Last night i was meditating in my bed laying flat arms above my head flat when i sleep (yeah i do this lol) so im laying there trying to focus on not focusing meaning try to clear my mind. Time passes and i believe i start to not feel my limbs and almost go into a trans-like state. i feel my stomach clench up but its not stressing me out at all like say a crunch would when you are work out then i feel my arms above my head start lifting as this is happening im still trying to concentrate, i feel every muscle in my body well above my waist clench up and tighten but im still breathing normal as if nothing is happening at all which is weird. every muscle seems to fire up and clench up individually as if im working out but again i don't feel stressed. and this is a slow process, before i know it im almost sitting up straight arms almost fully extended in air my body about at a 75% incline from the bed. i open my eyes and all of a sudden drop back into my bed and start breathing as if i had been doing a marathon. i don't know if i was about to AP or if i was beginning to levitate. I guess my question is has anyone else felt this???

Dreamshards

It was your astral body that was levitating. When you became startled by this you shot back into your body and woke up. You were successful, you just didn't know it.

It felt so real though... wow its that is my astral body hmmmm... its probably going to take some time for my full body to rise up. interesting  thanks for the feed back i am new to the site, though i have been in the forum before looking and researching i just now have signed up.

I saw what looked like of course with my eyes closed i saw like a mix of purple and blue and black mist or swirling colors when my eyes were closed....is that pretty normal?

It sounds to me like you were Phasing/Shifting into the Non Physical Reality (NPR). Next time this happens, stay the course and ALLOW it to progress. Just observe whatever happens at the time. You can question it afterwards.
Make sure you take notes too!
Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

phasing huh... interesting it was almost like i was being lifted up from my wrists but could get my legs up....wonder if its because they are too heavy...

I have felt my self near the roof, and at the same time in my bed. I've spinned like a helicopter, stretch down...etc etc!. Everything is fun for me, I do enjoy every little "ride". There is no heaviness though, as in "physical weight"  I do suspect it's only our minds not letting what is happening to happen (the separating from the body).

I do feel that my legs are attached to my body, and the rest of me is lifting, and that I cannot detach my feet from my physical. What works for me at this time i'ts not trying anything, but focusing on something else. Whatever you really want, an object flying in front of you, a landscape, or a simple dot.

Yes, often I find that I am "stuck"  at some areas of my body, such as the feet, upon exit. This is normal and occurs to many astral travellers and is most likely due to only part of the astral body projecting out while the other part remains "glued" to the body. I heard if you eat a heavy meal, especially with a lot of protein, before astral travelling, it can cause this "becoming stuck" state. It's due to a large portion of undigested food blocking the energy centers of your body, which actually hinder projection efforts.

It has nothing to do with glue or the weight of your limbs. Anything pertaining to physical sensations during nonphysical focus is purely an artefact of belief.

If you believe you will get stuck... you will get stuck.

I spent years having perfect separation... everything was fine... till I read that vision, flying, going through walls, breathing and getting stuck etc could be a problem. Guess what... I magically got those 'symptoms' after reading about them.

This.

I also get an odd feeling in my stomach/ chest area. It's like a fuzzy feeling. I trigger this quite often. I just go with it now. It can't hurt you. Direct your awareness away from your physical. That's the main goal here. Forget about your physical. :- )

Bedeekin

That is a weird sensation you mention... the fuzzy feeling... this has been called many different things... fuzzy, ticklish, pain, energy.

I sometimes get it in my groin or lower tummy.

Firmitas

I used to get this a lot with my astral legs. They would lift up and point at the ceiling but nothing else would happen haha.
Honestly, there could be a number of reasons as to why this is happening. There could be some energy that needs to be worked on in your lower half, or this is just part of your unique and individual process.
When I leave my body I always get that clenching in my solar plexus. It vibrates so hard that its somewhat painful but, If i focus on it and try to intensify it I pop out of my body. Just do your best to relax and keep your thoughts as clear as possible.

Good luck!
