Go for the lottery!
LOL [:P]
Like i sed. It works for TV stuff. It really doesn't work for anything else at all. Like, an example, this game Mario Party 4. There is this game similar to musical chairs.
There are 5 plungers. One is a bomb. The day this happened on, I was last in line, and 3 other friends were in front. I had the advantage, or so I thought. I called out a color (purple, green, red, white, yellow) and told nobody to pick it. The odds slowly increased from 1 in 5, 1 in 4, 1 in 3, then it was my turn. Go with my prediction, or switch at the last second?
I went for it. I was right. 37 times straight. [8D]
It may have gone longer, but one of my friends defied me! He went for my prediciton and blew up. I didn't say any predictions after that (number 15). Instead, I wrote them down in pen, folded it, threw it in the middle, then after the "match", they looked at in in amazement.
But, to sum it up, I can't pick lotto numbers.
you think that's bad, recently i've taken up reading fiction again and i've been able to predict most major plot devices long before they occur, sometimes a few chapters before they occur. its really annoying. but it also builds up more expectancy as i'm reading, waiting to see if i really am right and if it really will happen. so i have fun with it, even if it does give away the plot.

Wowie I wish I had that talent. And over here the lottery IS a TV thing so I could win!!
Lucky punk...
-FT
Yeah, you could do that Keno that when they play out the numbers it's on a TV where the ball gets thrown onto the number. Just a thought...gimme some of the money if you win 37 times straight with it...[:D]
I know what you mean. I could swear that I have psychic control over my boombox and Discman. I'll put it on random because the same old order gets boring and I'll think as one song is ending "Mr. Blue Sky is gonna be on next." Next thing I hear: (radio static) "Today's forecast calls for blue skies..." When I'm actually THINKING about it, it doesn't work as well though.
Hahaha, talking about the Simpsons, this was a cool episode i had.
I was waiting for it to start, and just before it did i thought to myself "Shall i mute the beginning so that no one else can hear it and come and talk to me" or something like that. I decided not to, but i had physically visualised doing it, actually pressing the mute button, then when the simpsons came on, amazingly, when the music came on around, there was absolutly no sound, and i actually picked up the remote and pressed the mute button to make sure i hadn't actually mutted it, and it turned out it wasn't mutted, but had been broadcasted without sound, and the sound came back on when it actually started (at the end of the theme)... So, looks like i don't even have to move to do things to the tv broadcast.
hahaha, what do you guys reakon?
well, quant, try changing the channel when your little sister is watching something you don't want to watch. [}:)] [:P]
that would be fun.
i'm thinking of trying to use my "abilities" to pick one of those silly little gambling cards that are sold at seven elevens. i've tried it before but didn't get anything except like $2 on a couple. but the next time i do try, i'll be sure to take my time and divine it as best i can, cause the time i did try it i just quickly picked them.
~kakkarot
Ok. My turn
quote:
By quant:
then when the simpsons came on, amazingly, when the music came on around, there was absolutly no sound
I have noticed that around here as well. Maybe Fox just doesn't want us to hear it? Sorry to put a damper on your day [:P]

You know, I get this sometimes on the radio. Like one day, I was just about to drive home, and I was thinking about my favorite song at the time - "Seether - Fine Again" As soon as I started the car, it began to play! It happened again just yesterday when I wanted to hear "Linkin Park - Somewhere I Belong". Man I love that song. Whoo.
I have noticed, however, that the randomness that is on computers is completely different. Some days, I can win this cool double or nothing heads or tails thing at video poker. I made it from a $15 win to a 1000+ win. Fake money :/
O well.
Squeek
Aw man. I just fooled around with my Discman and I realized that it only works if I'm unconsciously thinking of the song or if it applies to what I'm doing at the time. [|)] No control whatsoever. Still, better than nothing. [:D] It just does whatever it wants if I stare at it and think You will play number 16. You will play number 16. I swear it defies me by purposely playing any song as far as possible from what I want it to. I eventually get frustrated, switch it out of random, put it on the song I want, and scream "TAKE THAT STUPID CD PLAYER!!!" <deep healing breath>
Don't worry, I'm not on drugs or anything, for those of you who are wondering why this is more like a Squeek post (no offense) and less like a panabelle post. I realized today that I think I have mild Multiple Personality Disorder. Certainly explains a lot.[:D]
BACK ON TOPIC NOW - It's weird, but sometimes I get the feeling that my Discman/boombox is alive and picking out songs for me. Sounds stupid but it's true. Like the other day I really needed to hear a certain type of song (but was too lazy to actually press the button) and it played all those songs I wanted for me. Freaky.
LOL. It happened again.
Last night, as I was on my way to basketball practice, I was thinking of which Simpsons episode I was gonna miss. Somehow, I formulated this hysterical scene where Homer is trying to build an outdoor grill station. He accidentally spills everything into the drying cement (this is where it gets good) including the instructions.
"Oh, English side ruined! Must use French instructions! LE GRILLE?! What the heck is that?!"
Anyways. That exact scene was on TWICE last night. 2 times. The actual episode was on at 6, and a clip show was on at 6:30 with that scene included. Coincidence? Doubftul.
Hahaha! I love that episode!
"Mmmmm - Hippo..."
I think there's a spirit haunting my CD player.
If I am passively thinking of a song or really dwelling on it subconsciously, it plays it without fail.
If, however, I try to command it to play a song (this is all on random) it will deliberately play that song last. I've been using my CD player, like, 24/7 lately and this rule applies almost every time. Creepy...[|)]

panabelle, this seems to be more indicative of a passive ability to see something specific in the future a short ways, but it also seems that you have no control over it. ie, you can predict the future, but you can't change it until you get there. so don't get frustrated, instead learn to listen to more future possibilities.
~kakkarot
Sometimes im watching the simpsons and i get up to get a snack and i start talking on the phone. And when i come back the simpsons are over.
What does that have to do with anything?
Kakkarot: Yeah, this has crossed my mind too. Still doesn't explain why my CD player likes to spite me by playing the song I want to hear last. [|)]
well, maybe you should be nicer to your cd player then eh? [|)][:P].
that's a good question though. and i don't have an answer [B)]. sorry. maybe someone else can help, though. [:)]
~kakkarot
Nah, it's probably just me trying to make myself special. I'm still not going to let it know I'm on to it though...[|)]
Sometimes I get this with Windows Media Player. I have 400 songs on it, so it's very difficult to get the random one correct.
Whee. Meaningless!
!Squeek
Meaninglessness is fun![|)]
Wow. I only have twenty six songs on my CD... [:D]
Heh, buy an Mp3 cd Player. They play Data CD's, so you can store them as MP3's instead of space-consuming wavs.
Also, Linkin Park rocks. Buy their new album, pronto. Buy the cool version; it includes a DVD. Uber-coolness!!!
Way off topic...just want to up my post count :)
It happened again. Just FYI.
In Physics I started to sing the Guys and Dolls theme from the Simpsons. i have no idea why. Come 6:30, the Luke Skywalker Guys and Dolls episode is on. I fell out of my chair. Twice.
then i fell out again.
and again.
then i fixed the chair and never had a problem with it again.
Yeah, I had it just yesterday too. Can't remember what I was doing at the time, though.
HAH! I'M ONLY A COUPLE POSTS AWAY FROM PAGE 2 SQUEEK AND THEN IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME!!!! (deep healing breath) (evil cackle)
Wow. It is happening so much more often now. Today, while i was home alone doing pretty much nothing at all, i suddenly had some quotes pop into my head. The first was from a Halloween special about a speaking dolphin (Its the simpsons >,<) and another was "Don't you have school?" then Bart-> "don't you have work?"
So yea..Again...crazy.
~Squeek
"Ok, I'm officially freaked out now." It always does it. Here's the really weird part: If I ask it nicely, it'll play the song I want. But if I try to force it, it DELIBERATELY plays it last. Every time. Without fail. Creepy...
Even if I don't ask it, it seems to sense my mood and play a song I need to hear.
How can you tell it is "Last". With random on, do you start at a song, then go through the number of somgs on the cd and the (if there are 15 tracks) 15th one is the song you wanted to play, do you log it like that?
Or is it that you go randomly through the cd until it plays the song you want and you stop skipping tracks because you found it so it is the last one?
Random features on cd players do not work like "Here's 15 tracks. Once track 10 plays, it's off the list." Track 10 can play before your song plays if it wanted to.
I want to hear your method for collecting data. Don't take this as a rude comment. I just wanna know.

Answers to Questions, or perhaps I've just been up to late.
I'm pretty sure knowing the future is possible in two ways:
A.Events that have been predetermined. Not talking about fate, talking about the guy that decided which simpsons episode they'ed show that day. Just by deciding, he set up a future event, and that second of decision anyone that's good at reading the future could then know what his choice was. Not from mind reading, but because he set up a cause-effect. (Cause: He picked show. Event: They will show it.) Note that 'random' on any CD player ain't random, it's a predetermined pattern, complex yes, but still predetermined. Next song is already choosen by the time the first one starts. Again, cause-effect.
B.Events that the person sets up. Some people can mess with computers/electronics, just enough to make a paticular song come up. Not sure how, just that it can be done. Both A and B possible with CD players.
Alas, the predertiminations for lottery numbers are about zip, as nothing predermines the exact air current in the room, or assuming something does, it's way too complex to figure out how it affects the rolling numbers.
Squeek, I don't know what kind of CD player you listen with. On mine, there's a little switch that says "ORDER" above it or something like that. There are three choices: Normal (plays the song you put it on, then goes to the next in numerical order until the end), Repeat (repeats the song you put it on over and over again), and Random. I put it on Random before I turn it on. Then, it goes through all the songs in a random order. It only plays each song once. When it's played every song, it stops.
So, I sit down, (it's already on random), usually turn out the lights and chill out. If I really don't want to listen to the song that's playing, I just press next. Sometimes I'll say to myself, "Hey CD Player, could you play Somewhere I Belong?" and press next because I know it will play it next and it's easier than fumpling with the light switch, turning off random, remembering what number it is, switching to it, turning random back on, and turning off the lights. But when I finish a song and I say to it "Play All Star. Play All Star. Play All Star," and try to influence it with my non-existent psychic abilities, I always skip through until it plays that song, just for fun. And it's always last.
Wow, I have no life. I just wrote 2 paragraph on how my CD player works. [|)]
Hehe. Mine is much more complicated.
It takes the number of tracks on the CD (mine has about 350 tracks) and sets a random variable to it. So while it is playing a song, it picks a number between one and the number of songs on the cd (350) and after the previous song finishes, it plays the next song. But, it can play ANY song. It doesn't store data that keeps it from playing a song it already played again before any other of the 250 songs play.
And don't try to explain CD stuff to me. I'm an electrical GENIUS. And pretty much everything else im a genius at too, but not metaphysics >.<
~Squeek
What kind of CDs do you buy that store 350 tracks?!?! I want some! Or is it an MP3 player? I have one but the software was defective and I'm waiting for them to send me a new disk.
"And pretty much everything else im a genius at too, but not metaphysics." Wanna do my Algebra homework then? [|)]]
Right...something on topic now...oh: I had two more deja voo sorta thing last week. Oops, wrong thread. Well, this is sort of the same thing, I suppose.
Panabelle - MP3 CD Player. It plays Data Cds instead of audio.
I'd love to do your algebra homework. Fax it to me.
(I don't have a fax machine :D )
It happens all the time now. Most of the time just for simpsons, but some other shows as well, and sometimes my teachers -.- Maybe it's just because they're meticulous.
~Squeek
P.S. - PB, search bestbuy for them. They are pretty cheap too. Make sure you don't get a crappy one (Like i did...)
Dur! I never even thought of that. I should get one...I like the small size of a regular MP3 player, though.
I don't have a fax machine either. [|)] But our teacher doesn't check our homework. Isn't that cool? But if you don't do it, you SO fail the tests/quizzes. Yuck. Failing is bad.
For some reason, mine has been happening for as often, but the actual incidents are (usually) shorter than they used to be. Odd...
Just felt like posting here. Since it's kinda useless :D
Who likes my new Thingy and the other new Thingy.
Also known as Avatar and Signature. I wanna hear it, cause I love my avatar :D He's so funny. Look! He fell over again! :D :D :D
THERE! He fell again! :D
~Squeek
On April 12 I had a dream about very powerful Tornados hitting the midwest. It is not the first time I have had a glimpse of the future in a dream. (Last year I had a precognitive dream about the severe Texas floods.) BTW Those precog dreams were not posted in Astral Pulse because there is no separate dream or precognition forums here.
The important point is that dreams are the most common means of seeing the future. Many people do have precognitive dreams yet very few realize it. This is usually because the events foreseen are minor, everyday incidents and so go unnoticed. Only dramatic events like natural disasters and plane crashes get noticed. Another good reason to keep a dream journal. [:)]
Yase...
But what about my uber-cool avatar and siggy? :D
~Squeek
Well I like your new avatar Squeek!
Cracked me up when I first saw it. Still think it's funny when I see it.
[:)]
James.
Yes. That's why I also use it in aim. You see the title and see pothead and are like "uh-oh" then you see this lil guy running around with a pot on his head. Hysterical!
:D It's so funny when he falls on his face and the pot spins around.
Anyway about the siggy, I heard that on the seinfeld DVD "I'm telling you this for the last time!" I may have also heard it on the show, but i can't remember...
~Squeek
hmm... weird, before I went on the computer I thought, gee, I'm going to waste a lot of time. Now I realize that I've spentnearly 7 minutes reading squeek and panabelle posting to each other for 3 whole pages.[:P]
Yay for supreme uselessness! :D
I like your siggy. If it's from the simpsons, the proper line was "I'm from canada! they say I'm slow...eh?" I loved thta line, but not as much as "Wow Millhouse, I can't beleive we're on the canadian olympic basketball team!" "yep, it's just that easy!" *bart shoots* other player : "Hey that almost went in! you can be center."
~Squeek
do the episodes play in order?
No.. Fox only plays Friends and Seinfeld in order because they have to go in order. Matt Groening made sure to end every episode (with some exceptions) so that the next one would have no recollection of any previous episodes. For example, the simpsons go broke. Homer gets a new "job" and eventually they are back to normal. They make alot of normal jokes in newer episodes :D
~Squeek
I thank you for the correction. I have changed my sig so it is now proper. SEE!! SEE!! SEE THE CORRECT QUOTE???!!!![:D]
That's all I ever wanted.
So Anybody else care to comment on my uber cool lil Avatar? Dont be shy... POST NOW!
~Squeek
Hi,
I think it looks stupid. It looks lie he's on heroin or something. He constipated, lol. Look at his stomach [}:)].
Muhahahaha! Oops. This is a pointless post. Oh well... I am your new ruler, now give me all your cheese.
Cya,
James.
No. It's my cheese...Back off...
He's so cool. I bet by the time you've finished reading this, he's hit his head 10 times minimum. Aint he sweet :D
~Squeek
<Moan> So...many...projects...
Sorry I haven't been on in so long, I was attacked by a couple vicious teachers. [B)] Anyhoo: All the topics changed! I can't find any of the stuff I was talking about before except for this...oh well. Looks like if there's a place to put a pointless post, it's here.
Squeek: I LOVE THE NEW AVATAR!!! The siggy's cool too, but the Avatar KICKS BUTT!!! [:D][:D][:D]
But more on the subject: I've been having deja-vu dream thingies a little more often, but the noticeable thing is that they seem to be a lot longer now. Something weird happened today too.
I was talking with my friends and we were all sitting on top of the tables. Suddenly, I got a deja-vu-ish feeling. But this time, I knew what was going to happen next. Or at least, I had a general idea. (Usually, I'm sitting there trying to think of what's next, do something, and then realize that THAT was what was next.) Here's the really weird part: I didn't want that outcome, so I did something different and that part never happened.
Also: Shaking my head vigourously used to get rid of the (sometimes creepy) feeling, but now it does nothing.
Any ideas?
I'm glad you're back!
I'm also glad you like my uber-coolness avatar.
I don't know about your dream. Hopefully somebody else does. POST NOW! :D
~Squeek
Somehow...Some way... I can tell what episode of the Simpsons is going to air on the day it airs. It sounds crazy and...well..stupid... but it's totally true. Throughout the course of the day, a quote from one of their 300+ episodes will just pop into my head. I write it down, or tell someone. Come 6:00 or 6:30, I'll watch it, and it'll be there.
If you watch fox, sometimes, you'll see they advertise the 6:00 episode. These aren't the ones i get quotes from. Like, just today, at around 3:00, I was somehow thinking about something, and i remembered the unfunny quote "I put those 'Cathys' on the fridge for you". Come 6:30 (today is sunday...i didnt even think it'd be on!) It's the gymnastics episode. Lisa goes to college, earns credits, and so on. This was the episode that marge says that line. This has happened....I'd say....57 or so times?
Lol...what a useless talent... I have psychicness for TV stuff. (It's true for video games too...)
