ive done that before. it is kind of tricky.. it seems like you'd have to be a pretty spatial person to be able to really get a good idea of what things look like from an angle you can't see.
I see. Well, it comes ezay to me. Like I could be driving down the road and look at the guy next to me and wonder, "What do I look like to him?" Once you put that question in your head, the imagery seems to form itself. Freaky, but STILL useless :D

squeek- its not useless, its actually very good training for your mind. being able to stretch your mind and move your awareness to outside your body is a good skill to develop. its more than visualization, what you really are doing is developing your pshycic abilities by not totally relying on your physical eyes. dont stop at your computer, take a mental walk around your house. using your awareness determine where in the house are the other members of your family, then go see how accurate you are. with practice you will amaze yourself with your newfound 'useless' ability. have fun
it is a good skill to have. especially since you can modify it slightly and start looking at yourself from OTHER people's points of view, and seeing how they see you or see "from their eyes" (ie, look at their life from their perspective, and really come to understand what they go through on a daily basis).
it's a real eye opener sometimes. [:)]

That seems rather hard kampersdream. I might do it later. :D When i have time. If i have time. Forget it -.- :D :p o.O
Lookit allofthem faces! Whee.
~Squeek(I'll try.)
Actually what you are suggesting is a Hindu form of meditation. It is following the path of knowledge to become enlightened. In it you constanly try to picture yourself from the "selfs" point of view. That is the unseen mover, the soul or what have you. You begin to get into the mindset of non self or detachment. When something happens to you good or bad you have no bias as to whether it is REALLY good or bad. A bit like trying to squash any sort of relativistic thought processes. So when you are picturing yourself from the eyes of your computer you are in reality "forgetting" your body. It is quite fun to do but hard. It takes a lot of brain power to accomplish so be careful if you are walking down a busy street or something. DONT TRY IT WHILE DRIVING TRUST ME!!! LOL!!!
And yes it is not useless!!! It is an advanced meditation technique and very helpful in Shamanistic Ayahausca sesions.
This is one think I like to do for some odd reason. I didn't know where to post it, but still something related, so I thought I'd post it here. The exercise is called Changing Point of View. I guess you could call it a bit of visualization.
Basically, in anything you do (if you have the time), you imagine what you would look like from somebody or something else. Like, your computer screen. How must you look now to it? Hard to picture, aint it? Even harder is overhead, or behind, etc. But still fun. It's like having a camera on a free-floating track anywhere you go. Fun for the whole family :D
Post what you think. Useless, but still fun. I'm bored. Whee.
