Just curious, I rarely watch TV, don't read newspapers. Try to keep my thought pure and simple.
As I turn in for the night, lying in the bed, my eyes are open staring into
the darkness. My body very relaxed after about 10 minutes or so, I start
to see animated pictures, some seem to be in color, especially the colors
red and blue. Its like I'm watching programs or bits of a movie, or better
yet like watching a playback from a video camera. People and places I've
never seen or been before.
I close my eyes and open them again, the picture disappears only to have another one appear. Does anyone have any idea what might be happening?

I've experienced this too. It's called focus level 12.

Being controlled by spirit guides and "higher selves" is giving away free will - life is all about choices, so it's like loosing a meaning of life.

Sounds like Focus 12 to me. ;)
You could probably phase really easily if you wanted.
Could be similar to the auditory hallucinations that some people hear while falling asleep or attemping to project.

I have been having this same thing happen to me for the last year or so. Like you- as I drift off to sleep its like I am watching TV with full color and sound- though I only notice after a while whats going on. I realise that Im dreaming/hallucinating and wake up to find that my TV is turned off.
I sometimes also get the feeling as if Im reading a book- I cant see the book though its as If I can hear someone is reading a book to me.
