Is it an aura or not?

Have you tried looking at a candle flame (at a safe distance[])?

The aura of a candle looks like any other aura.

Sometimes you may see it best for the first time with a dark background, then later you can see it in a lighter background.It can be just the opposite, so try with various backgrounds until you begin to see it. It doesn't require direct vision.Some say focus as if your looking through something, instead of directly at it.

Some people pick up auras of objects before learning to see a person's. Try animals, people, trees, etc.

With seeing the aura of people, be careful your not being self conscious of them looking at you. A crowded room where no one is paying attention to you is a good place to start sometimes.

No, you didn't repeat anything. I'll sure use your candle-advise. Candles are really cool anyway, so i'll give it a try.
By the way, I tried to see the auras of peoples at a bus station.[]

You should first start out with living plants. The faster they grow the easier it is to see their aura.

Well if you get a human to stand still 15 minutes infront of a white wall, then why not.

I also noticed that you see the aura easier if there is direct sunlight coming to the target.

Ok, but how can I be sure that the aura is really an aura. For example with the books the "auras" were so...chemichal. But the sort of chemichal that you see every once in a while when you have suddenly blinked your eyes or something. Then everyone sees auras sometimes, they don't simply admit it to themselves. Or are these only mirages?

On thing that I noticed about auras is that they move.  They expand, detract, there is often smoke like movement.

the first time I saw auras was at a funeral, where I sat at the back as looked at everyone with their back turned.

If you see an aura, and it sits still, its probably the shadow effect.

Sorry, I don't know, I guess it is quite possible. Maybe someone else can answer this?

Auras can appear in many ways, light,smoke, dots, gas, flowing water,steam, movement streaming (often upward).Good point made, krmason!

The subject of color comes up a lot. Many people want to know colors in their aura. I've never gotten too much from seeing colors. There is a link somewhere that is interesting on the subject if anyone is interested(Robert Bruce information).For me, I look for symbols in auras, color isn't a factor to do this.

All this aura talk makes me want to practice it again!  I too ahve only seen a full aura from a book, but it was so cool!  There is a big difference between the image burning into your retina so you get the shadow affect and the real aura, so you'll know when you see one.  As far as sunshine.. look at something with uniform lighting, i think if it's just too bright (direct bright sun) it might not work as well, although the aura should be bigger (As its photosensitive), it all depends on what works for you, so give it a try.

As for the cats, i don't think the cats will know ur attempting to look at their aura, but one thing is for sure is that they can sense a lot more than we do now.  Cats can definitely sense energies that are invisible to us, and that may include auras for example because cats know and will attack someone if there is lots of negative energy coming out of them.  When I say energies, that includes ghosts/spirits as well.  For example when you have a cat at a very old home where ghosts are living there (they are dead technically, but obviously not, haha), you may find the cat chasing after nothing across the room to the point where it'll go straight to the wall and climb up it at random moments.  So you can imagine what kind of perception they have.

Thanks for the cat info. I have heard of those things happening with cats. I hadn't thought about an aura as a possible route for encounters. It sure is something to think about.

The uniformity of the lighting of an object is also an important factor, I had forgotten that. I don't work at auras very much. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems to take some amount of energy to do it. It's well worth it though, if one is so inclined and interested. If I had more time and energy I would do it more.

Oh, an interesting aura experience I had last time I did it to myself (looking in a mirror).I saw a lot of falling white flakes flowing downward on me(usually the energy moves upward).These particles even obscured my face (never had the aura get in front of me). The even weirder part to this was that these particles had a burning feel. A very strange thing, and quite different from my other times looking at my own aura. I have had vibrational changes happen while looking at other people's auras. This is something more I want to seek out with future aura readings.

I forgot to mention another appearance of aura, sparkles. These are some interesting things to see too.

Don't get discouraged, Gwathren, it could be the energy factor I mentioned at the beginning of this post. Don't be in any hurry about it. Just do it when you feel like it, keep the fun in it. []

It might be a cool idea to make a subject about the magical powers of the cats. All that talk that they have 9 lives etc. Interesting...
But well, my question was more about does the object(the cat but also for example, the human or whatever else living thing) notice that they're aura is being watched?

Okay,I had an aura session last night.Read a few with their knowing it. Nothing special and my lack of practice was showing. One of the gals there was showing the rest of us a talent she had. We couldn't think of the name of it, but it's when someone can hold a personal object of someone's, and get a feel for something about the person.
Wow, she was good at this!.She read me like a book! She discribed it by actually feeling this pain I've been suffering for a while (a severe left arm pain).In the meantime, another woman stepped up to offer me a message. I took her up on it. Wow again,this awful pain I had suffered with for weeks was gone, although the soreness of the muscles remained, this part was nothing compared to this other pain. I felt great! A few minutes later, the first gal said to me, "you've never given me an aura reading." So I did. Wow! She had all kind of energy. It was one of the best aura readings I had experienced. She had a cross symbol in her aura. She was taken with that observation, and explained how a cross was in her aura. She said she reacted strongly to my observing her aura, and added that she most definitely would have been aware if I had tried to read her without her being told beforehand.

the thing is that I used Robert Bruce's method for seeing the auras of the books. And I got the results that he said there will be.

BUT, I'm not sure. I mean it can be everything. It just may be that I am cheating myself and no matter how I try, I still can't see the auras of the people, but I really would like to...

So am I making any progress at all or might it be just an illusion?
