Wizard of Light

I have been interested in many things, but two topics that have held my interest for a time are numerology & astrology.

The more I read about both of these things, the more I wonder if it is just all a bunch of rubbish, designed to pinhole people and add more labels and red tape.  :?

I was curious what you all think about the above mentioned topics??  I am open to any and all comments/opinions on the matter.

they work for me, sometimes in amusing ways

also check here for good prediction:

there is one free reading for years ahead with specific days predicted, don't really work for me on day-to day predictions, but for my girlfriend it matched even them
(prefer to intuitively weave threads of possibility myself)
edit: checked it again, it does match for me

Hi Wizard,

I'm a Numerologist, and I'm currently working with a Numerologist / Astrologer.

Firstly, it definitely does work. Just about every one of my clients I've done charts for have looked at me in amazement during a live reading and asked something like "how on earth could you know that about me?"
For me, Numerology isn't just about the numbers. It is a tool for spiritual healing and guidance.

When doing a reading for someone, because there can often be areas in a person's chart that can mean one thing or another, there is a heavy dependence on intuition and higher guidance when doing a reading. I'll often get something in someone's numbers that I look at, and recieve a prod from higher sources that it means one thing in particular. When I sit down with the person I always find I was right to trust the higher guidance.

I know exactly what you mean about putting labels on people. It was one of the unfortunate aspects I saw a lot of at the spiritual college where I first studied numerology. I saw a common tendencies to both categorise people, or make excuses for certain behaviours because "well, it's in my chart."

That really rubs me up the wrong way, because that's so not what its about!

Both the practices are about producing a map, or a "users manual" of your life and your personality. Both practices are about helping you to know yourself better, particularly your strengths and weaknesses, how to be aware of them and how to work with or overcome them. I've found Numerology to be highly accurate in mapping out these strengths and weaknesses.

In the charts that I do, I map out many areas of challenges in people's lives, but more importantly the opportunities associated with those challenges. Whenever I present someone with an area of weakness, I show them the areas of strength that they have that they can use to overcome those weaknesses, and I always present them with the positive potentials they have. Again, it's all about helping someone to find healing in their lives, and showing them the resources they have within themselves to bring about this healing.

For Numerology, the one link that Daem0n gave is one I would also highly recommend –

Hans Decoz is a master Numerologist and one of the best around. He freely gives a huge amount of accurate and well researched information on his site to help demystify Numerology and teach people about reading and putting together a Numerology chart. I've a great deal of respect for Hans because, although he does have a valid service to sell, he is also passionate about helping people to learn the practice for themselves.

Thanks for the replies.

Quote from James S: "Firstly, it definitely does work. Just about every one of my clients I've done charts for have looked at me in amazement during a live reading and asked something like "how on earth could you know that about me?"

Isn't that because so much of it is quite generalised?  There is pages of information on each different number and what energies it can relate to (and mind you, not all numerologists agree on which energies match with which number, adding to a persons doubts and confusions  :? ) and of course someone is going to relate to some part of that information!

Just like astrology, there is tons of information on each of the signs and you can read through your own sign and pick through to find relevant statements which you can identify with.  And then, to make matters even more complicated (or maybe just to cover themselves??) they talk about the other signs that relate to you - moon signs and the like - which gives you more energies that will relate to you and change the way you will act, which is meant to explain why you won't relate to all the original information on your star sign.

I mean, non of my numerology says that I am going to be passionate about magic, occult studies and spiritual practices, yet this makes up much of my life!  Does this mean that I have chosen to go off course from my "users manual"??  Because I have never felt so much on the right path than I do right now!
And he said "Let there be light", and so there was.

Hi Wizard,

Good and valid questions! let's see if I can answer them convincingly enough. :)

I'm not going to be able to speak about Astrology, as I know pretty much bugger all about it, so I'll focus on Numerology.

QuoteIsn't that because so much of it is quite generalised? There is pages of information on each different number and what energies it can relate to (and mind you, not all numerologists agree on which energies match with which number, adding to a persons doubts and confusions  ) and of course someone is going to relate to some part of that information!

I don't think that numerologists actually disagree on the meanings of the numbers, they just sometimes squabble on how you get there. I've now researched 8 prominent authors, and there are some different interpretations once you get past the basics, there are different modalities and some different methods of calculation, but the energies of the numbers stay the same. A one will always be at its core the number of the pioneer and individual, a two will always be about connections with others, a nine will always be about humanitarianism.

The information is only generalised when you look at the energies of individual numbers. But this is like saying that all Sagittarians act before they think (well, kinda true for me    :)) That's only taking into account the sun sign, the broad brush strokes. As you've pointed out with Astrology, there is so much more behind that, and the deeper you go, the finer the brush strokes become.

When you blend the numbers of a Numerology chart together it forms a picture. It can be similar to watching an interlaced gif image load on a web page. First you get very rough blocky chunks of the image, then on each pass it becomes clearer and with more detail. Each time I've done a live reading for someone, I've seen a number of areas in their chart that all come together to form specific pieces of information.

As I said before, Intuition and higher guidance plays a very important part here, because you can get multiple meanings in some places, and you need to lean on spirit guidance to go in the right direction. When that happens, you look at the numbers and it can be like reading a page from the clients autobiography.

A reading I did for one lady showed me a particular pattern of mental energies. I looked at her and said, "You were diagnosed with ADD as a child." She looked at me wide eyed. She was. No-one outside of her family knew that. She went to school in the US, so no-one here knew anything of her school life. What her chart showed me was she was a highly intelligent person with the attention span of a hummingbird on extasy. It was my intuition or higher guidance that filled in the bit about the childhood ADD diagnosis.

QuoteI mean, non of my numerology says that I am going to be passionate about magic, occult studies and spiritual practices, yet this makes up much of my life! Does this mean that I have chosen to go off course from my "users manual"?? Because I have never felt so much on the right path than I do right now!
I'm just the same.
Some people have seemingly natural psychic talents, just like some people are natural athletes. I'm not one of them. I was given a "shove" by the spirits to walk this path, and I've had to put in a lot of time to gain my psychic abilities, but now I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I'm where I'm meant to be.

The broad brush strokes part of my chart show absolutely no spiritual energies whatsoever. This was also common for a lot of people I studied with, yet most of them have psychic abilities of one form or another. It wasn't until the experienced numerologists I've studied with pointed out areas deeper in my chart that my tendency towards intuition and a spiritual path was clearly shown.

This comes back to your question about generalisation. It's not until you read in the finer detail that you can see the picture clearly. In this respect, Numerology readings are just the same as Tarot readings. The more skills and more effort that's put into a reading the better the results, And if a reading is done without spitrit guidance, the person doing the reading might get lucky on a few points, but they will not be able to provide their client with specific information that truly resonates.

Blessings,
James.

Quote from James: "Intuition and higher guidance plays a very important part here, because you can get multiple meanings in some places, and you need to lean on spirit guidance to go in the right direction."

So then what relevance is the numerology really??  It sounds to me like only those with any kind of intuitive gift will make any sense out of it, and even then they aren't really using the numerology, but rather their own psychic gifts.

Added Note: I have heard of it being used to profile people for a job (like as well as a job interview), but from what I've heard that wasn't found to be very reliable either.
And he said "Let there be light", and so there was.

It realy is a "foot in both camps" thing. You use both mathematics and intuition. Numerology lays out a map of a person's inner self for you to work with. The intuition then helps fill in the finer detail.

You can do Numerology without intuition. Gods know there's enough astrologers out there who operate without it. The numbers themselves and their related energies have been very well studied since Pythagoras first developed the system 2500 years ago.  But intuition goes a long way to helping provide that greater level of accuracy. Without the intuitive input, Numerology would just be another profiling tool like many that exist within the philosophies of psychology.

Blessings,
James.

I must say that I am impressed with your persistence to answer my replies, James S.

I will tell you that I have looked into both astrology and numerology, having studied both to varying degrees (numerology more than astrology, only because astrology just does my head in with how complex it gets!).  I can see relevance in some of it, but as you can tell, I still have a lot of questions about it all.

I guess it is all a matter of use what works for you, everybody is different!
And he said "Let there be light", and so there was.

No Worries. :)

Numerology has become a passion of mine, so I'm going to be somewhat biased towards it, but I ceertainly won't preach is as being the be-all and end-all.

I actually started learning about Numerology as part of a profile automation programming exercise I did to help out the spiritual college where I was studying at the time. Proir to that I'd only heard other students bringing it up in conversation, and I thought back then it was basically a load of steaming bovine excrement.

Coming into it from a programming perspective, bypassing all the "mystical" nonsense, gave me quite an appreciation for how well it worked.

You're absolutely right that it is a matter of what works for you.

The college taught Numerology as a part of advanced Tarot, and most of the people from the college who do Numerology combine Tarot into their readings. I was able to go on to do the numerology course on its own as I don't work with Tarot at all. I'm just not interested in learning it. So I've extended my knowledge of Numerology to fill that space.

Blessings,
James.

Hi James,

I read a book by: Richard Webster,

In his book he explains many techniques for Astral Traveling.
One is using Numerology for astraling.  The best time to do it and the not so favorable time to do it.

In his group of students they all tried on several days weeks and month.  They kept a record of the time they did succeed, and the days they had trouble or not at all.

When the group came together and compared notes they all had the same results.

Certain days where better then others.

So here it is I'll type it in.

I have never seen anything in print on the relationship between numerology and astral travel, and indeed, discovered it quite accidentally.  In one of my psychic development classes we had spent a few weeks studying numerology before moving on to the experiment with astral travel.  One of my students reported that she found it easier to astral travel on certain days then on other days.  Another student said that she had discovered the same thing.

Consequently, as the class, we kept records to see if everyone experienced similar results.  With the first class, the results were almost identical for everyone.  However, in the later classes a number of differences emerged.  I put the identical results of the first class down to the fact that two where people had told the others the results they had experienced, and the others naturally looked to duplicate them.

However, a number of interesting similarities occurred.  It appeared to be easier for most people to astral travel on some days, and much more difficult on others.

To explain this properly, I will need to cover some very basic numerology.  Numerology is the study of cycles.  We lead our lives in nine-year cycles, and we can also track cycles of individual months and days.  In India, I have even seen numerologists giving people advice on certain hours, and although I am sure it can be done, I feel that this taking the subject too far, as the vibrations would be extremely weak.

In numerology, we work out our Personal Year number by adding the month and day of our birth to the current year, and reducing the answer down to a single digit.  Here is an example:

Charlotte was born on March 12, In 1998, she will be in a 6 Personal Year:
    3 (Month)
  12 (Day)
1998 (Year, using 1998 as an example)
2013   2+0+1+3=6 (Personal Year)

Personal Month:

The personal month is determined by adding eh person's Personal Year number to the current month and reducing the result down to a single digit. So Charlotte will be in a y Personal Year in 1999.  In January , she will be in an 8 Personal Month (7 Personal Year) + 1 (January)= 8

The Personal Day is found by adding the day of the month to the person's Personal Month number.

2 personal days where much better then the others for leaving the body. These were the 5 and 7 Personal Days.

After all, 5 represents freedom, which could mean freedom from the physical body, and 7 represents Personal Days.

The students found it harder to astral on 2,4 and 6 day. I found the 2 day hard to understand at firs as two represents intuition.  However,it all so indicates close relationships and patient waiting.  Maybe on 2 personal day we are meant to pay attention to our partner rather than go off astral traveling.

If you would like more on it the book is called. ASTRAL TRAVEL for BEGINNERS by Richard Webster.

He has a chapter on astral traveling with Hypnosis and other techniques.

I hope this helps?

Sincerely,
Frank (hypnotist1)

I also know that the phenomenon of numerology is real. At least that numbers are important. People think in geometric patterns and the same ratios comes back again and again. Study another person and calculate the time between the things he does. It could be the time between posts in here in this forum.
