Different beliefs in trance states

Yes, I feel this same way sometimes.  What I try to do, however, is to stop questioning my progress.  Whenever I'm entering a trance state, I try not to analyze my thoughts.

Our thoughts are constantly trying to rationalize things, and when it comes to AP, it's hard to rationalize!  For example, when we enter a trance-like state, we're always told, "Stay aware but let your body fall asleep."  

The problem is that by staying aware, we usually keep our rational, left sided brain in control.  We start analyzing the changes that are happening with our body (loss of feeling, lightness, etc) and by doing so, we stay too focused on needless things.  We need to learn to stay aware and not analyze the situation.  Just subject yourself to the natural process of sleep, while at the same time, observe it as if you were a third party spectator.

That way, when you start to lose body awareness, you don't say to yourself, "Hey, I can't feel my body anymore!  I'm one step closer!"  Instead, you'll just let it happen and disregard it....while drifting further into the realms of your imagination and the astral border.

I guess I hit the wrong key, my response dissapeareed! i said that I think you are running into subconcious blocks, I have read where past life therapist have had miracle cures, I have worked with chiropracters that do energetic healing and the work has been slow but rewarding.-for example- vows we have made in past lives may still be in effect-such as poverty.

Hi Tom,
I too have experienced sub-conscious blocks, *uncontrolled* thoughts and emotions *getting in the way* of projecting.

I would like to say, that I ADMIRE your DETERMINATION and DESIRE to project ... even after *14* years of trying to do this.  You are a role model for PATIENT PERSEVERANCE toward a worthy GOAL.

One *technique* that has worked for me, when I use it, is called Emotional Freedom Techniques, which is a form of Meridian-based Energy Therapy.  EFT (for short) works to remove emotional blocks in your energy field, thus freeing you from the *chains* they place on you emotionally (and mentally).  Gary Craig, the *creator* of EFT has a FREE DOWNLOADABLE MANUAL on his website at http://www.emofree.com ... it is a PDF file, I believe.  You could download this manual and discover how easy EFT is to do and how universally as well as specifically applicable this technique is.

Also, at one time, Gary Craig offered a *free* CD containing video sessions demonstrating EFT sessions on a severe water phobia.  I have that CD and am allowed to duplicate it for others to learn from.  If you'd like, I can send you a copy of it ... just email me and I'll send to you ... my gift to you ... my email address is listed under my User Info.

I just had another thought ... in reading about the US govt. Remote Viewing program, prior to each RV session, the RVer would WRITE DOWN his current mental and emotional state and any thoughts at the time.  I believe this process of writing gets your thoughts *out* on paper, clearing your Sub-Conscious mental chatter.  It would also be a good idea to write down SPECIFIC goals, as this helps to hard-wire them into your brain's neurology.  BTW, if when you're writing out goals AND you get that *feeling* or *thought* or *inner voice* that is telling you that "you're not gonna acheive this goal" ... then use EFT to REMOVE that *block* and any other *related blocks*.

The people at the web site www.emofree.com have a program available for sale in addition to their free course in pdf. I think that it runs about $50. Actually, it crossed my mind to buy it next month when I have more money. It is good to know that it can help me with my current situation instead of just being a matter of curiosity.

Writing things out in advance sounds like a good idea.

The thing which is not quite clear to me is how something so specific (water phobia) could help with more general problems, or other specific things such as whatever conflicts are stopping me in my trance states. Actually, the problems are more often than I would like strong enough to interrupt my trance state when I am trying to apply it to something specific.

When I am in my ordinary state of consciousness, what I learn makes sense and it is easy to imagine that next time will be the time. Next time I go into a decent trance state, I will project. Then the time arrives and my trance develops. It grows deeper. Then my feelings, attitudes, and beliefs are much more limited. Astral projection feels farther away than ever and I wonder what made me bother to set aside time and go into trance. Maybe this is just a core image. I don't know. It is not active outside of a decent trance. Does anyone else have this problem? Better yet, any solutions?
