Hey peeps, this is a place for you to post your coolest optical illusions that have personally happened to you or somebody you know.  8-)

So, I guess I'll start: In the late night/early early morning I was lying in my bed, veery relaxed and all, and I was lying on my side, and I gotta tell you I was not very chipper. Anyway, I was looking down at my sheets, because there was this light there. I thought it was my cell phone, because the light I was seeing looked exactly like the LCD light that comes from my phone. So I thought about the phone raising in the air... Within a second it was floating smoothly upward in a straight line. And then it disappeared..

The coolest part: When it was rising, I took my hand from under the sheets and tried to grab it. As my hand went through it, it vanished like a blink. I lay in amazement, awake and smiling.

sounds like a fairy, lol. i see things like that. like gaseous objects and colored lizards. lots of cats and stuff. and sometimes i see thin webs come from my fingertips. and sometimes my fingers touch each other without touching. and sometimes i see stuff spin around. and sometimes i see colored light around objects. its cool. when i close my eyes at night, i see flashing light and faces and stars and objects and places. stuff like that. loads of fun.

cool guy

wow, very cool guys.....

i sometimes see gaseous looking objects too...like gaseous energy of some sort near my crown chakra.  then there were a few times when i saw what appeared to be my chakra spinning....color was very faint and white.  very cool stuff but i dont always see it....

i think the coolest thing i've seen though was when i would wake up from naps and get this electricity feeling in my heart chakra and see blue grid lines in front of me!!!  could anyone explain that?  is that the astral realm or something?  some parallel dimension?

Some strange hypnagogic imagery, seeing through my (physical) eyelids before a projection.

Actually, the strangest was a hallucination when I was ill with a stomach bug - my sheets turned into a moving block of wood and my right foot grew enormously big and I got sucked into it. I turned to look at the room and the floor was covered in badly drawn cartoon cats .    :?  I can laugh about it now but at the time i was like wtF?!?!

lol, when i had strep, i hallucinated that the throw pillows on my couch were conspiring to attack the tv. and that i had to choose a side. at least the voices came from the pillows. i dunno. they were talking about attacking"it" and how they would do it. lol. they were so lazy. all they did was talk, they never did anything. too afraid to go on head to head with my tv, i guess. :D

When I was a college student, I was up like 5 days without sleep.   I went into the bathroom to at least brush my teeth before an 8:30 a.m. class.  As I looked in the mirror, the stubble of my beard and mustache suddenly grew out to a full beard -- then shrank back into my head -- then grew out again.  I stared at myself with a full beard for several seconds, and then POOF the hair all withdrew back into my face.  Not disappeared, mind you, but slowly rewound back into my face.  I was like -- holy crap!  Was it the mushrooms?  No, that was last week!  This was my poor sleep deprived mind in overdrive.  I've given up mushrooms and now take a lot of naps, but I'll never forget that illusion.  DH

lol, wtf?

Hey guys, you all have very cool (and very weird...) illusions :-o  lol at the pillows attacking the TV! that must have been a riot

Anyway, something happened to me yesterday that really freaked the hell out of me, but it was really cool at the same time. Okay, so when I get up really fast after having been relaxing and laying/sitting down I will get a major head rush and my vision will go blurry and almost gone for a couple seconds, and I have to stop in my tracks or else I'll start stumbling (I usually do anyway ). Happens to me all the time. So (and this is where it gets good ), I was laying down in my bed this morning (I had been awake for a while and I had already been out of bed previously to eat and stuff), I was very relaxed, and a little bit of faint blue light was flooded through the drapes.

I was looking at this picture (standard size) that I had taken at Camp Wolfeboro a year back and the picture was tacked on to one of my books on the upper shelf of my desk (the desk is on the other side of my room from where I was) The picture looked like there was a white face in it emerging from the right and looking to the left/downward direction. I stared at it for a bit and wondered if it would move. It didn't. I then continued on to asking it questions  (demandingly):

"Who are you?"
"What do you want?"

and then
"Get the f*ck outta here!"

So, when I got no response, I started concentrating on it and it started morphing into different things, most notably a small, black, scruffy wolf and a differently shaped face. I got up to get a closer look to investigate. Remember how I said I get head rushes when I stand up too fast? Well I got one as I walked over to look at the picture. I also noticed that the face was just a trick of light as all the white light and shapes disappeared from the photo as soon as I stood up.

As I was saying, I got a head rush, so I was kinda stumbling and dizzy as I stood at the end of my desk with the end of my bed behind me looking at the now normal photo.   But since I was so tired and relaxed I just decided to not fight the head rush. I didn't care, and I didn't try to control it as it took over... I had let it go further than I ever have before. Suddenly, as I stared deeply into the picture, I lost all my vision to the head rush. It was like an attack, and it got me good. I lost consciousness. I was spinning fast in a downward spiral and I didn't have any sense of direction. I forgot where I was, I forgot what I was doing, and I was in an undescribable state, almost blissful and cusiony comfortable.

I remember hearing my chair wobbling due to the fact that I was shaking it for support. I opened my eyes and stared at the chair as I continued wobbling it. I noticed that it was my left hand that was shaking it. I was sitting down on the edge of my bed. I don't remember ever sitting down, how did I get here? Where am I? How did that happen? Wow this is really cool. What was that?

It's things like this that make me love my interesting life!

But seriously, what the hell is going on!
