I'm going to buy a pendulum and I was wondering if the type of rock that it is made from makes a difference?
lol, i kind of just addressed this.
there are other options beside crystals.
but, you should choose a crystal that resonates with you. it's just like choosing a crystal. use your intuition and pick the one you're drawn to. my favorite is lapis lazuli but carnelian is good, amethyst is good, rose quartz is good, tigers eye is good, agate is good and naturally clear quartz is great. i think the shape and weight is more important for a first pendulum. go with a heavier pendulum for the first one. if you can get a copper or pewter pendulum that might be good. they are great conductors of energy and they have some weight to them. the weight gives you bigger movements which makes it easier to identify the answer. once you become more experienced you won't even have to look at it anymore, you can tell how it's moving based on the feeling of the micro muscle movements in your hand that are making it move.
plus, a pendulum serves as good intuitive training because you start to make the connection between the intuitive feeling you get and the outcome in the pendulum. it's good for training yourself to recognize intuitive yeses and nos
