Title: Speaking of ignorance...

depends on the teacher. for instance i couldn't teach online: if i were to teach there would be too many nuiances that couldn't be portrayed through text, even with the little smiley guys [|)][:D][8D][;)][:P][:)].

others may find it easier. in much the same way, some people don't find it easy to learn online while others do.

Make sure you get someone who is truely spiritually advanced and willing to teach. Beware of people in it for ego.

They wont be that easy to find and I doubt real ones would take money for it.  You're better off reading all the free info out there for now.

Dear Fyrenze,

At best, online teachers could provide you with methods which through sufficient and proper training *might* yield psychic abilities.

Reading the right books might do you just as good. The one advantage of online teachers, is if you find one with real ability and of an advanced enough degree, they may be able to help you avoid the typical pitfalls that you might otherwise endure if you went at it alone, as well as allow for interaction which is useful to get your questions and doubts answered. (Robert Bruce's prior interaction and his books are a good example of this)

In the end though, you still have to do all very hard work. They can only try to guide you in the right direction.

Believe it or not there are MANY people and schools out there willing to teach you all sorts of things. Be forewarned though that there are MANY fake schools and fake teachers out there. Some questions to ask are:

a) Do they actually have any ability themselves?
b) Is what they are teaching you safe?
c) Is what they are teaching even real and will it work, how does it compare to other methods?
d) Is what they are willing to teach you worth you paying medium to large sums of money?
e) Be sure what they are teaching you isn't just regurgitated information from books they've read that you can read too.

Before you pick a teacher or school, be sure to research the reasons why these people are willing to teach you... What are they getting in return? What are their goals in life? How many other student of theirs have actually met success through their methods and at what cost (to their lives: financially, timewise, careerwise, relatioshipwise etc)? Do they bash other teachers, groups, or schools? Do their methods impose on your morals or the rights of other beings?

BEWARE of feeding egos, payment per lesson schemes, asceticism type practices and promises of disclosure of deep secrets!

Do a lot of research on the teachers or the schools beforehand and as per any good internet conduct, do not give out too much personal info.

But instead of worrying about all this, I would suggest you think a lot deeper about WHY it is you want to gain psychic abilities? To show off to friends/family/enemies? To feel more powerful than others? To satisfy your curiosity? To make money off them? To serve as a scapegoat for other problems you have in life that you have not dealt with yet?

The question of WHY is one that should not be ignored or quickly answered. Be *VERY* careful what you wish for, because if you are serious and are relentless in your quest you might just get what you came looking for... and often you'll also get things that come along with such abilities that you did not anticipate or ask for. So never stop asking why you are doing what you are doing every step along the way.

Best Wishes,
Adept of Light

If yah want a guide, I'll see what I can do to help.
ICQ: 9663640
MSN: soulpathwalker@hotmail.com
Usually around at nights, starting anywhere from 7-10 PM, Mountain Time.

Mystics Experence: Pathways (trying to understand the nature of mystics, includes some experence in lotta different types, though not alot of experence in any one).  Work mostly in shamanic and energy, though I'm sure can give advice for alot of other types.

And, to answer alot of Adept_of_Light's questions..
A) I have some power.  If yah looking for training to throw fireballs, fly, ect.. go somewhere else.  I can't do thouse things.
B) Safe?  Um, I've never heard mystics described as that.  I'll give you warnings on anything paticularly dangerous, but I not gonna put "coffee is hot" labels on everything I teach.
C) It's real all right.  Just don't expect to drasticaly alter what everyone else considers real as well though (see A if confused).
D) Payment? What I learn from helping is enough.
E) I've yet to read a single book on mystics.  Most of what I tell, I've learned by myself [Though a few tricks and what not I pass on from what I've learned from others].

Well, I want to thank everyone for their input.

And of course I don't want to learn abilities so I can throw fireballs or fly or impress others.

I want to learn. Period. About others, about the world, and mostly about myself.

Could a "teacher" online do much to help me develope psychic skills? If so, where can I find online teachers, and if not, where do I find reliable folk in my area?

How much would such a teacher run me?
