I think you just had a prophetic dream.  Remember the face.  It may not be someone you have met, or someone you know but whoever it was, may cause a lot of grief for you in the future.

I often have dreams like this and often the people I see I come across in the future.

I also wake up at night in fear but it is more spirits in my room than it is from the dream.

keep a look out.

Understand that you are creating the dream by yourself and your mind, in some religious theories it can tell you something important and I believe in it.
You created in your mind this face that you saw, it could be someone you already know that you have some feelings to him. You can fear him, love him, hate him etc.. or a movie that you saw.
If you don't recognize this face then I suggest you to go to a psycholog or someone that reads dreams.

And yes, I had many experiences like this one, and I can read and understand my dreams and they really tell logic facts that happen in the world.

if you have shields up around your room, try reinforcing them. if you don't have shields up around your room, try putting some up. also try doing a cleansing of your room/house/general area.

i had a problem with that a couple of months ago. for years now i've gone without bad dreams and then all of a sudden three nights in a row i had bad dreams. the third night i figured something was up so i tried sensing in my room and felt some bad vibes as though something had just been there. the next night i woke up just as a dream was starting to go bad and i felt a spirit in my room, and it was trying to feel intimidating and i told it to go away before it gets hurt. it left. (i think i may have mentioned this event a while ago, but that could just be my memory playing tricks on me ^_^)

the thing is is that I know who the face belongs to and that's half the problem. A couple years ago I made up my own religion. The face on the mountain was Lord Gringor the Arch Dragon. It looked familar because it was the way I always imagained it, but I'd never seen it before. I think I somehow ticked him off or something. Maybe I haven't been eating enough meat. It's one of his rules, "there must always be meat".
I hope that if I win some victories and such I can get back into his good graces.
either that or he's just reminding that it's almost the start of the Gringor months, April-june. well thanks for your imput. taaaaa!!!

I know this is probably a little too grounded for this site but have you considered that maybe you may simply be having a very vivid dream and nothing else.  That maybe the physiological response was due to the nature of the dream or just maybe you have high blood pressure or a number of things that can make the heart race.

Why try to search for a paranormal interpretations when there are plenty of everyday reasons why something occurs?

I don't mean to be disrespectful and people of course have a right to believe what they want, but sometimes I wonder what is really going on in people's thinking.  Kakkarot, if you had successive nights of nightmares, maybe you happened to be stressed during that period or your mind needed to process some info.  I know if I am worried or anxious about a situation, I have nightmares, eventhough I hardly ever have them.  Maybe just doing some ritual like putting up shields was enough to calm you down and therefore the dreams went away.

Okay, I have a psychology background so I can't help it but things like this make me think paranoia not paranormal.  I don't understand why every little thing gets explained as an example of as a paranormal experience.  I have had paranormal experiences so I am not a doubter, but I only accept as paranormal events those that can be confirmed in some way and where there is no other explanation.

I am not denying that you have had some paranormal experience both Kakkarot and Nate, just that if there is a simpler earthly explanation why immediately look for a paranormal experience?  I know I am coming across as harsh but I am trying to understand.

atalanta, most likely you're absolutely right, but humor me. My life could use more pizazz. taaaa!!!

oh sorry, i "resorted" to metaphysical things first because i mistook nate for one of the moderaters with a similar handle, and i'm sure the moderater would have already looked into physical phenomena and dismissed it before posting. but i don't know this nate (hello ^_^)

but good luck with figuring this out nate.

Yup, I'd agree with that Kakkarot. I tend to find a problem easier to resolve if you look to the natural before looking to the supernatural.

But then like Nate, my life also could do with more Pizzas...er...pizazz. Heh...freudian slip. [:)]

a couple nights ago I woke up scared out my mind with my heart thumping away like no tommorow. I don't remember having any scary dream or anything at all. My latest theory is that maybe I was unintentionally projecting and saw something super scary, but I came back wrong so I don't remember anything other than something was super scary.
then last night I had a dream that I was running through fields in just a t-shirt and underwear (second time this week I've been wearing that in a dream) and in the distance I saw a large mountain. On the side of the mountain the pine trees formed a face. It was a man's face and while it looked familar I don't know where I'd seen it before. Although when I saw it I felt a wave of fear pass over me.
It was sort of an overwhelming fear. Like I was looking at something so far beyond me it was scary and I had to get away before it saw me. If that makes any sense.
anyway in the dream I ran into the woods away from the face and then it went back into good old dream nonsense. there were zombies everywhere and that bad guy from angel was jumping out of the window and blah blah blah. anybody ever had a similar expereince? taaaa!!
