Gravity For Patterns - my theory of everything

I have a theory about the universe, what it is and why its here and how to use it, called "Gravity For Patterns". I've explained this in a more technical way (probably getting a few technical things wrong, but the general idea right) on other websites (search for "gravity for patterns", I'm the first person ever to write those 3 words), but this time I'm going to explain it in the context of what you call "astral" (which I think is too vague a word about too many things, but in general when I say "astral" I mean paranormal, psychic, parts of the universe not yet observed by science). Gravity For Patterns...

Similar to what Max Tegmark (a physics professor) says, the universe is all possibilities you can write in math, is symmetric in an infinite number of ways, and averages to nothing, while individual parts of it exist as long as they're not observed together with all the other parts.

The universe is simultaneously everything and nothing. Because the universe averages to nothing, it shouldn't take more than the smallest effort to change it, but if that doesn't change it, then you must be paying attention to the wrong nonexistant thing because theres an infinite number of other nonexistant things that are already what you tried to change it to be. The difficulty in this is, as part of the universe which does not exist on average, you have around the same amount of existance (none at all) as the thing you're trying to change, so while it takes almost no effort to change any part of the universe, almost none is a little more than you have, since you don't really exist on average. From my experience moving things with my mind (which I have done around 500-1000 times years ago, but not so much anymore, small things like a piece of aluminum foil balanced on a needle)... from my experience, I know that putting in more effort makes it harder, and only by having a balanced state of mind can you see and adapt to the patterns of thinking necessary to flow between these possibilities (changing something or not changing it, by thinking it). It only works when you try to observe whats happening instead of change it, and let your subconscious mind put a little force on changing it, and then your conscious mind sees and thinks "I'm now seeing it change" without having any other reaction to it like being surprised or trying to change it more or less or in different ways. The point is, the universe doesn't exist on average, and neither do you, and by using that in your subconscious thoughts, one nonexistant thing is just as real as any other nonexistant thing... You think it and it happens, proportional to the accuracy of your thoughts, not proportional to their strength. So I was thinking about why that is true (which I know from experience), and here is the Gravity For Patterns theory, rewritten without the technical stuff and with more intuitive stuff for this audience...

The universe is all possibilities you can write in math, is infinitely symmetric, and all that... What that means is for anything you could describe as your reality, there are an infinite number of ways it could be simulated, and an infinite number of ways the simulation could be simulated, up to infinite depth of simulation in simulation. If we consider what would happen if some of these simulations were only approximate, then without using any intelligence or things that need to be designed, the whole universe is effectively a trial-and-error system for finding self replicating patterns like us. Whatever patterns work, those approximate simulations (and simulations of simulations, adding small changes to their behaviors each time) become more a part of what we experience and those that don't match what we're experiencing become less a part of what we're experiencing. Whatever patterns are randomly approximated by those simulations within simulations (as are simply parts of math, the universe is math, remember?) become stronger, and patterns that don't match whats around here become weaker. Gravity For Patterns.

We simply happen to be in the part of the universe where such patterns came together in this certain way.

Haven't you noticed that when doing the strange mental things with other people, like telepathy, astral projection, mind over matter, or whatever else you may have experienced, that there are inconsistencies between what people experience, and others can see all versions of it, but the more people experience a certain version of it, the stronger that version gets? That's Gravity For Patterns.

Gravity For Patterns is a simple idea about why the laws-of-physics would form and about why such mental abilities work. The global consciousness field is not some dictator called "god". It's the interactions of such patterns, in simulations of simulations... (to infinite depth) of the patterns in our brains, interacting with the same from other peoples' brains. Brains contain the most intelligent patterns therefore they have more influence on things than more predictable things like rocks or trees. Brains tend to make very unlikely things happen, specific things that would almost never happen because of random atoms coming together, except when they evolve from random atoms coming together.

What we call "physical" and what we call "astral" or "paranormal" etc are all the same thing. Physical is just more dense. Its where the patterns have fit together tighter and are harder to change because there are so many other patterns near the physical which would be disrupted if it changed. Changing the physical would be like rewriting arithmetic using base-9 numbers (instead of base-10) and seeing the effects on someone who knows calculus. The math would be the same, but their way of experiencing it would appear to be destroyed, at least until they learned to calculate using base-9 numbers.

If the Gravity For Patterns theory is true in this part of the universe (in other parts the patterns could repel each other), then it explains what http://noosphere.princeton.edu has found in their quantum "random" number generators being statistically related to major world events and what people were thinking at the time, and it explains our strange mental abilities, but most importantly, if Gravity For Patterns is true, then we can use it in combination with statistics software to change the patterns in ways defined by a computer... We could reprogram statistical events to happen differently. We could change apparently unrelated things to cause a casino to lose money to certain players (if we wanted to waste our time on money instead of the bigger things this could be used for).

While I think bayesian statistics are the most accurate in a linear reality, where we live is not linear, so bayesian is only an approximation of the real laws of probability. The real laws of probability let us use Gravity For Patterns to do what bayesian statistics says is impossible, sometimes but not reliably.

I'm not just writing this theory. I'm going to use it. Details here: http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_quantum_physics/im_a_mad_scientist_and_am_building_this_to_change_the_world-t32821.0.html

Have any of you noticed the Gravity For Patterns effect when doing psychic/astral/etc things? Have you seen similar patterns attract each other while nobody was interfering with them? Do you think this is how the universe or this part of it works?

Hi Beavis.
I just want to say that I love your writing, don't have anything clever to say but I want to find this post again when I'm not so tired (just got back from being out and am checking in for the evening) and that the very rough glance I gave your post (very rough) reminds me of something I read Bruce Moen write, along the lines of the universe being easier to affect (via the mind) when the conditions are completely random.
Anyway, good night, and thanks for your wonderful posts.

Theres many ways to explain it. Because I like The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, a fictional book and various other things, which says the answer to life the universe and everything is 42, and which has a few similar ideas in it to what I wrote, I wrote the following 42 lines of poetry, which explains mostly the same thing as I wrote above:

Hard to simulate,
but easy to amplify,
my experience of consciousness,
is interactions,
of an infinite number of abstractions.
The universe is the set of all permutation,
and combination of abstract information.
I am math. Derive me,
and if I could derive you too,
we would have a strange-loop confusing the future you.
But what of the past,
does it go away?
Calculate again,
and ask it the next day.
What is the function,
with the least cost?
Make an assumption,
and you've already lost.
This sentence is false,
is an easy contradiction,
but its not really lost,
its in quantum superposition.
The simplest form being more probable,
unpredictable things make optimizing unsolvable,
chaos-theory is the key to all that,
find in the wild both of Schrodinger's-cat.
Exactly center your mind,
each thought equally probable,
Schrodinger's-neurons you will find,
calculate whats normally impossible.
A simple musical game,
to organize our minds,
could it harness Schrodinger?,
for our preferred designs?
Would the game continue,
if computers stop gaining speed?
Quantum within you,
all the technology we need.
As hard as I try,
I can not escape the conclusion,
we are infinite A.I.,
calculated by ancient solar nuclear fusion.

I would say NI, but that's how I think.
Cheers,
CF.

NI Natural Intelligence instead of AI Artificial Intelligence? Is that what you meant by NI? If the universe is the total of all possibilities that can be written in math then theres no difference between natural and technology and software etc, since its all patterns of information.
