I posted in the regeneration is it possible thread? We all know people can be healed, arms can come back, ect.... Did you know the body recreates itself every seven years? I have from sources that people would live thousands of years recreating their body. The question than is how do we do it? If we regenerate a part of our body, that part maybe new, but the other's are still old. We must than make a new body, or regenerate the entire body. Something to do with creating a new one every seven years. Thoughts? What is creating a new body called anyways?

That's conventional wisdom.  Cells replicate as old ones die.  Each cell has specialized parts that tell each cell how many times they are going to replicate, and the DNA tells them what the new ones are supposed to be.  When the parts run out (each division makes this part shorter and shorter until it cannot replicate any more, and the cell dies).  So in theory you can translate this to mean that you grow a new body in seven years (I've heard nine, though).  All this means is that it takes around 7 years to replicate all of the cells in your body.  However, I'm not sure what this has to do with regeneration of a body, because this is a completely different mechanism.

I will withhold comment on this; and the answer to the second part will tell you why.

QuoteIf we regenerate a part of our body, that part maybe new, but the other's are still old.
That's not how it works.  All cells continuously regenerate, all the time.  That's what dandruff is, dead cells that fall of your scalp, and that's what most dust is, shed skin cells.  That's why we bathe, to remove the dead cells from the surface so that bacteria don't grow on it and make us get infections and smell bad.

The reason that some animals can regenerate whole limbs is because they have specialized stem cells in them, which enables them to grow them.  Stem cells are in some parts of the body, not in all parts of the body.  They're in umbilical cells and they're in teeth.  I'm not sure where else they are, but that's why a single embryonic cell can grow into a whole baby, but we're just not built that way, biologically speaking.

Anyway, just in case you wondered, there is a mechanism that messes with the cell life (the mechanism that tells the cell how many times it can replicate before it dies).  When you turn that off (with freaky bio-science) guess what happens?  Cells go crazy growing all over the place, also known as Cancer.

The question is, why in the world would you want to live in the same body for  thousands of years, when your spirit (if we're going with metaphysics here) is immortal and has the opportunity to come back in different bodies to have different experiences, which seems to me to be the whole point of existence? (If there is a point, anyway)... Anyway, the whole things sounds a little too 'Frankenstein-ish to me.

Just my .02, feel free to ignore me.

To help others grow spiritually, quite a selfless act indeed. Perhaps I will live for thousands of years, I would hate to watch so many people repeat their mistakes and be forced to live in a lower region of f3 in fear and suffering.

Have you read Autobiagraphy of  yogi?

Self Control, Full Bodily Awareness.  They say that it takes fifteen to forty five minutes for mitosis to take effect, otherwise, you get half mutated cells and ... Cancer.  Not very yummy.  Try getting naked on a warm day in winter, go outside, yes, drive all the way out to some old abandoned farm house or the middle of a field, strip down, get naked, and feel the coldness.  Also, eat snow.  Snow contains the latent energy of sunlight, decayed in quantity by the distance to the sun, so 8 something or the other, by 8 divisions or by 8 x the least value or some such I don't know.  When you eat snow, and you are naked in the middle of a field, and really starting to notice your feet getting really cold and numb and red, try raising some Kundalini.  Winter can be a period of regeneration, but also, hard work.  I believe the ancient Natives who did not have shop heaters or moccasins, in the very beginning, these would exercise violently and scream and sing in the middle of open fields.  With the resonance in the open atmosphere around them, they could potentially generate thermal energy.  Or the flip, they would stalk within the middle of a highly dense forest, and remain completely still, while eating snow.  Perhaps also screaming and singing violently, to generate some radiant energy which the dense of the Wood would them amplify, because trees produce sonic energy, at least in my belief world they do.  They sing, always willing to protect a naked man in the winter's storm.  Perhaps part of why they cut down all the forests, to prevent people from going in there and 'doing strange things with their bodies'.

Shapeshifting is possible.  Regeneration and Levitation and this kundalini stuff is also connected together.  Also, if you are ever stuck in the middle of winter, take a mouthful of snow, ground like a madman, and suck up geothermal energy directly through your legs, and store it in your genitals.  Reproductive system, sex, hey it's winter, look at that lush snow bank, baybay.  Perhaps they just ate snow and lived in a snow drift for six months, I really don't know.
Strength. Endurance. Speed. Resistance. Stamina. -these are dimensional, at density and frequency.
Will. Courage. Faith. Love. - these are spiritual, the power to effect Life Force.
Balance. Peace. Focus. Charge. Awareness. -mentally active self control

I Actually think that Cancer is one of the best gifts from nature.  If you look up Cancer - immortal cells, you will see that cancer cells do not need to replace themselves, because they DO NOT DIE.  They are immortal cells, and I feel we should now start funding money to figure out WHY they are immortal and figure out a way to give those characteristics to OUR living cells, making us entire beings of 'cancer', and at the same time immortal.  However, we would still die from bodily harm, and there is a good chance that if all of our cells are immortal, amino acids will not currently heal us like they do now.  That is where nano technology would take place, I guess.
