Have you tried starting paper on fire like the guy in the last video? My hands get pretty hot sometimes but I don't know if they get that hot...

a few links to a few videos you all might wanna check out.

tell me what you think.
Those videos are all debunked.
It's unfortunate, but videos like those are why psychic phenomena isn't taken seriously.

kurtykurt42

All of them were debunked, how do you know?

Not debunked persay... they were put on from they very beginning using science instead of psychic ability.

I do have to question the motivation behind someone posting these three particular scams...
Dragohad, you must have known EXACTLY where they came from.

So I have to ask why you posted them?

Were you trying to trick people here?

I would definitely agree that static electricity accounts for an overwhelming majority of these "I made da tinfoil move in my garage" videos. The effects that seem possible are generally far more subtle than these instances.

One of the few respectable studies that I have seen of such effects was Princeton's project PEAR (Princeton engineering anomolies research). It seems to have actually yieled statistically significant results, but again, these are quite subtle (though highly repeatable).

The effect was graphed in the operation of an aparatus which sent polystyrene balls down a pegboard into a number of receptacles on a random path. Hundreds of thousands of trials seem to reveal that human intention will change the outcome of the falling balls on average around 3 out of every 10000 times more than chance.

i wanted to show everyone here just how gullible they are. and for the exceptional few like yourself and me, we see past these things and go for the real excrement.

{that was my motive anyways....it may have come out differently though}

I can definitely understand the reasoning behind it.
But really... it wasn't too hard to find out the stuff I found regarding those videos.  LoL

In any case, there are two good points here that you make:
First... yes, people can be gullible, especially people *WANTING* to believe something to be true, however that's not always a bad thing.
Secondly... some of this stuff has to be taken on faith, especially if you've never been able to do it for yourself.

Now, the issue here isn't whether someone is gullible enough to believe a "fake" video... the issue is that this "fake" stuff does exist in the first place, which in turn causes a blurring effect upon what exactly is truth and what is fiction.  Unless specific videos are debunked then there is really no way, other than trying to use our own common sense, in finding out which videos are real and which are fake.

So... in essence, we're left with either assuming they're all real, or they're all fake.  I'm not too keen on either of those stances... so I try to situate myself in a kind of balance between the two.

Dragohad

i feel like we all have to be semi-sceptic so that we ask ourselves, is this really whats going on or is it just smoke and mirrors....because i feel as if most of todays psions get motivated by the wrong ideas and concepts.....sure it is good to believe...but make sure you believe in something real and not fake. know what i mean? my theory is that most of todays modern psions use false imaging to get the euforia of thinking they know psinonics and psychic excrement. pardon my french that is. but its true, people see what they wanna see.

It's always good to know that what you believe in is true and honest.
However, in some cases, faith is also needed.  Our metaphysical adventures is one such case... and if we all go around trying to trick eachother with videos of fake abilities... well, then, how much better off are we?

This is a forum of truth, we're all here for the same reason (or I'd hope so).  So with that in mind, you should really only attempt to put forth the truth in any circumstance.  :)

Dragohad

ok then let me counter your statement....if you didnt find out it was a fake video....with no signs of such or no one telling you.....would you even think it was truth?....thats the point i was getting at by posting the videos. i wasnt trying to trick anyone, mearly point out the fact that we miss alot of excrement in our practice. and for me, i dont believe i have powers.....or anything like that. i just know i do....theres a difference between knowing and believing. and i think once 1 crosses the threshold they too can move things easily or read someones mind as easily, or remote view, or anything of the kind. u know?

All things being equal, we would have to believe it.
That's why we're all here.  :)

In reply to the second video in the first post... That's pretty basic to do. I can spin a psi-wheel in a needle in any direction I want. As fast or as slow as I want.. Probably just coincidences.

then why bust my chops in posting them to prove a point?....

anyways, on a side issue... how does everyone go about psychokinesis techniques?.....for me its kinda obvious...and i do believe i put that up here or another post in AP somewheres. but i was just curious as to how you all go about doing so.

No chop busting going on here, just friendly discussions. :)
I'd just like to see nothing but honesty and truth being posted here... but that's just me.

I think some people work on energy raising first... then move onto actually using that energy in manipulating objects.
