works well for this problem. If you must use your bed, try atleast semi-sitting in it...

...I found that leaning pillows against the wall behind my bed works and also, if you set yourself in a different position in the bed then you normally use, like say slightly angled or something, head in one corner (with the pillow propped in the corner or something) and your feet extended to the corner diagonal to your head. Or, you can even just position your head at the opposite end of the bed than you usually do. Or, even a combination of both. If you meditate sitting and find yourself falling asleep, then try maybe a different postion for the chair in the room, or maybe even an entirely differnt room...

As for taming the mind,   it is extremely difficult! All I can say for that is practice as often as you can. I can only keep my surface mind clear for about 2 or 3 seconds[:P] Try keeping your awarness on your breathing, the air entering and leaving your body, without thinking about it, just sort of feeling it happening while keeping the pressures of thoughts out of your mind. Robert says that you can even count the out breaths extending the number for the entire length of the breath. Sometimes though, I find it easier to count both the ins and outs, helps keep the surface mind clearer for at least a millesecond longer...

I've been practicing meditation and auric sight for about a month or so now and I can't help but fall asleep!!! No matter what I do I ALWAYS fall asleep! It never happens when I simply play around with energy but when I try to meditate, see auras, or do a technique I'm having trouble with (usually a new one) I drift off to sleep! Maybe I have sleep deprivation ([:P]damn that word sleep!![:P]) or something?? Whatever the case it sucks! I get into a deep relaxation or even a slightly relaxed state and suddenly images pop into my head and they turn into little movies that I just start concentrating on without even knowing it.

For example: I see a red ball...I've been staring at it for 5 mins now to get relaxed (one of my relaxation methods). The red ball changes shape. I remember a computer game where shapes change. I see the game playing through my mind. I see all the cut-scenes and storyline I can remember. Suddenly I realize that I'm drifting off and then I snap back into reality, destroying my "meditation."

Please help!

P.S.- I'm not very good at meditating, though a lot of energy sites say I should [xx(]
