At school today, i was bored to death with nothing to do and i started to wander off into deep thinking, while staring at a red pen . Anyways, my vision began to unfocus, but wasn't too unfocused, when there was a neony, sort of image burn looking color, around the pen. When i blinked and looked around to check if it was image burn, i didnt see it.
Was this auric vision, or my imagination?

I have had this happen to me many times. This is not auric vision. This is just the image going out of focus so the light is blurred and sometimes causes you to see the spectrum (if your looking at a light source).

Uhm it could be a start...... every object has its aura, dead or alive, I think.....

I agree, and your eyes straining would affect it as well. So would the light and the colour difference between the pen and the desk.

Bah since there is all this anti-auric vision going on I should strengthen my position.

It is the start of seeing auras. The technique you did is the same people use to see auras. Unfocus, look behind and object and then use peripheral vision to look at the outline of the object. There will be a glow. Every object will have this glow. Now blinking will make your eyes focus again thats why it goes away..... if you dont blink and continoue staring like you did the neony glow might become stronger.

Here this will be interesting for all sceptics:

This is what he saw..... do the experiment and you will see it too. Even if its not a "real aura" like the one you see around humans, its a valid start in seeing them.

What he saw was not directly an aura in what people normally describe it, but it is a vital exercise in acctually seeing them.
Do not discourage people at that level by telling them its a trick of the eye, because its not. Its acctually training the eye in perceiving things which most people don't see.

If you discourage people at the level he is at he will stop pursuing it.

Neat, I just saw one around MY red pen in like 3 seconds.

(But...)
It was the same colour as his, a neon teal type thing which is the 'opposite' of red. I think you always see the 'opposite' of the object you're looking at if you unfocus or whatever.

Mydral

Put your hand infront of a white wall... use the same look you gave the red pen. What do you see around your hand?

Okay, I tried it with a blue battery and green/yellow lemonade can since the pen, and it's the same colour every time, so my theory is wrong. I'll try the hand/white wall thing, be right back. ;)

EDIT: Back. WOW. Worked. The 'aura' was white. Which means death. But, I saw a very bright white aura around my dad's head one time while fishing, he's still kicking.

Nope it does not mean death.......
its not acctually the aura sadly (or else it would be all colourfull etc.) its the etheric body or something. You beginn to see these things first before you can start seeing the acctual auras...... I have been bloody stuck in this stage for a few years bah. But alteast I can just look at myself or others and will see this white/blue glow immidiatly without any kind of unfocusing or so......

I still need to get past this stage somehow........ I just don't know how

I did the excercises on that website, and on the second one I can't get them to make a cross because my right eye is 2x worse or more than my left. I can make the image of four very vivid though and move the right two circles like 2 or 3 metres from my monitor. Now when I'm trying to concentrate on something like before, I keep just making two images of what I'm looking at. And, when I looked in the mirror, my left eye was looking in at my nose, but my right was looking forward. Not good for them, I bet. :)

the other day i was bored and the lecturer in my college was sitting in front of a white screen reading..so i decided to try to view his aura.  I saw the white glow.. bit i see this on everthing (on trees its seems to be massive) and then after that i saw a blueish colour around him. Was this due to the white screen or some opitical illusion or was it his actual aura

Wow my little sister has this bright lime green binder, and when I do the unfocus, look behind trick, I can see a very bright purple 'aura'. (Yeah, purple and green are opposites). It's hard, but if I keep unfocused, it grows alot, I got it to go out about 2 feet from the binder from two sides!

I got my sister to do it (she's 7) and she had no idea what I was talking about, I just told her to look behind it and unfocus, and she's like, "WOW A BIG PURPLE LIGHT!" :)

Mydral

Hmm ok another little exercise:

Hold the tips of your index and thump a few centimeters (maybe closer, you just have to get your own distance) away from each other so that they point each other. Now do the normal unfocus stuff with the white wall in the background (you can acctually use any background but a white wall is the easiest).
After a while start jiggling your two fingers back and forth so that the tips slide above each other......... scan the area between your fingers.
You should be able to see the glow connecting the two fingers like if there is a band between them. This band  will move when you move the fingers, its easier to spot if you move the fingers.
Alteast this is what I see.....

You can acctually also feel this...... move your two fingers slowly closer to each other. You should be able to get a tingling in both fingers at the tips (since they are pointing towards each other) before the fingers touch each other.
You can also move your two hand palms towards each other like your going to pray..... at a point you should feel a heat radiation on both hand palms before they touch each other. (This one might acctually just be your normal body heat but I can't be certain...)
Last thing is move your fingers toward your third eye......... it should start to tingle.

Anyways I am happy that your start to explore this stuff, exspecially because you didn't believe in it before and thought it had something to do with the light.

iv been meditating for a few years, and now when i do it with my eyes open the whole room bleeds over with my aura colour's,do the exorsises that you all described plus deep belly breathing(one point meditation)and it will help you see in time, also you should look into mudra's, they help exponentially.

Hmm I had an experience once where I was staring into the sky looking at prana. When I do this I do not have to close my eyes and can hold them open indefinatly. Anyways the whole sky changed color to purple and clouds where also a different color.... was kinda cool so I just kept on looking and looking without blinking once and time went by.
Now is this my eyes failing because they dry out (I feel no pain... normally you should feel pain when they dry out) or is it something else?

Bane

no its energy(prana) not your eyes failing.

If you're wondering about eyesight vs auric vision this might help.
