Lifting the Veil of Isis

I was reading something about lifting veil of isis.

Not really sure what it meant other then trying to see reality as it really is.

Could anyone help me explain this a bit better to me?

I did a quick google on it - it seems to be your standard 'detach from your ego' type of thing. The veil is egoism.

I know that some see Isis as holding the key to past life memories so it could be referring to lifting the veil the prevents the access to all past life memories.
